Whilst ultimately all White Hat casinos offer the same games and cashier, their websites have come with a wide variety of creative themes over the years. In this instance PlayGrand projects a sophisticated, elegant feel that is less gaudy than sister sites like Dream Vegas or Miami Dice. A black background overlaid with a smart silver and grey font with pink buttons gives the whole site a high-class VIP feel that will likely appeal to high rollers out there, without being too showy.

Beyond the colors and stylings, the functionality of Play Grand is the same as you will find at any other White Hat site. The home page simply shows a selection of games and the sign-up offer. It’s simple and neat but PlayGrand is very much a typical white label slot site. It’s functional, with a nice identity, but without any of the depth of a big brand like Casumo, 888 or Play OJO. For example, here the help pages are sparse. There is no FAQs section and only a link to Live Chat.

But if you are not bothered about the trappings of a big casino brand then PlayGrand serves its purpose.

Sign Up and First Deposit

Registration is a simple 3-step process with the usual details required including name, address, email address and mobile number. I was done in just over a minute with no glitches and without any further ID checks I could deposit and play.

I made my first deposit with Paypal.

PlayGrand is one of those sites that requires you to select a bonus if you wish to claim one. You won’t receive it automatically. This is made clear on the deposit page where you can choose to ‘Continue Without Bonus’ or ‘Add Bonus’. Personally, I like the option to claim or go without. If you don’t like the particular wagering requirements or withdrawal restrictions at a particular site then you can choose to make a straight deposit.

For the purposes of testing I opted-in to the bonus and made a £10 deposit with Paypal. There was a lag of around 10 seconds whilst the transaction was processed, but it was successful and my bonus balance and real cash balance updated immediately.

What you most definitely are guaranteed of with a White Hat Gaming site is a massive game catalogue. I counted 108 providers in the list that pops up when I chose to select a game by supplier on the site. The total number of games is hard to ascertain but is generally quoted at over 2,500.

In fact, it is much easier for me to tell you which game providers are NOT featured than which are. Notable omissions then are Quickspin, Novomatic and Yggdrasil. Putting aside those few, though not insignificant omissions (no Sticky Bandits or Book of Ra) there is much to enjoy here. White Hat have integrated many smaller, cultish or up and coming providers alongside the old favourites. So, Hacksaw Gaming, Nolimit City and Stormcraft sit comfortably with NetEnt, Microgaming and IGT.

Jackpot Slots

The Jackpot selection at PlayGrand is good with more than 80 in total. This included the

Mega Moolah series from Microgaming, Dream Drops from Relax Gaming and Jackpot Kings from Blueprint Gaming. Surprisingly, there were no Mega Fortune games from NetEnt however.

New Slots

I could also see that the game catalogue is regularly updated with new games. Fresh content at the time of writing included games like Rotten by Relax Gaming and Wild Falls 2 by Play n Go. This is an important gauge of how well-managed a casino is. Some sites we review do not update their lists regularly so to see new games drop in every week is a good sign.

Megaways Slots

PlayGrand has a selection of 170 Megaways slots to try. You can find them by hitting the Slot Games link in the main game menu, then the Megaways button. This is a larger choice than you will find at most other UK slot sites. Game Menu, Search Functions and Game Window

PlayGrand have made it easy to search for games you like by name using the search box, or by game provider. On the desktop the game supplier list overlays on the right and you can just click a name to bring up a list of that supplier’s games. There are also general categories like Top Games (presumably the most popular), New Games, Megaways™ Slots, Slingo Games, or Jackpot Slots.

The search function for such a large catalogue is reasonable, but it could be improved. Rival sites like BacanaPlay on the Skill on Net label, use many more filters to enable players to search by stake range, paylines, variance and jackpot size as well. For me, when the game catalogue is this big I want to explore and find new games. Having those filters at my fingertips would make the site much better to use.

Nevertheless, for quality and quantity of games, PlayGrand scores very highly.

Slots RTP at Play Grand Casino

Some slot providers now offer their games with up to 5 different RTP settings and leave at to the casino operator to choose which one to run the games at. Nolimit City, Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming, Play n Go and Just For The Win all have multiple RTP settings in their games. We verified the RTP at PlayGrand for a selection of slots from these providers. This is what we found:

On average PlayGrand performs well for slots RTP. This site appears to be running games at at the higher end of the RTP range. In particular the RTPs for Play n Go slots at Play Grand are higher than we have seen at many other sites, some of which run Book of Dead at lower than 90%.

The Live Casino at PlayGrand is provided by Evolution Gaming, Pragmatic Play and Authentic. These are three of the biggest names in live dealer.

As a small white label, PlayGrand does not offer exclusive branded tables like you find at sites like 888 or Casumo. Instead, you can join a large pool or tables shared across multiple casinos. The advantage of this is that you get access to a very big range of game formats and stakes.

The Blackjack lobby alone features more than 150 tables including bespoke formats like Lighting Blackjack and Infinite Blackjack with stakes ranging from 50p up to £100. Loyalty Promotions 6/10

The PlayGrand promotions page is sparsely populated.

Once registered we were only offered one other promotion: a £5,000 cash prize slots tournament where those with the highest win percentage topped the leaderboard.

Aside from that, the promotions page includes adverts for ‘Top Games’ and Responsible Gambling tools, which are clearly not promotions!

This is disappointing but is quite typical of a white label casino. White label operators with smaller sites are less willing to invest in the promotions teams needed to support the kind of big promotional calendars that you see on sites like Play OJO or Casumo. So, if you are looking for regular daily deals, hourly tournaments and sophisticated loyalty programs with level-ups and VIP programs, then this site won’t be for you.

Cashier Options 8/10

With a minimum deposit of £10 and ten different deposit and withdrawal options at PlayGrand, most slots players will feel comfortable with the cashier service on the site. Still, some popular options are not available, including Apple Pay, Google Pay and Trustly. Personally, I get by with just Mastercard and Paypal so my options are covered. I made two withdrawals from PlayGrand in the first week following my registration and making several deposits. The first was £20 to Paypal at 14.33 on a Wednesday. I received the funds the following morning at 8am. This is within the 24 hours advertised on the website but still slower than other sites we have reviewed. Spin and Win, for example, turned around a Paypal withdrawal in just over 2 hours.

Customer Support 7/10

Customer support at white label casinos can sometimes fall short of what we expect. Most of the complaints we read on TrustPilot regarding this brand concerned slow response times in relation to queries. And in particular those relating to withdrawals and bonuses. So testing this aspect of the PlayGrand experience was important.

There was no phone line available. I don’t have an issue with that if the live chat is of an acceptable level and available 24/7.

Like all White Hat sites, the support service requires you to use a 4 number PIN code. First time you use it you won’t have one because you have to ask the support agent to provide it.

So, you will need to enter all your details at the start of the chat including name and address, so that they can verify your account. This felt needlessly frustrating and time consuming.

Overall, response times were slow, but acceptable – 2 to 3 minutes to engage with a support agent, and then a few seconds to respond to each question. The staff seemed knowledgable and answers to questions were helpful and informative.

KYC Process 7/10

Whilst account verification is done behind the scenes when you first register at PlayGrand, allowing you to deposit and play without sending any documentation, if you want to make significant deposits, or withdrawals, you will be required to verify your ID.

This is done to comply with anti-money laundering and responsible gambling regulation. I prefer to do this through a link in my account page. Unfortunately, there wasn’t heres one and the only option was to send documents via email. This doesn’t feel secure for scans of bank statements and passports.

It then took a full 48 hours to verify the documents.
