This is a great looking slot and if you’re into your Egyptian-themed games you’ll love the production. I didn’t find the gameplay to be particularly exciting  though. The only base game feature is the expanding wild and it showed up just 8 times over 200 spins, or once every 25 spins on average. It did produce the best win of the session however, a 99.9x when re-spins brought up THREE expanding wilds, shown in the screenshot. That was the best moment as the jackpot game didn’t trigger at any point. That appears to be a common characteristic of WowPot games where bonus features have proved to be difficult to trigger in our tests.
Overall the win rate was low for a medium variance slot too – just 16.5% of spins produced a win. Not a great session then, but it’s a good-looking game and who knows, on another day it may have produced a very different result.

The Ancient Egyptian theme is certainly nothing too out there or unique, but it is a firm favourite amongst many of us slots players, so no points deducted there. This one focuses on the Queen of Alexandria (who to most of us, is Cleopatra). Expect palm trees, sandstone pillars, pyramids in the background, the whole shebang.Â
The symbols are all beautifully illustrated and stick to the Egyptian theme. Think sphinxes, hieroglyphics, treasure, that kind of thing. To the left of the reels you’ll see the real time amounts of the four different jackpot levels on jewel-coloured slabs. It’s a really coherent theme, that’s crisp and clean, but nothing that we’ve not seen before.

The Queen of Alexandria Wowpot! slot features a 5-reel, 3-row structure with 10 paylines that run in both directions, thanks to the win both ways feature. This setup allows for winning combinations from left to right and right to left, effectively doubling the payout. Wins are achieved by landing three to five matching symbols on a payline, starting from either the leftmost or rightmost reel.
The paytable is divided into lower-value gemstones and higher-value symbols. The lower-paying symbols are glowing crystals with Egyptian icons which pay up to 2.5x the bet for a line of five. The higher-paying symbols include lucky 7s and a golden cat with the word ‘BAR’ written on it, paying up to 25x the stake for a line of five. Remember, because the game pays in both directions, full lines can effectively double these payouts.

The gameplay is almost identical to Starburst, so it’s not the most original, but Neon Valley Studios have at least picked one of the most successful games of all time to copy! Let’s take a look at how it all works.
Expanding Wilds and Re-Spins
Cleopatra herself is the wild symbol and she can land on reels 2, 3, or 4 only. Every wild that you land on these reels will expand to cover the full reel. Normal or expanded, wilds can substitute for all regular pay symbols. They can also trigger a respin when they land.
If a wild triggers a respin then all wilds on the grid become sticky and the remainder of the reels spin again. Any additional wilds that you land on the respin also become sticky and you get another respin.
You can get a maximum of 3 respins in a row.Â
WowPot Jackpots
The Wowpot Jackpot wheel feature is triggered at random, but the likelihood increases the more progressive diamond symbols you collect. These are the tiny diamonds attached to normal pay symbols on the middle three reels only.Â

The Final Verdict
Neon Valley Studios has essentially taken the winning mechanics of Starburst, stuck on an ever-popular Ancient Egyptian theme, borrowed the enormous Wowpot! Jackpot network and called it a day. The result certainly can’t be called original, but it’s fun. All of the bits and pieces that Neon Valley Studios has appropriated are great choices!
The win both ways mechanic is always a crowd pleaser and the sticky wilds and respins add to the money making potential of this slot. The huge progressive jackpot on offer is obviously what most people are here for, but there’s plenty else to enjoy too. The non-progressive max win of 500x the stake isn’t very inspiring, nor is the 92.5% RTP, but everything else is really pretty good. It’s not going to be the next blockbuster slot that’s loved for decades, but it’s great fun and will definitely appeal if you love the Ancient Egyptian theme.
