Miss Wildfire
By ELK Studios
Miss Wildfire is a magic-themed online slot from ELK Studios with 6 reels and 466 paylines. The gameplay is all about burning Wild symbols which spread more wilds across the reels by setting fire to special log symbols. Miss Wildfire is another special wild symbol that triggers re-spins as she walks from right to left across the reels. The free spins round comes with a superb progressive level-up feature where collecting logs unlocks new levels with more Miss Wildfire symbols and extra logs each time.
This is a medium variance slot with a 5,000x maximum win. Play starts at 20p.

Theme and Design
Fun Cartoon-Styling And Crazy Magic Theme In Miss Wildfire
Miss Wildfire has a typically off-beat design style for an ELK Studios slot. The setting is something like a scientist’s laboratory, though this one seems to be interested in wood rather than chemicals and test tubes! We don’t see the mad scientist himself but instead, personality is brought to this cartoon game by the star, Miss Wildfire and the peperoni-style log with huge grin and raised eyebrows, who has a key role to play throughout. It’s an odd-looking game with a weird mix of aesthetics – there are also some random premium symbols including a Philosopher’s Stone - but like all ELK games, it just seems to work.
A mention should also go out to the sounds team who have done a great job of bringing the reels to life with mad cries from the log as it sets on fire, and bonkers supernatural-style tune that builds and builds as you accumulate wins in the free spins round.
RTP and Variance
Miss Wildfire has an RTP of 96.1% which is about average for a UK slot and above average for an ELK Studios game, some of which sit in the 94% to 95% range. So, no complaints there. This is a medium variance slot so less volatile than most ELK games and a good entry point for casual slots players who want to experience what this creative studio has to offer.
Maximum Win
The top payout in Miss Wildfire is just 5,000x. That is much lower than big-paying slots from ELK like Avalon Gold (25,000x) or Dropz (25,000x) but it’s about what you would expect from a medium variance slot.
Symbols and Paytable
Miss Wildfire plays out on a 6 reel and 4 row reel set with 466 paylines which pay from left to right, starting at the left-most reel.
The paytable is a little bit different. At the very bottom we have a log symbol which pays at 0.1x, 0.2x, 0.3x or 0.5x for 3, 4, 5 or 6 on a line. These logs act as special symbols as well, transforming into wilds if they catch fire – more on that below – and triggering a level-up when enough are collected.
The rest of the paytable has both low payers and premiums. The low payers are the playing card symbols from 10 through to Ace that deliver between 0.2x for 3 10s and 1.2x the bet when 6 Aces. There are just 3 Premium symbols and they are depicted as a Wave within a pyramid, a Flower encased in a cube and the Philosopher’s Stone which deliver between 0.8x for 3 of the pyramids and 10x for 6 Philosopher’s Stones.
There is also a standard Wild, depicted with a burning W, which substitutes for all symbols bar the Scatter to help complete paylines with standard pay symbols. And a Bonus Scatter, 3 or which are required to unlock the free spins round. Neither of these have a pay value.
Features and Gameplay
Miss Wildfire is, as you might expect, heavy on Wild symbols and variations of them including Spreading Wilds. In testing I found that these features drop regularly and there is rarely a dead spin.
The Wildfire Feature – Spreading Wilds
First of all, look out for the log symbols, these are the lowest value but they have an extra power. If a Wild lands next to one then it will set it on fire, turning it into another wild. This can spread to surrounding reels, causing other logs to turn into Wilds too. I like this clever version of the popular spreading wilds feature from other slots.
Miss Wildfire Walks With Re-Spins
This is a big one to look out for in the base game. It showed up 6 times over 200 spins for me. You start with a Miss Wildfire symbol anywhere on the reels. She acts like a standard wild but also triggers a re-spin. When the re-spin occurs, she moves one reel to the left each time until she falls off the left side of the reels.
You want the Miss Wildfire to land as far to the right as possible at the start to give you as many re-spins as possible. I landed a 35.4x win in this way.
Another nice part about this feature is that Bonus Scatters will remain locked in place for the duration of the re-spins, giving you an added chance of triggering the free spins round.
Super Miss Wildfire With Sticky Logs
This elusive feature never triggered over 200 spins in tests, but it looks powerful. The Super Miss Wildfire symbol has a sort of neon pink haircut. When she appears, you get re-spins but this time, unlit logs stick on the reels too, giving you more chance of turning them wild.
Free Spins Round With Level-Ups And Symbol Upgrades
The free spins round in Miss Wildfire comes in a progressive format which can go off in a big way if things fall right for you.
First, you need at least 3 Bonus Scatters to trigger it. Now, between 1 and 4 Miss Wildfires will appear on reel 6 for the first free spin. They are going to move one reel to the left with each spin, so you have 7 free spins at least.
The fun part is, any log that lands is collected in a meter to the right of the reels. And when you have collected your first 20, then you move a level up and another Miss Wildfire is added to reel 6, giving you 7 more spins. And with each level up, a low value symbol from the paytable is upgraded to a log. This gives you more chances of creating wilds through the Wildfire feature AND more chances of collecting enough logs to level-up again.
The tricky part is, the number of logs required to level-up each time increases. So, you need 20 logs to go to level 2, 40 to level 3, 60 to level 4, 80 to level 5 and 100 to level 6. At level 6 ALL low payers are now transformed into logs.
Final Verdict
Miss Wildfire is a super-fun game with a well-balanced pay model, a clever mix of style and gameplay and rarely a quiet moment. Even when there isn’t a feature in play there are enough low-value wins to keep your cashflow ticking over whilst you wait for something bigger. When they do arrive, both Miss Wildfire and the Free Spins round are exciting to watch. In particular the Free Spins round, with its progressive format, is loaded with tension as the higher you get, the better your chances of filling the reels with wilds. In short, weird but wonderful stuff – just what we expect from ELK Studios!
Testing Notes
I played 200 spins on Miss Wildfire for real money at Duelz Casino to test the game and this is what happened.
- Stake Size: £0.2
- Start balance: £60.47
- End balance: £75.31
- Biggest Win: 93.4x
- Free Spins: 2
- Session Time: 27 minutes 56 seconds
Miss Wildfire was certainly good value for money with 200 spins lasting close to 28 minutes, triggering 2 free spins rounds. The best win from free spins was a 93.4x when I reached level 3 and both 10s and Jacks were transformed into logs. I was not able to reach a higher level. At that point you need 60 logs to transform the Queen and that was just out of reach. There were also 6 Wildfire Walking Wilds with Re-Spins which isn’t bad at all the best of which produced a 35.4x win. The only feature that didn’t trigger was the Super Miss Wildfire, the variation on the basis Miss Wildfire symbol that NEVER once landed!
Overall, Miss Wildfire behaved as you would expect a medium variance slot to with plenty of regular payouts and small wins and if you like that style of slot then I would recommend this game to you.
