What Our Reviewer Says …
A classy high volatility slot but a real tease and a game that will try your patience!
What We Like
- Super visuals and dramatic soundtrack
- Simple Megaways format with high volatility gameplay
- Chance to win huge jackpots
- Good win rate - 27% in testing
What We Didn't Like
- Low RTP due to progressive jackpot contributions
Theme and Design
In terms of graphics, this feels like a blockbusting video game. There’s endless detail in this slot, from the majestic mountains in the background to the individual blades of grass in the foreground. No detail has been left out. The theme is a strangely familiar one, remember Wolf Gold? Of course you do! It’s one of Pragmatic Play’s biggest successes, but Wolf Blaze Wowpot Megaways is a collaboration between Fortune Factory Studios and Games Global. Yet, this slot feels a whole lot like Wolf Gold.

Leaving the strange similarities aside, Wolf Blaze does have a personality of its own. The feeling is North American wilderness, but more like Yellowstone than the Grand Canyon. You’ll see familiar North American animals on the reels and with graphics this good, you can’t be mad at the wolfy similarities.
RTP and Variance
With an RTP of 86.93%, Wolf Blaze Wowpot Megaways has positioned itself quite a way below what you’d hope for! It’s worth mentioning that there is a jackpot contribution of 5.30%, so while you’re getting a lower RTP, part of the reason is that a percentage of your stake goes directly to the progressive jackpot pool.
The volatility on this game is also high, and that certainly was the case when we tested it. The wait for anything of any significance to happen can be a long one!
Maximum Win
Wolf Blaze Wowpot has a progressive max win that starts at €2,000,000, for the largest of the jackpots, which is absolutely a prize worth shooting for! You do stand a better chance of landing it if you place higher bets, so keep that in mind.
However, there’s also a top non-progressive max win of 18,163x your stake, which is a huge leap from the previous top prize of 5000X the bet. If big prizes are what you’re after and you don’t mind taking a considerable hit to RTP, this slot is a good choice.
Symbols and Paytable
The game features a dynamic 6-reel grid where the number of symbols per reel changes between 2 and 7 on each spin. An additional top tracker reel runs horizontally above reels 2, 3, 4, and 5. Wins are achieved by landing 3 or more matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel.

There are 10 pay symbols in the game, plus a Wild and a Scatter. The low-paying symbols are 9, 10, J, Q, K, and A, which award between 0.8x and 1.8x the bet for 6 of a kind. The premium symbols include a bear, cougar, and eagle, which pay between 2x and 7.5x the bet for 6 matching symbols. The highest-paying symbol is the wolf, which awards 50x the bet for a 6-of-a-kind win.
The Wild Symbol substitutes for all symbols except the Scatter Symbol.
Features and Gameplay
Wolf Blaze Wowpot Megaways offers the chance to shoot for the Wowpot jackpot, but a surprising number of other mechanics besides. Let’s take a look at how they all work!
Rolling Reels
Sometimes called cascades, the rolling reels come into play every time you make a win. Once your win has been paid, any symbols that are involved will disappear and new ones will come from above. If these make a new win, this is awarded and the process continues until no new wins are made.

Wild Symbol
The wild symbol is a howling wolf on a gold coin. It can only appear above reels 2, 3, 4, and 5 and substitutes all normal pay symbols.
Free Spins
If you land 4 or more scatter symbols anywhere on the reels then the free spins round begins with 12 free spins (plus an additional 5 for every additional scatter you landed). This feature has a permanent win multiplier that begins at 1x and increases by +1 for every win you land.
During the feature, scatters can only land on the top tracker reel and award 5 or 10 extra spins if you land 3 or 4 respectively. Once you run out of spins, the feature ends.
Wowpot Progressive Pick Game
You can trigger the Wowpot Progressive Pick Game on any spin where a wild coin lands. The more wilds you land, the greater your chance of the feature triggering. You can also increase your chances of triggering this round by betting bigger. Each wild that lands is collected in a fire pit to the left of the reels shown in this screenshot.

When the game starts you’ll see 12 coins, with each of them hiding one of the jackpots (below). You pick one coin at a time until you’ve managed to pick the same jackpot three times. You’ll then instantly win that jackpot’s value, with the seed values shown below.
- Mini starts at €10
- Minor starts at €100
- Major starts at €50,000
- Wowpot! starts at €2,000,000
Final Verdict
Wolf Blaze Wowpot Megaways firmly positions itself as a slot for jackpot chasers! The non progressive max win of 18,163x your bet is a huge step up from its previous 5,000x and this is combined with a chance to shoot for the Wowpot! With a seed value of €2,000,000. As is usually the case, the RTP has taken a hit and stands at just 86.93%, which even by progressive slot standards is pretty low. Combine this with high volatility and you’ve got a slot that’s unlikely to be terribly kind to your bankroll. Fortunately, great production and a combination of Megaways, cascades and multipliers just about carry you through those leaner spells whilst waiting for the big moments to drop. In short, another good addition to the WowPot series.
Testing Notes
Test spins and results analysis by Mark Wadie.
Results from 300 spins on Wolf Blaze™ WowPot Megaways™ at Casumo.
- Stake Size: 50p
- Start balance: £987.72
- End balance: £934.12
- Hit Rate: 27.6% (83 winning spins in 300)
- Biggest Win: 20.6x
- Bonus Round: 0
This is a real tease of a game and certainly showed its high variance credentials during this session. I kept going for 300 spins to try to unlock either one of the free spins or jackpot feature but neither showed up. Gold coin wilds are collected in a kind of fire pit to the left of the reels, and the more you collect, the greater the chances of triggering the jackpot feature (in theory). As your session progresses, the pile of coins mounts up and shakes, looking like its ready to blow. But beware, because that can keep you playing, waiting for it to happen! In the meantime you can burn through your balance fast.

The hit rate wasn’t bad – 27.6%, but the wins were generally small in size, maxing out at 20.6x shown in this screenshot. And there are no features in the base game besides cascades and the Megaways. The visuals and sound are great though and all in its not a bad slot, although tight as hell on this occasion.
Take aways? Definitely one for the high volatility fans who have patience and bankroll to chase down the elusive jackpot and free spins rounds.
