Pine of Plinko Dream Drop
By Print Studios
With an adorable fairytale theme, step inside the workings of a cuckoo clock to play this highly volatile slot. Print Studios have gone overboard with the stunning graphics, also adding in a unique plinko game as a bonus round. With a simple 5 reel, 3 row layout, there are just 10 paylines, but with a non-progressive max win of up to 10,000x your bet, you’ve got ample opportunity to net some big wins. Oh, and that’s without even mentioning the huge Dream Drops progressive jackpot that’s up for grabs.

Theme and Design
As it stands, Pine of Plinko is the only Print Studios game on the Dream Drops network, so it makes sense that they put a whole lot of attention into the graphics. The crisp, 3D characters are fairytale-cute, with the whole thing set around a pinecone-based cuckoo clock. It’s reminiscent of Royal Potato and Royal Potato 2, also from this slot provider, with an adorable style and plenty of attention to every cute little detail. With animations, 3D rendering, and fun characters, the theme is definitely unique and carried off in Print Studio’s immediately recognizable style.

RTP and Variance
The RTP for the Dream Drop jackpot version of this game is 93.48%. That’s a little low. The saving grace is that 12% of every spin goes to the Dream Drops progressive jackpot pool. However, when you consider the non-Dream Drop version of this game has a 96.48% RTP, this one still seems a little stingy. Certainly, if you're not into chasing that big progressive then play the original instead.
The variance of the game is high - and that showed in our test session - so you’ll need a good bankroll behind you to make it through the breaks in wins.
Maximum Win
Any slot game that’s part of the Dream Drops network immediately gets a boost to their top payout. Who wouldn’t want a chance to shoot at a jackpot that regularly reaches well into the millions? As for the non-progressive max win, it sits at 10,000x your bet, which is right on average for other games in this series.
Symbols and Paytable
On the simple 5x3 grid, you make wins by matching between three and five symbols across just 10 paylines, from left to right starting at the left most reel.
There are 7 pay symbols. The low value symbols are the wood carvings, paying from 0.2x your bet for 3 of a kind, up to 3x your bet for 5 of a kind. The premium symbols are the characters, paying from 0.6 your bet for 3 of a kind, up to a whopping 200x your bet for 5 of a kind.
There is NO wild symbol in this game.

Features and Gameplay
What with the grid being quite basic, a few features are necessary to keep this game exciting. Thankfully Print Studios have included some unique mechanics that go above and beyond what you’d expect.
Plinko Bonus
The most unique feature in the game is the Plinko Bonus round, played on a different screen displaying a Plinko board. If you land three or more acorn scatter symbols this round will be triggered. Look closely, because every scatter that drops displays a number. The total of all those numbers is added up to give you the number of starting drops awarded at the start of the round.
Each time you press the game button on the right of the screen, one or more balls fall from the top of the Plinko board into a space at the bottom. Each of these spaces is linked to a prize amount from 0.1x to 1,000x the bet.
At the end, all of the balls in all of the gaps are added up to give you your total winnings.

If a ball hits one of the three bumpers on the way down then a meter is increased, and when you fill the meter, you get an additional 10 drops. Every time another round starts, the starting level of drops doubles so round 2 is 2 drops, round 3 is 4, round 4 is 8 and so on.

Feature Bet
The feature bet allows you to activate a scatter boost. This increases your stake by 75% but also increases the number of scatters on the reels.
Dream Drop Jackpot
At any point in the game (on a normal spin) Dream Drop symbols can land. If you land 3x DD symbols at once then the jackpot round begins. Press the Drop button and a ball will fall into one of the five spaces at the bottom of the grid, each corresponding to the five different jackpot levels.
The seed values for these jackpots are shown below:
- Rapid (seeded at €1)
- Midi (seeded at €5)
- Maxi (seeded at €100)
- Major (seeded at €25,000)
- Mega (seeded at €500,000 with a minimum payout of €1,000,000)
Final Verdict
The 5x3 layout and 10 paylines certainly makes this game simple enough to appeal to fans of the most classic slot games. However, the additional plinko bonus feature also gives the gameplay something totally unique. The graphics are stunning too, as you’d expect from Print Studios.
And in terms of prizes, it’s brilliant to be able to shoot for the progressive jackpot with that low £0.20 minimum stake, though it is worth remembering that your chances increase the higher your bet. The 10,000x non-progressive max win is bang on average for slots on this network, but still offers ample opportunity for big wins, especially with such high volatility.
Testing Notes

Results from 250 spins with real money on Pine of Plinko Dream Drop at Casumo.
- Stake Size: £0.2
- Start balance: £1,092.94
- End balance: £1,069.08
- Win Rate: 20.8% (52 winning spins in 250)
- Biggest Win: 100.1x
- Plinko Round: 1
- Dream Drop Bonus: 1
This is one of the nicest Dream Drop productions we’ve seen, but it did feel like a bit of a grind trying to unlock those bonuses, and there is nothing else in the base game to keep you entertained whilst you wait. It took 92 spins to trigger the Plinko Bonus only for it to drop a 3.2x win (64p!). It’s a fun way to play a bonus round, but it can be frustrating when most of the balls land in the 1p slots which happened this time round. It’s a long wait just to win a small prize.

That might have been it, until the Dream Drop bonus finally showed up on the 247th spin. It also uses the Plinko game format which is fun. On this occasion the win was just the Rapid JP, £20.02, or a 100.1x win.

Overall the win rate wasn’t bad at 20.8% and the quality of the game production offsets the slow pace at times, so it’s definitely worth a spin.
