With just one feature to unlock, Hyperburst rattles along at a fast pace. For the record, I recorded 38 winning spins over 200 spins – close to 1 in 5. Each one led to a re-spin and I hit the Hyper Mode (3 consecutive wins) just 3 times. The best resulted in a 36.4x win when I won on the first Hyper Mode spin, but not the second. The production quality and the regularity of wins was enough to keep me engaged and extending the session for a further 50 spins to see if I could get further into the Hyper Mode feature, but my luck ran out. Overall, this was a fun slot but definitely suited to those who like high risk action without complex features.

High Quality Production For a Highly Volatile Game

Hyperburst is a sharp looking slot with a slow-burning soundtrack that rises in volume and intensity to reflect changes in the gameplay. The backdrop is an epic volcanic landscape with mountains and forest surrounding an active volcano that sits directly behind our 6×4 reel set. The symbols on the reels include what look like Polynesian masks, intricately drawn. When you spin, the reels rumble along then stop with a satisfying thud. In a nice animation, as the reels merge and re-spins ensue, lava spews down onto the reel set from the volcano crater to add to the drama. It looks superb, just as we have come to expect from Yggdrasil.
