Website UX & Registration 9/10

Bacana Play is certainly eye-catching. Like its sister site, Play OJO, it puts fun at the heart of everything it offers. This is a modern casino with a bright colorful site. The home page – screenshot below – is absolutely stacked with information including the sign-up offer, the most popular games, a news wall with latest events and a scrolling list of game providers. I found it a little overwhelming and unnecessarily busy in places, but it serves its purpose. Unusually, the burger menu is situated top right rather than top left which made it a little hard to find when you first arrive. And to confuse things further it switches to the left once you area logged in, so watch out for that.

Unusually for a gambling site there is a big picture showing the Bacana Play team and a profile of key members on the About Us page. I’ve not seen this approach before but it does add to the sense that this is a friendly, trustworthy site.

Sign up is a 3-step process. The form is nice and easy to read and takes about 90 seconds to complete. You will be required to enter your mobile number and use an SMS code sent to your phone to verify it. This is unusual but a feature of Skill on Net sites. It adds another step to the registration process but takes just seconds and as long as you have your mobile to hand it’s no bother.

Once registered you can deposit, withdraw, upload verification documents and set limits all through your account pages. It’s easy to use, though the bonus information was a little confusing. My £10 match bonus was displayed under ‘ACTIVE BONUSES’ but I could not find my free spins. Eventually I found them displayed as a ‘Reward’ in the main drop-down menu. I needed to click there to activate them and start playing.

I also found the display of wagering requirements in my account to be confusing too. Instead of simply displaying them as a cash amount, BacanaPlay display wagering requirements as ‘Redeem Points Required’.

In this case, my £10 welcome bonus is subject to a 30x wagering requirement of bonus plus deposit, or £600 in total (30x £20). To redeem 0.5 points I must wager £1. Therefore, my wagering requirements are displayed in my account as 300 points (0.5 x £600).

Over time I may get used to this but initially I found this configuration to be confusing particularly as I needed to search through the terms and conditions to find the ratio of wagers to points redeemed.

Megaways Slots

BacanaPlay has a selection of 155 Megaways slots. You can find them by hitting the filter icon next to the search bar. Then hit ‘Megaways’ under the Game Tag option. Game Menu, Search Functions and Game Window

Skill on Net ranks as one of the best platforms for slots players in the UK. There is such a huge choice here. And what really makes it is the menu filter system that allows you to search through the catalogue by game types, providers and other categories.

I clicked the search button then the filter icon next to the search box to bring up the filter options shown below. Useful game tags include things like ‘Drop and Wins’, ‘Jackpots’ and ‘Megaways’. I could also search by games with a ‘Star Rating’ of 4 or more, or a minimum bet of just 10p. It’s a great system and useful if you are looking for new games to try and don’t know where to start.

We tested our luck on a buy-in tournament with 20 spins on Spinning Wilds slot by Green Valley Games. £1 bought us 20 spins with the option to rebuy unlimited times. The execution was a bit confusing. To claim your spins you must go back into your account and look under ‘Rewards’ where they will be listed after you have bought in. BacanaPlay has very few deposit and withdrawal options. It just restricted to Visa, Mastercard and Paypal. There is no Skrill, Neteller or Paysafecard. Minimum deposits are low and there are no fees but withdrawals start at £20.

I tested the withdrawal to Mastercard. A withdrawal of £20 was requested at 11.05am. I received an email confirming that the transaction had been processed by BacanaPlay at 6.30am the following day. This is under 24 hours but not as quick as some other slot sites in the UK.

Strangely, once you are logged in the Help link is no longer available and you can only contact the support team on live chat.

This is an area of their service that needs improving. Once you load up the live chat app you will be greeted by a bot that will try to respond to your queries by providing pre-set answers. If you request to speak to a support agent you are told it can take up to 6 hours. This is very poor and it means any questions specifically relating to your account, your KYC checks or a withdrawal will take some time to resolve.

KYC Process 8/10

Account Verification was NOT required for my first deposit. However, in anticipation of requests for documents to verify my ID later, I did upload document scans via my account. You can see in the screenshot below that this can be done quickly via a link once you are logged in.

I submitted scans of my passport and a utility bill at around midday and 8am the following morning they had been checked and verified by the BacanaPlay team and I had an email to confirm that.
