Casumo is a top-quality, modern website with a clean and simple design. It is easy to find your way around with the main functions like log in, sign up, casino, live casino and sports all clearly available at the top of the home screen as shown here.

Since its launch this brand has prided itself on being unique. Previously the website and loyalty program were ‘immersive’ with a cartoon-style ‘sumo’ character fronting the show, but this aspect of the experience has since been toned down for being too ‘child-friendly’. Nevertheless, with its blend of purple, lilacs and whites, Casumo still retains a sharpness and style that sets it apart from competitors today. Furthermore, throughout the website, account pages and communications the user journey is clear and easy to follow.

Finding Important Information

Before you register you can read important information like Terms and Conditions, Bonus Terms and Withdrawal Policy by following links in the footer of the site. Each of these load up in a new window that sits in front of the main site. It makes them nice and easy to read. There is also a useful Play Okay link that brings up advice for playing safely and responsibly.

Registration

Sign up is a simple 3-step process carried out in a pop-up window. You’ll be asked to enter your details one at a time including email, chosen username, password, full name, address, date of birth and mobile number.

It takes less than 2 minutes to complete. There is no further verification required until you deposit or withdraw enough to hit the KYC check thresholds set by Casumo. More on that in a moment.

Account Pages

The account area takes a little getting used to. There are two links – one for your main account page and one for the cashier.

The main account page has a Dashboard that shows your current level status and how far you have to go to ‘level-up’ in % terms. There is also a Verification section where you can upload documents for KYC checks, and finally a Valuables section where you can view current available offers like cashback or free spins.

To make a deposit or withdrawal you need to click your balance displayed under your account name on the screen. This gives you the option to deposit, withdraw or view an account history. Importantly, your deposit and withdrawal transactions are split out from your bets. You need to hit the links to flick between the two.

Finally, if you want to edit your personal information like email, mobile number or password, you should use the Your Settings link next to Promotions in the main nav.

Once you are familiar with the format, like most things at Casumo, the account area is easy to use.

Catalogue and Game Providers

One of the highlights of Casumo is their slot catalogue. It features over 3,200 games in total, covering all the biggest and best game providers and many of the smaller studios too. Names include NetEnt, Microgaming, Big Time Gaming, Relax Gaming, No Limit City, Thunderkick, ELK Studios, Play n Go, Push Gaming, Blueprint Gaming, Quickspin, WMS, Hacksaw Gaming and Yggdrasil.

With the exception of the Skill on Net sites Play OJO and Bacana Play (Over 4,500 games) Casumo has the biggest selection of games from any site we have reviewed.

Jackpot Slots

Casumo has a wide choice of Progressive Jackpots numbering 267 when we reviewed the site. This is a much wider selection than many rival sites have.

It includes the big progressive networked games from Microgaming (Mega Moolah), Relax Gaming (Dream Drop), Blueprint Gaming (Jackpot King) and NetEnt (Mega Fortune). There is also the full range of Daily Drop and Must Drop jackpots from Red Tiger which are guaranteed to payout within the specified time period.

In addition to these networked jackpots from the big providers you can also play on exclusive Casumo Jackpots which are available on games like Starburst, Book of Dead and Big Bass Bonanza. You’ll find a full list on the games page. These are opt-in jackpots with 10% added onto your stake if you want to take part. There are four in total – Mini, Minor, Major and Mega. The Mega is seeded at £90,000 and it regularly tops £1,000,000. You can opt into taking part in the jackpot from within any eligible game.

New Games

The new games area at Casumo has a huge list of 100s of games. Whilst that includes some very new releases – including Hacksaw’s Stormforged and Pragmatic’s The Red Queen at time of writing – there were also many games that were months old. It’s great to see that new titles are added on a weekly, or even daily basis as they are released, but Casumo could improve by taking out some of the older titles that don’t really class as ‘new’ any more.

Megaways Slots

There is no main Megaways category in the game menu at Casumo. There is a small selection of the most popular Megaways games on the home page but for more choice hit the Slots, then Filter button. You can then filter by Megaways and bring up a list of 176 games including Monopoly Megaways, Temple Tumble Megaways and Legacy of Ra Megaways. This is a wider selection than you will find at almost all other slot sites.

Slingo Games

Casumo also has a selection of around 30 Slingo games to try. This is not the full catalogue. Some of the originals like Slingo Riches are NOT available. However, there are some excellent branded games like Slingo Rainbow Riches, Slingo Lobstermania and Slingo Cleopatra.

Game Menu, Search Functions and Game Window

From the home page you can browse a long list of highlights including Popular, Top New Games, Casumo Loves, Drops and Wins, Megways, Must Drop Jackpots and Slingo Games.

But if you really want to get to grips with the slot selection the best way to do so is to hit the Slots link on the main Games menu then use the sort and filter options. This allows you to search by oldest to newest or A to Z as well as by game provider. This is useful but could be improved by further filters for searching by paylines, RTP, variance, maximum win and other options. You get that kind of functionality at sites with big game lists like Play OJO.

The game window itself is neat and well designed. When you are spinning a slot there are options to quick deposit and open live chat without leaving the game you are in. You can also view your balance and bonus balance and view Reel Race leaderboards, all updated in real time.

Slots RTP Settings at Casumo

Some game suppliers give casino operators a choice of up to 5 Return to Player (RTP) options for their games. As part of our review process we checked the RTP settings on a selection of slots we know to have more than one option to find out what setting Casumo were running with.

This is what we found:

NOTE: These settings were verified on 22nd May 2023.

From this sample you can see that Casumo run their games at the mid to upper end of the RTP range. This is about average for the UK and overall Casumo performs reasonably well for slots RTP.

Live Dealer 9/10

Live Dealer action at Casumo is provided by three big names in Evolution Gaming, Playtech and Pragmatic Play. This is a wider choice than you find at most rival sites where usually just one or two providers are represented.

Tables from Evolution and Pragmatic Play are entirely shared with other casinos. Playtech host two or three exclusive Casumo tables where only punters from this casino can play. So if you want branded tables and your own dealer, filter by Playtech in the main menu.

Of the three providers, Evolution Gaming are the bigger by some margin. Their lobby will be filled with upwards of 50,000 players at some times. They also offer the widest selection of tables with more than 150 Blackjacks, 30 Roulettes, and a superb set of Gameshows that include the popular Crazy Time and Lightning Roulette. Of course, Pragmatic Play have now created a live version of their popular Sweet Bonanza slot too which gets a lot of attention in their lobby.

Loyalty Promotions 10/10

Casumo built its reputation over the last decade on its gamified loyalty program and it remains a core feature of the site and a reason to play here. All bets placed in the live casino or on slot games are rewarded with loyalty points. These points go towards filling up a progress bar which triggers a level up when full. At each level the rewards get bigger and better, with free spins, deposit bonuses and cash drops being the principle advantages.

According to their home page, the size of the Casumo site is such that on a daily basis they hand out over 30,000 rewards like these, and over 350,000 free spins each year.

This is a great rewards program though it is not as strong as it used to be. It is no longer made clear on the site how much wagering is required to move between levels, nor are there any guarantees to say what bonuses you will receive when you arrive at each level. When we asked support we were told that this information is no longer given out.

This may be a result of interference from the regulators in the UK, nevertheless the program remains strong. In our time on the site we moved quickly between levels and earned many spins along the way.

Casumo Reel Races 

Reel Races have always been a huge part of what Casumo is about. These game tournaments are found at many online casinos but few run them as well as Casumo. The number and size of tournaments has changed over the years – there used to be one every hour at least and a headline race each evening at around 8pm but now there are just one or two per day. However, the prize pools are just as good with £2,000 or more up for grabs in most tournaments.

The great part about the Reel Races at Casumo is that the leaderboards are totally integrated into the games so you can watch yourself rising up the table in real time as you win (and dropping down when you don’t). Races are always opt-in and the TOP 10 players are GUARANTEED a prize at the end of the race.

Races are run on a variety of slots including new releases which keeps things interesting. Recent tournaments when we tested Casumo included Big Bamboo (Push Gaming), Magic Piggy (Hacksaw Gaming) and Jammin Jars (Push Gaming).

For slots fans, the Reel Races are a big reason to play at Casumo, so if you do join then we recommend that you check them out for yourself. This screen shot shows a Candy Stars reel race in action with the leaderboard displayed on the left of the standard game screen.

Finally, check out the Dashboard on the account page at Casumo. This gives you a really good snapshot of your current status, including any Reel Races you are involved in and how far you have to go to complete your next level.

Cashier Options 9/10

The cashier at Casumo covers all the most popular payment services including debit cards, eWallets and pre-paid cards like Paysafecard. You can also deposit with ApplePay.

Casumo has been built to cater for lower spending customers as well as high spenders. So you can deposit just £5 on bank cards and £10 with any other option and withdraw less than £10 (but with a £3 fee).

Payout Speed 10/10

We tested the withdrawal times at Casumo across a variety of payment options. We found the processing times to be very good.

• £10 to Mastercard – Wednesday at 12.12pm – processed at 12.13 on Wednesday – 1 minute
• £10 to Skrill – Friday at 16.27 – processed at 16.29 on  Friday – 2 minutes

Two withdrawals showed this to be one of the fastest casinos for processing transactions in our tests.

Customer Support 7/10

Casumo support are available on live chat or email. This is a 24/7 service available via the Contact Us link on the website. At time of writing there was no phone support service available at Casumo.

Our experience of support at Casumo was a mixed one. Here are some of the issues we encountered.

Firstly, Live chat was initially with an AI Bot – this is a frustrating experience as they don’t always understand your question and you frequently get passed onto an agent after a minute of two of misunderstandings. At that point, the real agents are quite slow to respond – normally 5 minutes or more, so the whole experience was problematic.

A few days after registration and first deposit we were asked to verify source of funds through the account message system, but when we queried it with an agent on live chat they did not know why were being asked for that information and told us to ignore the message. This took up our time and left us a bit confused as to what the original message had been posted for – was it a mistake?

It wasn’t all bad though.

Generally, the live chat agents were well-informed. And we also found the comprehensive FAQ section to be very useful. They cover everything from your account and the cashier to main terms and conditions, technical queries and licensing information.

KYC Process 9/10

Know Your Customer (KYC) checks are inevitable if you become a regular at any UK casino nowadays. That means you will be asked to provide documents verifying your ID and payment option if you decide to deposit and withdraw significant sums.

We tested the KYC process at Casumo. We uploaded our documents – driver license and utility bill – through the upload pages in our account. Verification took less than an hour which is good.

Casumo does have a reputation for slow verification times, particularly following recent fines issued by the UK Gambling Commission. However, we did not experience this ourselves.
