Use this guide to help you find your way around the Just For The Win catalogue to find games that you suit your playing style.

Just For The Win studio produces around 10 to 12 titles per year, each with its own theme and features. Some follow very traditional themes like Irish luck or pirate treasure. Others show a more esoteric and original approach. Here are five of our favourites with a brief overview of each.

The Bandit and the Baron arrived in casinos in 2021, a 5×5 grid game with impressive wild west visuals. The highly volatile gameplay is augmented by expanding Baron Wilds and Bandit Re-Spins with locked reels. The climax however, is the Bandit Bonus, played out in a bank vault with extra Cash Symbols (worth 1x to 25x), Key Symbols (unlocking further parts of the reels) and Upgrade Symbols (multiply visible cash symbols by up to 10x).

Thanks to these enhancements in free spins, The Bandit and the Baron is one of the most lucrative JFTW slots with a top payout of 25,000x.

Emerald Gold slot, from March 2021, has a jauntry Irish feel to it, playing out on a 5 reel grid with 4 rows and 40 fixed paylines. It will be familiar to anyone who has played Western Gold by JFTW as it utilises similar features. Central to the action is the Clover Scatter which pays out for 4 or more on one spin. You can land 12 to score a 25,000x win! There is also a free spins round where clovers are collected and all scatter pay outs come at the end of the round.

Emerald Gold has an RTP of 96.12% but its hit frequency of 35.81% suggests that you’ll hit a winner once every 2.79 spins on average, which is better than most high variance games.

This was JFTW’s first effort at a grid slot, taking its inspiration from Norse mythology and offering a top win of 5,000x on a 7×7 reel set. You need to land clusters of 5 or more identical symbols to score payouts. But the most important part is a collection metre which can be found on the left of the grid. Each consecutive cluster win adds another point to the meter. Modifiers are triggered as you collect more points, including symbol upgrades, added wilds and win multipliers.

There is a top win of 5,000x to be landed an impressive win frequency of 49.44% that makes Odin’s Riches worth a spin.

In this epic western played out on a 5×4 grid with 50 fixed paylines there are a few good opportunities to boost your win potential with on-reel modifiers. Keep events include Cash Barrels which lead to wins of up to 10,000x, and free spins with multiplier boosts. This is a high risk game, more so than most JFTW slots and it comes with a 25,000x top win and 96.15% RTP. Read more here.

More recently, JFTW have launched Amazon Kingdom (August 2022), a jungle slot with 5 reels, 4 rows and 30 paylines. It has a similar game engine to Scarab Kingdom (also by JFTW) and utilises Wilds and Free Spins to good affect. The Wild Scrolls feature sees Wilds expand down the reel with each spin, whilst the Queen’s Bonus pick me round gives you the chance to pick coins up to a value of 2,000x. This one is also popular because of the Super Free Spins round where TWO Wild Scrolls are guaranteed, as is a 5x multiplier.

Wins aren’t as good on Amazon Kingdom – they max out at 5,000. But the gameplay is compelling and high risk nonetheless.

Like all slots developers, Just For The Win have created some unique features that make their games stand out from the rest. Their best ones utilise collection meters. You can find these in the following slot:

Reel Talent – in this game, with every winning spin, the winning symbols are stored in a meter before a re-spin occurs. Three consecutive wins triggers a bonus feature where only those symbols collected in the meter appear on the reels. This is a high risk game with a clever feature.

Just For The Win have not created their own exclusive progressive jackpots. However, they have played a part in creating one of Microgaming own progressives, a game called Sherlock and Moriarty Wowpot! The game draws on the narrative of the famous Sir Arthur Conan Doyle detective stories with a design from the JFTW team that evokes a Victorian city shrouded in mist.

The top Wowpot jackpot can be won by triggering a Prize Wheel feature. It is seeded at no less than £2,000,000! The game also features Free Spins with Sticky Wilds and Multipliers. Note that the RTP is just 92.1% which is lower than average due to the contribution made to the jackpot pool on each spin.

The RTP percentages for Just For The Win vary depending on what game you are playing. They are generally in the mid-range and average for UK slots at between 94% and 96%. Here is a list of the top JFTW slots by RTP with variance and top payouts shown too.

Just For The Win slots were previously most commonly found in the mid-range of variance with fairly even win distribution. However, over time this studio has followed the prevailing trend of increased volatility set by developers like Big Time Gaming and No Limit City. So some of their more recent games, including Western Gold Double Barrel 2 have a particularly risky maths model!

NOTE: Slot volatility, also known as variance, is a risk element connected with slot machines that reflects the regularity and size of your wins. Variance, which is connected to the RTP, influences your short-term profitability because you may need to play for a longer time to see any rewards (unless you get lucky, of course!). Since the early 2010s, online slots play on mobile has been growing to the point that wagering on mobile slots now far exceeds that on desktop. For that reason, all online slots developers create their games in a format that is responsive to different devices, screen sizes and operating systems.

And JFTW are no exception. Whichever slot you play from their back catalogue of close to 50 titles, you will find that they look great on iPhone, Android or any other mobile phone you use. Usually the games are built using HTML5 technology that allows the games to re-size and re-configure layouts to suit the screen they appear on.

A good place to figure that out is on Casumo, the immersive casino that also has its own mobile app.

JFTW are serious about their Responsible Gaming duties.

In order to qualify for their UK Gambling Commission license, developers like Just For The Win must pass stringent auditing process to ensure that their games are fair, safe and secure. This will involve testing each game with millions of spins to ensure it hits the published RTP.

Furthermore, you will only find this company’s games on slot sites that are licensed by the Gambling Commission in the UK. That means gamblers have access to tools to allow them to limit their own spend and play time, and casino owners must carry out checks on affordability levels for those players who are spending at a higher-than-average level.
