About This Slot
First, a little history …
The 4,096 payline slot has come a long way since WMS first unleashed the Raging Rhino beast on us many years ago. Since then most developers have chosen to emulate the angry beast motif when creating their own versions, most notably with Playetch’s Buffalo Blitz. That was until Thunderkick went psychedelic on us and brought Pink Elephants to the table – a highly creative twist on the original. And when Kalamba put their heads together they chose to mix the beast with a bit of ancient native American mysticism with Blazing Bull, and now the sequel, set for release in summer 2021.
But whatever the beast is, and whichever direction a studio goes with it, one thing you can always be sure of is that a 4,096 win ways game will be a highly volatile experience. And so we come to Blazing Bull 2, a game that builds on the success of the original by pushing up the max wins to a massive 50,000x and adding a cell-splitting feature that borrows significant amounts from another top game studio right now, No Limit City.
Before we get into the numbers, it’s worth taking a moment to enjoy the graphical display that appears when we load up this game. Top quality, intricate and compelling, the backdrop to this slot is a beautiful green forest with ornate native wood-carved totems on either side, a shrine to the star of the show perhaps. The Bull itself is blazing for sure – fiery eyes staring out from a fiery game tile just so you know this one means business.
The overall effect of this scene is impressive and seems to set things up for some dynamic and potentially epic play.
RTP, Variance and Top Payout
So, moving onto the numbers, Blazing Bull is pushing the very top of the variance scale -a 10/10 by Kalamba’s own measure, and with a solid 96.26% RTP. And all this comes with a monstrous 50,000x top prizes. It will be hard to get even close to that figure, but a number like that, which puts Blazing Bull 2 in the top range of slots this year, is a good indication that this one will follow classic high volatility spin patterns with much of the best action saved for the free spins round where multipliers, wilds and K-splits can bring some adrenaline-pumping win sequences.
Symbols and Graphics
With 6 reels and 4 rows, this is the 4,096 ways slot format. To win you just need to land 3 or more identical symbols on adjacent reels from left to right, regardless of row position. The low value icons are the cards, 9 through to. Ace, whilst the high value ones are the animals – wolves, owls, deer, horses and the bull. The max win from the top paying icon is 5x for six in a row, which may seem small, but remember there are plenty of splits and multipliers in this slot to enhance the payouts.
The wilds can land anywhere in the base game but do not come with multipliers until the free spins round.

Gameplay and Features
Dual Free Spins Meters
Those who have played Blazing Bull the original will be familiar with the dual free spin collection meters that appear above the reel set. These fill up with every paid spin, adding extra free spins that are released when the correct number of bonus icons land on the reels. It is possible to earn up to 20 spins per meter this way:
By playing 15 paid spins in the base game, 1 extra free spin is added to the Wild Multiplier round.
By playing 30 paid spins in the base game, 1 extra free spin is added to the K-Split bonus roud.
Free Spins Rounds
You’ll need to land 3 blue or 3 orange scatters on the reels to trigger either free spins round. The number of spins showing on the meter are awarded and the round begins.
K-Split Spins – These are set off by the blue scatters. Before a free spins plays out, one icon from the paytable becomes a K-Split icon for that spin. If one lands on the reels, so it splits into 2 or 3 more, much like the Splitting Cells in No Limit City’s San Quentin xWays game.
Multiplier Wild Free Spins – These are set off by the orange scatters. Now you get multiplier wild free spins. Wilds come with 2x, 3x, 5x or 8x multipliers and sub in for all other icons except the scatters.
Either free spins round can be retriggered by landing more scatters. Here, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 scatters will trigger an additional 2, 5, 8, 10 or 15 extra free spins .
It would be impossible to critique Blazing Bull 2 without reference to the original that inspired it so we will draw comparisons here. The stand-out improvement by a long shot is of course the payout potential. Where the original came in at just over 2,500x, Kalamba have recognized the need to match the raging intent represented by the scary bull’s head on the reels with a top prize that can truly compete with other big players on the market. This is great news for high risk slots fans, though we should note that it remains to be seen whether Blazing Bull 2 will deliver anything close to that in the coming months.
For our own tastes Blazing Bull 2 also delivers an improved design with a more intricate backdrop and sizzling icons on the reels. This, and the somewhat mellow soundtrack give the game a more sophisticated feel. And that is in keeping with the features which are more innovative and compelling than the first Blazing Bull game. Splitting cells are starting to show up more frequently in slots in 2021 so we are all getting to know and enjoy them. And right here, in a good run of free spins where the K-split is a high value icon, they could bring some excellent wins.
Overall, top marks for Kalamba – and we can’t wait to see just how much Blazing Bull 2 can deliver in wins!
