What sets White Hat Gaming sites apart from rivals like Jumpman Gaming or Dragonfish, is that there is more differentiation between them. The best White Hat sites – like Dream Vegas or Miami Dice – have a distinctive theme that sets them apart from one another. Temple Nile is a good example of this. The team have designed the site nicely around a theme that is familiar to slots fans who enjoy Egyptian-styled games like Book of Dead by Play n Go or Eye of Horus by Blueprint Gaming.

As well as the temple-themed logo, the home page features video clips including the pyramids and a Cleopatra-style hostess and this is carried through into the promotions with a Temple Bazaar loyalty shop where you can trade points for gifts.

In short this is a compelling website which is fun to use and easy to navigate. It feels more sophisticated than other White Hat sites we have reviewed. The game menu filters are more powerful than at PlayGrand for example and the design is more eye-catching.

There is room for improvement where informational pages are concerned however. The support area is minimal with no FAQs or phone number. For comparison, head to an independent casino like Casumo or 888 and you’ll see how an in-depth FAQ can add to the trust-factor at a gambling site.

Sign Up and First Deposit

The registration form is a simple 3-step one you find at most online casinos. As well as full name and address you will also have to give you mobile number and email address. This is standard practice and with all this information Temple Nile can verify your ID and age behind the scenes without requiring any further documentation. The whole process takes less than one minute.

We made a first deposit of £20 with Paypal. The process was smooth and the money was immediately available to play. This allowed us to claim a £20 match and 60 spins on Eye of Horus slot.

Like all other White Hat Gaming sites, Temple Nile has an ‘opt-in’ bonus set up. This means you must choose to accept a bonus, or not. For the purposes of testing we opted-in to the bonus.

With over 2,500 slots from more than 100 game suppliers, the White Hat Gaming games catalogue is bigger and better than most rivals. Skill on Net are the only other white label operator in the UK with more games to offer. You can experience that at either Play OJO or BacanaPlay. The only prominent providers whose games are not available here are Quickspin, Novomatic and Yggdrasil.

New Slots

Browsing through the ‘new’ games section of the site it’s easy to see that Temple Nile are updating their lists on a regular basis. We found slots that had only been released in the last 7 days including Wild Bandolier by Play n Go and Leprechaun Heist by Relax Gaming.

Jackpot Slots

Progressive Jackpot fans also have a wide selection of games to play here too. We counted 144 in total. There are Mega Moolahs from Microgaming, Drop and Wins from Pragmatic Play, Jackpot King slots from Blueprint Gaming and Dream Drop Jackpots from Relax Gaming. There are also more than 50 Must Drop jackpots from Red Tiger including games like Great Gold and Gods of Troy.

Megaways Slots

If you are a Megaways fan then Temple Nile is a good option for you. There is no separate Megaways section in the game menu, but typing ‘Megaways’ into the search bar brings up a list of more than 140 games. As well as Big Time Gaming classics like Bonanza and Extra Chilli there are also many modern takes like Temple Tumble Megaways from Relax Gaming and Power of Thor Megaways from Pragmatic Play.

Slingo Games

Temple Nile has a small-ish selection of Slingo Games to play as well. There are around 30 in total including Rainbow Riches Slingo, Slingo Riches and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Slingo. Game Menu, Search Functions and Game Window

On desktop the games area looks superb. There are plenty of filters to view games through, like Popular, New, Must Go Jackpots and Drop and Win. You can also re-format the games into a list or rows with bigger icons. Or you could also search by Provider, a feature which is really useful if you have a favourite.

Of course, it would have been good to be able to carry out more sophisticated searches by number of paylines, top payout, RTP and variance. You get this at sites like BacanaPlay. It’s not essential, but it can improve your chances of finding new games you might enjoy.

Once you load up a slot the game window is quite basic though. To begin, the site recommends 9 similar games each time you load one up which can be a bit annoying. There is a Quick Deposit link but it closes the game and takes you to the cashier so don’t click mid spin! And there is no option to search for more games without retuning to the main site either.

Slots RTP at Temple Nile

Some slot providers now offer their games with more than one RTP setting and leave it to the casino operator to choose which to run the games with. As part of our review we checked 10 games with more than one RTP setting to see which setting Temple Nile had chosen. This is what we found:

In this sample, Temple Nile are choosing to run games at the upper end of the range of RTPs available. This is quite typical for a UK casino. The site that performed the best in this test was Mr Q where all games were run at the optimum setting.

Live Dealer 8/10

The Live Dealer experience at Temple Nile is as impressive as the slots one. They are all shared tables so you are mixing with players from other casinos. This is standard practice at smaller sites that don’t have the player numbers to populate exclusive tables.

What there is here is choice, and lots of it. Evolution Gaming top the bill but there are also tables from Pragmatic Play if you prefer.

To give you an idea of the scale, the Evolution Blackjack lobby runs around 150 tables with stakes ranging from 50p up to £100 per hand and a variety of formats like Lightning Blackjack and Power Blackjack. Loyalty Promotions 8/10

There is more promotional activity at Temple Nile than most of its sister sites in the White Hat group. However, I did notice that most events, and the loyalty program, appear to be targeted towards those with big budgets.

Firstly, there is a loyalty program in which you can earn Temple Tokens for every £1 wagered which can then be traded for tangible items in the Temple Bazaar. £10 wagered on slots gets you 2 tokens. I was also given 300 tokens with my first deposit to set me on my way.

Here are some of the items available in the Bazaar today:

• 100 Spins on Book of Dead: 1,900 tokens (wager £9,500)
• Mont Blonc Pen: 120,000 tokens (wager £600,000)
• Tag Heuer Watch: 660,000 tokens (wager £3,300,000)

Ok, so most of us won’t be claiming much more than a few bonus spins on games like Book of Dead. However, I was impressed to see that this site has gone beyond the standards set by most white labels by creating a bespoke program like this.

There is also a yearly £30,000 cash giveaway with just ONE winner takes all £30,000 prize. The entry requirements are steep with one ticket into the draw earned for every £500,000 wagered. A 3-monthly ‘Cleopatra’s Giveaway’ draw also awards £10,000 in luxury goods to one lucky player each time. Again, the entry requirements are steep. You’ll need to wager £100,000 to get one ticket.

Cashier Options 8/10

If you are looking to start with a low minimum deposit then Temple Nile is not your casino. The lowest deposit level here is £20 across all payment options. I recommend Spin and Win or Casumo (both £5 minimum deposit) if you are looking to start with a lower value transaction.

That aside, the cashier service at Temple Nile is good. There are no fees and I made deposits with both Paypal and Mastercard whilst testing and both were processed without any issues. There are a few popular services missing from the cashier including Google Pay, Apple Pay and Trustly, but all others are there.

Payout Speed 7/10

I made two withdrawals from my Temple Nile account during testing. The first was to Paypal at 17.20. on a Thursday. This was processed at 11.23am on the Friday morning – in just 18 hours. The second was to Mastercard at 13.30 on a Friday. This was processed in just 13 minutes.

Overall, withdrawal times in testing were very good.

Overall, our experience speaking with support agents – Mattaus and Courtney for the record – was very good. The response time was quick.  We were usually the first in the queue and never waited more than a minute to speak. When the ID verification tool wasn’t working, Mattaus was very helpful in offering to speed things along by passing our documents directly to the right team. And all questions on wagering requirements, withdrawal limits and games were dealt with helpfully.

Being picky, the site doesn’t have an FAQ section. It’s a small point but these can be useful for finding bits of information that might ordinarily be hidden away in opaque terms and conditions or privacy policies.

KYC Process 7/10

Temple Nile uses an automated verification tool that allows players to upload scans of their passport, driver license or ID card to prove their name, and utility bills or bank statements to prove their address.

In this way we were able to verify our ID in minutes rather than waiting for a member of the support team to check the documents which can take up to 48 hours at other sites, potentially causing serious delays to a first withdrawal.

This is relatively new technology and it’s not perfect. The tool failed to recognise our bank statement three times so in the end we scanned a utility bill instead. This was accepted on first upload. Putting that glitch aside, this is a big tick for Temple Nile and shows a willingness to address one of the more problematic areas of customer interaction.
