The All Slot Sites Verdict

PlayOJO is a top-quality all-round casino. Its massive game library is a big pull factor, with advanced filter functions that make it fun and easy to explore whether you’re on desktop or the mobile app. We also love their busy promotions calendar which combines regular free spins deals with a flexible cashback that you can cashout whenever you want. There is also a level-up based rewards program, tournaments and prize draws.

In fact, OJO is not far off matching our highest-ranking casinos. However, some unfavourable RTP settings, some issues with the AI support assistant, and a lack of transparency on the wager to rewards ratio on the level-up program, meant it felt just short.

Safety and Trust

7.3

A UK-licensed operator with a full suite of responsible gambling tools but some negative coverage on Trustpilot and AskGamblers.

What Is PlayOJO and Is It Safe?

PlayOJO is a casino and bingo site run by Skill on Net, a gambling technology company who operate more than 40 casinos under their UK Gambling Commission license (account number 39326).

OJO is the biggest brand on the platform by some way, with several TV ad campaigns raising its profile. It’s also widely regarded in the industry. The site has received many awards over the years including Mobile Casino Operator of the Year (eGaming Review, 2023), Casino Operator of the Year (eGaming Review, 2024) and Slots Operator of the Year (eGaming Review, 2024).

We should tell you that this operator’s record is not entirely clean. It was fined over £300,000 in 2023 for anti-money laundering and social responsibility failings. However, in response Skill on Net committed to enhanced AML and safer gambling processes and they now meet the standards required under their license.

This has all been factored into our Safety and Trust score for PlayOJO.

What Do Players Say About PlayOJO?

Despite its status as a well-known casino, OJO doesn’t enjoy an entirely positive reputation based on its Trustpilot and AskGamblers' profiles. There are more than 15,000 reviews on Trustpilot, generating a TrustScore of 2.2/5. Many reviewers highlight issues with slow withdrawals and verification as well as poor customer support. We see a similar pattern on AskGamblers where OJO scores 6.9/10 from 446 reviews.

We had no such problems making withdrawals – test payments were processed instantly – but we did find the support service to be a little frustrating at times. We discuss our experiences in that area towards the end of this review.

Responsible Gambling ToolsOJO provides basic RG tools required under UK regulation like deposit limits and time-outs and supplements these with a stand-out feature only seen on Skill on Net sites: a Safe Mate hub. Here, players can easily track their gambling activity and monitor risk indicators.
GAMSTOPPlayOJO is on the GAMSTOP program. Players can exclude from all UK-licensed gambling sites form one place.
Game AuditsOJO publish information about software audits under ‘Credentials’ on their site.  Test houses including eCorga and iTech Labs test RTP rates and game outcomes.
Bonus TermsOJO have a rule that there are no wagering requirements or win caps for free spins.
Complaints ProcessOJO publishes an official procedure for dealing with complaints although it’s not that easy to find. It appears halfway down the terms and conditions page without a direct link from anywhere else on the website. It commits to responding to official complaints within 96 hours and nominates eCorga as an independent dispute resolution provider.
Site SecurityOJO has an up-to-date security certificate and operates on a secure connection.
Player Balance ProtectionPlayer balances are held separately to business funds in case of operator insolvency, an important safety feature for anyone spending large amounts. This level of protection is defined as ‘medium’ by the Gambling Commission.

What Deposit and Withdrawal Options Are There?

Banking options include several popular services. Debit cards, Paypal, Apple Pay, Trustly and instant banking are all accepted. A few more eWallets like Neteller or Skrill would make a more complete cashier, but most players preferences will be covered with this selection.

What we particularly liked about OJO was the low minimum transactions - £10 for deposits, and zero for withdrawals. That means we could withdraw just £1 if we wanted to. That combines nicely with the winnings-in-cash free spins policy. How often do you win just a few quid on free spins and have to play it back through because of a £10 minimum withdrawal? Here, you can genuinely do what you want with it, including putting it on your bank card.

At the other end of the scale there is a default £10,000 withdrawal cap but even that can be removed temporarily by speaking to the support team.

Here is a summary of the cashier options, fees and limits at Play OJO.

How Fast Are Withdrawals?

Very fast! In testing we made two withdrawals of £10, one to Mastercard and one to Apple Pay. Both were processed instantly.

OJO asked us to provide bank details as a fallback option in case Mastercard rejected the transaction. This is a bit unusual, but it’s just a safety option and not mandatory.

After making our second deposit we were asked to provide a picture of our bank card to verify ownership. We uploaded the picture through our account, and it took just 36 minutes to verify. That’s quick and we have no complaints, although the instructions in the email were a bit unclear and first time round the image was rejected which was a bit frustrating.

What Slot Games Are Available?

This is where OJO really excelled. Close to 80 game providers power the list. Maybe a few less than we see on other big casinos, but it hardly matters because all the major studios are represented, and we couldn’t see any big omissions.

The slots list itself numbers over 7,800. During our test sessions we enjoyed playing the latest Nolimit City games like San Quentin Man Hunt and Punk Rocker 3. But whatever your preferred slot style, software provider or volatility level, it’s unlikely that you will exhaust this catalogue, such is the breath of choice.

What’s important too is that OJO haven’t just delivered a list that big, but they’ve given us the tools to explore it with. The search and filter options are some distance ahead of those found at other sites. As well as standard options to search by game name, provider or category like New or Trending, we could filter by stake levels, player ratings or even Hot / Cold to look for games on a payout streak. We could also filter in stages. For example, we looked for Nolimit City slots, then only those with a 10p minimum bet, then only those with a 4 or 5 star player rating.

Every game has a useful Info panel too, which we could view by hitting the ‘I’ button on the top right of the logo. It told us who made the slot, what the average player rating was and how many reels and rows it had. We could also rate a game out of 5 stars ourselves to let the OJO community know what we thought of it.

All these features made searching easier and more efficient.

What Are RTP Rates Like?

RTP rates at OJO are mixed. We found several popular titles running at low settings including Book of Dead (91.25%) and Fire in the Hole 3 (92.08%). However, ten of the games we sampled were configured above 94% which creates a stronger RTP profile than some competitors we have reviewed.

Does PlayOJO Have Progressive Jackpots?

Yes, OJO does host progressive jackpots. The list is extensive at over 700 games and covers all of the following popular networks:

  • Mega Moolah (Games Global)
  • WowPot (Games Global)
  • Dream Drop Jackpots (Relax Gaming)
  • Jackpot King (Blueprint Gaming)
  • Rapid Fire Jackpots (Blueprint Gaming)
  • Daily or Must Drop Jackpots (Red Tiger)
  • Mega Jackpots (IGT)
  • Diamond Mystery Jackpots (Green Tube)
  • Power Play Jackpots (Playtech)

This is a mouth-watering selection that far exceeds what many competitor sites offer. Our personal favourites are the Dream Drop games from Relax Gaming which are seeded at £1,000,000 and hooked up to some of Relax Gaming's best slots like Volatile Vikings and Hellcatraz so there's great gameplay too.

Live Dealer and Virtual Tables

OJO also goes to town on the live dealer coverage. Most operators think its enough to integrate Pragmatic Play and Evolution. Here you also get the full Playtech suite, including real streams from Vegas casinos like MGM, a selection of tables from specialist studios like Ezugi, Stakelogic and Raw.

That is a massive range of games, all in many formats with low to high stakes. Blackjacks include classic American 21 alongside Turbo Blackjack and Power Blackjack. Roulettes include American and European, Speed Roulette and Lighting Roulette. There are also popular TV-style gameshows like Crazy Time, Mega Ball 100 and Sweet Bonanza Candyland.

Our tests found that streams loaded fast and were stable on desktop and mobile.

PlayOJO Live Casino
Live Casino choice at PlayOJO

Traditional video versions of table games are mixed in with the live dealer tables including 32 blackjacks and 32 roulettes. You can also use the search bar to filter by ‘card games’ and get a list of casino hold ‘em, craps and baccarat.

The selection is small but it does include some interesting formats like Play n Go’s Multi hand Blackjack, GVG’s American Twenty One High Roller Blackjack, and European Blackjack, also by GVG. The roulettes include Inspired’s 20p Roulette, GVG’s European Roulette and Edict’s French Roulette.

Slingo, Scratchcards, Crash Game and Instants

Over 200 alternative gambling games are available at OJO. Unlike other casinos here they are not hidden amongst the traditional casino games. Each group has its own category – Slingos, virtual sport, crash games, scratch cards, video bingo and arcade – making them easy to find.

Is The Sign-Up Offer Good?

New players at PlayOJO who deposit £10 or more get 80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza with winnings paid in cash. The spins are worth 10p each, valid for 24 hours and there is no cap on winnings.

This deal offers reasonable value, with £8 worth of spins for a £10 deposit. It’s also very easy to understand as you can keep everything you win. There are a few comparable deals listed in the table below. A good alternative option would be MrQ, which gives 100 spins on Big Bass Splash for a £10 deposit.

Ongoing Promotions

OJO runs one of the busiest promotions schedules we have tested. It is one of the only casinos in our lists to offer both cashback and a loyalty program, and it compliments these with weekly free spins offers, plenty of prize draws and tournaments.

Free spins offers dropped at random one or two times a week, with notifications on email and in our account. We had to keep an eye out for these because the promotion period was often short - one or two days - and if we came in too later, we couldn't claim the deal.

Free Spins at OJO
Claiming free spins at PlayOJO

The cashback feature here is excellent because it’s properly flexible, allowing the player to cash out whenever they want, rather than dropping once a week or month. It’s collected in an OJOplus balance which increases as you play. When we wanted to cash-in we just hit ‘collect’ and the money was transferred to our real cash balance. It’s simple, although unlike other cashback offers there is no transparency on the ratio of wagering to cashback, so it’s less transparent.

Complimenting the OJOplus cashback is a level-up program called OJO Levels. As we spent money, we earned points that progressed us through the program. Levels are represented in a graphic on the app and website. With most new levels, a spin on a bonus wheel is awarded for the chance to win prizes like free spins or scratchcards.

During our tests we went up a level from 1 to 2 and received 5 free spins on the Peter and Sons' slot, Robin - Sherwood Marauders via the Wheel.

OJO Levels
Progress on the OJO Levels
OJO Wheel

Again, it’s a simple loyalty feature but there is no information on how much wagering is needed to earn each point on your journey. That’s fine for some, but if you like to know exactly what you’re going to get and when you’re going to get it, this might not be the site for you.

Finally, OJO also run an impressive array of tournaments, prize draws and other promotions. These are listed under Kickers in the account. During our testing they included a World Cup-themed arcade game with 1,000s of free spins to win. There were also free roll and buy-in slots tournaments with £1,000s cash prizes.

Website and App

8.1

What Is The Website Like?

The website is bright and coloful and a step up from the templated white labels found on the Skill on Net platform. Its vivid style reflects the brand’s motto, ‘feel the fun’.

In the game area there is a lot of content to organise with so many categories and sub-categories but OJO does it well and it doesn’t feel too tightly squeezed into the available space.

The experience was not as good when we browsed around the account area. There are several different screen layouts for the cashier, the settings and the Safe Mate area which opens in an unbranded section, which feels confusing. We also noticed when making a deposit that our balance didn’t automatically update although behind the scenes the payment had gone through.

It’s a little odd that after presenting a premium game menu other areas of the site have these quirks and it took a few goes at using the site to get used to them. It didn't affect our overall enjoyment of PlayOJO, but the very best platforms don't have these glitches.

Aside from the visuals, the overall performance was strong in our tests with fast or average load times for pages and games. We didn’t encounter any broken pages or failed game loads.

Does PlayOJO Have a Mobile App?

Yes, OJO is also available on a mobile app that you can download from the App Store or from Google Play. We downloaded it to an iPhone 17 with iOS 26. It delivered the same experience as the website with the full game list and all the cashier and responsible gambling functions too.

It requires an iOS of 13.0 or later which means its compatible with most phones. The app has a 4.4/5 average rating from 18,000 reviews which gives you an idea of its quality.

Customer Support

7.1

The support service at OJO is delivered on live chat and email and supplemented with a comprehensive FAQs page.

The support team were efficient and professional when we could get through to them, with an average wait time of under 10 minutes. However, we had to negotiate our way past Marcus, the AI assistant, first. He does his best to resolve any issue on his own, and for basic queries, he is good. However, where we had an account issue related to free spins, he couldn’t find an answer and kept asking for more information. This became frustrating and he only handed us over on third time of asking.

If you don’t want to speak with Marcus you can get quite a lot of useful information from the FAQs area which answers a range of questions on key topics well.
