The All Slot Sites Verdict
BacanaPlay is a great choice for those who prioritise game variety. It has a huge slots library, strong live casino and excellent search and filter tools that make it simple to explore and find the kind of slots you like. The underlying Skill on Net platform also give lots of depth across jackpots and instant games.
Like most sites, it’s not all perfect. Mixed RTP rates, lack of transparency in the loyalty scheme, and a few usability issues also means it loses a few points along the way.

What Is BacanaPlay and Is It Safe?
BacanaPlay is an online casino owned and operated by Skill on Net who are licensed by the UK Gambling Commission on account number 39326.
Skill on Net is an established white label operator, founded in 2005, who run more than 40 casinos on their platform, including PlayOJO and Slingo. They are also licensed in Ontario and the US.
BacanaPlay was designed firstly for the Portugese market but it is available to players in the UK as well. It includes all the safety and fair play features required by the regulator to run legally in this country.
| Responsible Gambling Tools | RG tools at BacanaPlay are basic. Players can set deposit limits, session time reminders, time-outs and self-exclude. Advanced options like loss limits or net deposit limits are not available. However, there is an innovative Safe Mate feature that provides summary data and graphs of your gameplay by time periods and game type. It also shows a problem gambling risk level and how that changes over time. This is exclusive to Skill on Net sites. |
| GAMSTOP | Players can exclude from all UK-licensed gambling sites using the GAMSTOP program accessed by a link on BacanaPlay. |
| Complaints Process | We had to dig deep to find information about how to make a complaint at BacanaPlay. The procedure is published, but only within the terms and conditions rather than on a dedicated complaints page or in the Help Centre. The operator has nominated eCOGRA as its alternative dispute resolution provider in the event of a dispute. |
| Player Balance Protection | A segregated bank account is used to hold player balances to protect them in case of insolvency. This level of protection is defined as ‘medium’ by the Gambling Commission. |
| Game Audits | BacanaPlay do not publish details of platform or game audits. However, all games provided to UK-licensed casinos must be audited by approved test houses for fair play and reliable RTP performance. |
| Site Security | BacanaPlay has a valid site security certificate and operates over a secure connection. |
Operator Fined By The Regulator
In 2023, SkillOnNet was fined more than £300,000 by the Gambling Commission for anti-money laundering and social responsibility failings. As part of the settlement the operator agreed to improved implementation of enhanced AML and safer gambling procedures. We have reflected this regulatory action in our scoring, although it does not change our view that BacanaPlay is a legitimate and safe gambling site.
What Do Players Say About BacanaPlay?
BacanaPlay has very little coverage on authority forums and review sites in the UK. However, the Portuguese version does have a good Trustpilot profile with a TrustScore of 3.8/5 from over 2,000 reviews.

What Deposit and Withdrawal Options Are There?
BacanaPlay supports debit card, Paypal, Apple Pay, Trustly and instant bank transfer for deposits and withdrawals. This covers the most popular options, but it’s a narrower line up than some casinos, particularly without Google Pay or Paysafecard.
The minimum deposit is £10, making the site accessible for players who like to start with smaller deposits. However, a £20 minimum on withdrawals feels unfair. We wanted to test a withdrawal at £10 but were unable to.
At least there are no fees, which is a plus.

Is There A Sign-Up Offer At BacanaPlay?
BacanaPlay currently offers 100 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza for a £10 deposit using the code BACANA.
On the surface, this is a decent low-entry offer. Big Bass Bonanza is a well-known slot, the deposit requirement is accessible, and there is no max cashout cap, which is better than some free spins deals we see elsewhere.
However, winnings are paid as bonus funds and come with a 10x wagering requirement, so it compares less favourably with other casinos in the UK market where winnings are paid in cash.
How Does BacanaPlay’s Welcome Offer Compare To Other Sites?
| Site | Offer | Spin Value | Eligible Game | Min Deposit / Wager | Wagering Requirement | Max Win |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BacanaPlay | 100 Spins | 10p | Big Bass Bonanza | £10 / £0 | 10x | No Limit |
| Midnite | 100 Spins | 10p | Big Bass Splash | £20 / £20 | 0x | No Limit |
| MrQ | 100 Spins | 10p | Big Bass Splash | £10 / £0 | 0x | No Limit |
| Kwiff | 200 Spins | 10p | Book of Dead | £10 / £20 | 0x | £250 |
| Pub Casino | 50 Spins | 20p | Oktobeer Fotunes | £10 / £10 | 0x | No Limit |
What Are Ongoing Promotions Like At BacanaPlay?
There are a lot of promotions for players who deposit regularly at BacanaPlay.
Whilst we were testing the site we were eligible for at least two different deposit-based free spins offers each week, and occasional no-deposit freebies. There were also leaderboards, provider-based tournaments and a level-up loyalty program.
Free Spins Deals – Winnings Paid In Bonus Funds
Free spins offers were not sign-posted in advance on the site. That meant we had to keep an eye on our in box, or turn our app notifications on, or we might miss one. The deals always followed a tiered structure, with deposits from £10 up to £25 typically earning between 50 and 125 free spins on a variety of games.
The number of free spins was larger than we have seen elsewhere, but the trade-off was that winnings are paid in bonus funds with a 10x wagering requirement, rather than cash. This appears to be the policy at BacanaPlay. If you want free spin without wagering requirements, you can try PlayOJO (another Skill on Net site) or MrQ (an independent casino).

Level Ups Loyalty Program
BananaPlay also run a loyalty program called MyLevels. As we wagered we earned points to progress towards the next level, tracked by a progress bar on the home page. At each new level a reward MAY be issued, but it’s not guaranteed.
We got 10 spins on Book of Books from Peter and Sons when we completed one level.
There is no transparency around the ratio of wagering to points or what will be awarded at each level. This is how BacanaPlay choose to run their loyalty program. So, if you want to know exactly how your wagering converts to levels, this won’t be for you.
Buy-In and Freeroll Leaderboards
Other promotions include daily £1 buy-in and freeroll slots leaderboards with cash prizes and free spins. The buy-ins are interesting because you play with tournament spins rather than your balance, accruing points for your wins.
You can monitor your position on the leaderboard and buy-in as many times as you like to try to climb to the top. For the freerolls we saw over 1,000 players entering, so the chances of hitting the top 10 and qualifying for a prize were low.

What Slot Games Are Available?
With over 7,800 slots from more than 70 providers in the list you won’t find many casinos with more choice. There are slots of every type from low variance classics like Starburst up to the very highest volatility, high max win games like Nolimit City’s Tombstone Slaughter (500,000x max win).
| Classics | Starburst, Book of Dead, Gates of Olympus, Reactoonz, Ghost Father, Rainbow Riches, Legacy of Dead, Gonzo's Quest, Fluffy Favourites, Bonanza, Wolf Gold |
| Megaways | Buffalo King Megaways, Madame Destiny Megaways, Big Bad Wolf Megaways, Temple of Treasure Megaways, Primal Megaways, Bison Rising Megaways |
| High Max Win | Tombstone RIP (300,000x), Tombstone Slaughter (500,000x), Peking Luck (180,000x), San Quentin 2: Death Row (200,000x), Max Megaways 2 (147,620x) |
| Series | Big Bass, Fishin' Frenzy, Pirots, Tropicool, Money Train, Toonz, Rich Wilde, John Hunter |
What made this site particularly fun to test out is the game filter functions which gave us lots of options to narrow down our search and explore game types. With a list this big that is essential but not many casinos get it right. Here, we could filter in stages. For example, we started by looking for New slots, then selected a few providers we liked, then only games with a 5 star player rating. That led us to Hacksaw Gaming’s latest release, the World Cup themed Le Football Fan.
Clicking a logo also brought up information about a game including paylines, reels and max bet so we could learn a bit more about it before choosing whether to go ahead and play. The only stat that was missing was the RTP.

What Are RTP Rates Like?
RTP rates at BacanaPlay were at best average, but usually poor.
We sampled 25 popular games across studios including Pragmatic Play, Play n Go and Nolimit City. Whilst Big Bass Splash (94.6%) and Big Bamboo (94.08%) were set to reasonable rates, other popular titles including Book of Dead (91.25%) and Starburst (92.05%) were operating at much lower RTP levels.
And whilst RTP rates are published in the games themselves, they are not available within the game menu or any page on the website which is disappointing.
| Slot Game | Slot Provider | RTP Rate at BacanaPlay |
|---|---|---|
| The Dog House | Pragmatic Play | 95.51% |
| Big Bass Splash | Pragmatic Play | 94.60% |
| Sugar Rush | Pragmatic Play | 94.50% |

Does BacanaPlay Have Progressive Jackpots?
Yes, the progressive jackpot selection is excellent. There are over 750 including the biggest networked games like Games Global’s Mega Moolah and WowPots and Relax Gaming’s Dream Drop slots. There are also many smaller progressives like Blueprint Gaming’s Rapid Fire jackpots.
What About Live Dealer and Virtual Tables?
The live dealer catalogue is diverse and compelling. We found tables and gameshows from Evolution Gaming, Pragmatic Play and Playtech as well as a selection of less high-profile studios like Stakelogic and Inspired Gaming.
That is significantly more choice than found at almost any other licensed casinos we have reviewed. It includes 100s of blackjack tables from low stakes up to VIP level, multiple roulettes, baccarat and the most popular gameshows like Monopoly Live and Crazy Time.

The virtual table selection was harder to identify because these are mixed in with the live listings. However, we estimate over 50 including high quality blackjacks like First Person Blackjack from Evolution Gaming.
Are There Any Other Games?
Under ‘Instants’ BacanaPlay lists a mix of more than 200 Slingo, scratchcards, plinko, crash games and arcade games. The range is better than most sites offer and nicely curated with sub-categories for each game type laid out clearly in the menu.

How Is BacanaPlay’s Website?
BacanaPlay’s website uses the familiar SkillOnNet template, so anyone who has played at sister sites like PlayOJO will recognise the basic layout straight away. The design is bright, modern and easy enough to navigate. Overall, it has the feel of a fun gaming platform rather than serious high-end gambling.
Like many white labels it’s not perfect. Whilst page and game load times were fast, we did encounter a few usability issues where the quality of the navigation and content was inconsistent. The most noticeable example was when the Help link disappeared after we logged in, so we could no longer access FAQs. And whilst browsing terms and conditions and safer gambling pages, text formatting was messy and footer navigation disappeared.
These things are not deal breakers, but they indicate that BacanaPlay isn’t amongst the top tier of SkillOnNet brands.
| Page | Average Load Time | Speed Benchmarking |
|---|---|---|
| Home Page | 0.98s | Fast |
| Game Lobby | 2.2s | Fast |
| Promotions Page | 1.7s | Fast |
Does BacanaPlay Have a Mobile App?
Yes, there is a mobile app available from the App Store and Google Play. We downloaded and installed it to an iPhone 17 with iOS 26. It took less than 30 seconds.
We tested the iPhone version. The overall design is clean and easy to use. The game lists are very readable as game thumbnails are well spaced out, and overall browsing to games we wanted was easy. When using the filter menu, the close button sat partly off-screen, making it awkward to dismiss at times, but that was the only significant usability issue we found.

BacanaPlay offers 24/7 live chat and email support. This is the basic level of access most casinos offer. Our experience with the service was mixed.
The live chat is fronted by an AI assistant called Marcus. For simple questions it works reasonably well and can point you towards basic account or bonus information quickly enough. However, when we raised a more specific issue around document verification, things became frustrating. The assistant struggled to deal with the query properly, we got stuck in a loop, and the AI layer ended up adding friction rather than solving the problem. Eventually we were put through to an agent who resolved the issue in minutes.
Our experience using email was better. When we contacted support about Mega Spins credits, we received a reply within 8 minutes, which is a very good response time by casino standards. The answer was clearer and more useful than the automated live chat responses, and it left a better overall impression of the support team.
BacanaPlay also has a decent FAQ section covering common topics such as account issues, bonuses and verification. However, during testing the Help link disappeared when we were logged in, which is very poor usability.
