Theme and Design
The Win-O-Mart design is probably a bit like Marmite, some people will love it, others will hate it. After all, a trip to the supermarket isn’t something that fills all of us with delight. Yet, here we are! Win-O-Mart makes things a little bit different with its selection of unusual goods, including flip flops made of spinach, and spicy toilet paper.
It’s bizarre and only gets weirder when you enter the futuristic bonus round set inside a space age warehouse. If you like the idea of Supermarket Sweep meets some kind of dystopian nightmare, you’ll feel right at home here.
RTP and Variance
Win-O-Mart has a 96.44% RTP which is a rate that simply can’t be sniffed at. Pairing this with medium to high volatility means you should get a good mixture of big and small wins, making it the perfect slot for those on a buoyant bankroll who want to play to win.
Maximum Win
Win-O-Mart has a great max win of 10,000x your stake, sure there are games with a bigger max win, but are there any games with a bigger max win with a supermarket theme? Case closed.
Symbols and Paytable
The game features a 5 reel, 4 row setup with 26 paylines. Wins are achieved by landing 3 to 5 identical symbols on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost side.
There are 9 pay symbols, plus a wild and a scatter. The lower-value symbols are J, Q, K, A, which pay 1x the bet for a five-of-a-kind combination. Premium symbols are crayon cigarette packets, spinach flip flops, spicy toilet paper rolls, pheromone bug spray, and helpful shop assistants, paying from 6x to 50x the bet for 5.
The Wild symbol appears on all reels, substituting for any pay symbol and paying out 50x the bet for a line of five. Regular symbols can also appear stacked on the reels.
Features and Gameplay
The base game of Win-O-Mart is exceptionally straightforward, but if you trigger the Bonus Bundle round, you’re in for a treat. Let’s take a look how it all works.
Bonus Bundle Round
The Bonus Bundle Round is triggered when you land 3 or more scatter symbols. If you land 4 scatters then you’re guaranteed that the elevator will progress to a higher level. If you land 5 scatters you’re guaranteed the same and you get an additional free spin for each level.
The Bonus Bundle starts on one of 5 available levels, each level granting 5 free spins with each scatter symbol landing awarding 2 to 5 additional free spins. If you notice a Win-O-Mart token on top of any symbols then collect it! 5 of these tokens grants access to the elevator which can take you to a higher level. Once the spins run out, the round is over. Below is what happens at each elevator level.
- Level 1 Wild Expansion - any wild symbol landing on this level expands to fill the reel.
- Level 2 Symbol Multipliers - after each win, a 10x multiplier is added to the winning symbol(s) for the remainder of the level. With each win, the multiplier increases by 10.
- Level 3 Products Only - all low pay symbols are removed from the reels for this level.
- Level 4 Prize Wheel - each landed Wheel symbol upgrades 2-4 prizes on the prize wheel. When the level ends, one of the prizes on the wheel is awarded, up to 5,000x in value.
- Level 5 Bundle Deal - all features from levels 1 to 4 are active at this level.
Feature Bet Department
Win-O-Mart has a comprehensive feature bet department with the following options:
- Scatter Boost: costs 1.2x your stake per spin but increases the frequency of triggering the Bonus Bundle by 41.12%.
- Enhanced Scatter Boost: costs 2x your stake per spin but increases the frequency of triggering the Bonus Bundle by 193.1%.
- Bonus Bundle 1: costs 92x the bet but guarantees to trigger the bonus with 3 scatter symbols.
- Bonus Bundle 2: costs 219x the bet but guarantees to trigger the bonus with 4 scatter symbols.
- Bonus Bundle 3: costs 442x the bet but guarantees to trigger the bonus with 5 scatter symbols.
- Mystery Bundle: costs 158x the bet but triggers the bonus with either 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols.
Final Verdict
You can’t knock Print Studios any points for originality here, Win-O-Mart is quite unlike any other slot out there. The dystopian supermarket theme is seriously unusual, but for those with a kooky sense of humour, it’s a theme that could be popular.
The base game is exceptionally straightforward, offering only Wilds to spice things up. However, the Bonus Bundle round is packed with features, each changing with every level you go up on the elevator. It’s a cool concept and one that does seem to produce some pretty decent wins. Speaking of which, the max win of 10,000x your stake is plenty big enough and alongside an RTP of 96.44% this feels like a pretty generous slot.
Testing Notes
Test spins and results analysis by Mark Wadie.
Results from 200 spins for free on Win-O-Mart on Print Studio’s test servers.
- Stake Size: 1
- Start balance: 5,000
- End balance: 5,154.90
- Hit Rate: 25% (50 winning spins in 200)
- Biggest Win: 264x
- Bonus Round: 1
This was a fun slot to try out. The theme is unique and the production high quality. The reel animations are slick and when you head into the bonus round the elevator levels are all cleverly built, each with its own weird styling. As far as the maths goes, the win rate was reasonable at 25%, so 1 in 4 spins producing a win. Most wins were small. I did land a 20x in the base game, but I was burning down the balance fast until the free spins round finally dropped after 172 spins. Then things got much more interesting.
Level 1 starts with expanding wilds and I landed a 167x win from one of those on reel 1. Collecting 5 tokens gets you up another level, and on level 2, 10x multipliers came into play on all winning symbols for a few more good payouts. Then, after collecting another 5 tokens I hit level 3, with all low value symbols removed. My luck ran out there but the payout had already reached 264x. So not a bad haul.
Take aways? The base game is quite hard work, but the theme is original enough to carry you through whilst waiting for the bonus round to drop. And if you can get that far, the free spins round has been really well built. So worth a spin if you want to try something a bit different.
