Prepare Yourself For Knife-Wielding Leprechauns Drunk On Beer !!!

Leprechauns have gone rogue and hit goblin mode in this darkly humorous slot. Imagine what would happen if these usually jaunty little men hit the whiskeys too hard, joined a gang and started demanding protection money … in the 18th century. That’s what this game looks like, with a dark city street or tavern backroom providing the backdrop depending on which phase of the game you are in. Those leprechauns are in wild-eyed states wherever they appear. It’s pretty twisted, perhaps not Push’s best creation, but still fun and certainly suggests they might have started drinking from the same cup as rivals NLC.

Shamrock Saints is coming with no less than FIVE RTP settings – 96.30%, 95.44%, 94.46%, 90.40% and 88.26%. I very much like the optimum 96.3% which is nicely above average and promises good value for money. However, you should definitely avoid any casino that runs this game at the lower setting of 90.4% or 88.26%. You can check the RTP of the game by hitting the hamburger menu on the top right of the screen, then choosing the ? and browsing through until you see the Return to Player number.

What Is Maximum Win?

Maximum win refers to the maximum amount a player can win from one spin. It is expressed as a multiple of the stake. For example, where the maximum win is 100,000x, from a £1 stake, the maximum win would be £100,000.

The game plays out on a 5 reel and 4 row grid with 20 paylines in play. Wins are triggered by landing 3 or more identical symbols across the reels from left to right, starting at the left most reel.

There are 8 symbols in all in the paytable. The 4 low payers are the Molotov Cocktail (bottle with a rag hanging out of the top), green hat, brick bat and horsehoe and knuckle duster and knife. These come in at a maximum 1.5x payout for 5 on a line.

Premium symbols are represented by the 4 malignant leprechauns, all sinister vibes in green, purple, blue and red. These are valued at up to a maximum 40x for 5 on a payline.

There is also a wild, represented by a beer barrel. This will substitute for any pay symbol to complete a payline, and also pay out a tasty 50x for 5 on a line.

4 Stack Mystery Symbols

Mystery Symbols in Shamrock Saints can reveal pay symbols, wilds or golden leprechauns. They come in stacks of 4 on any reel. When a stack lands, it reveals its symbols, then remains for the next spin, at which point it nudges down one row, revealing symbols again. This goes on until all Mystery Symbols are nudged off the reels.

Golden Leprechauns Reveal One of 6 Prizes

Golden Leprechauns may be revealed as part of a Mystery Symbol stack. But what are they? In fact, they spin in position before revealing a prize of their own. There are 6 possible prizes:

  • Instant Prize – a simple 1x to 2,500x multiple of your stake – instant payout
  • Multiplier – this will be applied to all Instant Prizes and Collectors currently visible on the reels. The multiplier can be 2x, 3x, 5x or 10x. Once used, the multiplier is removed and a new prize is chosen in its position.
  • Collectors – brings together the value of all Collectors and Instant Prizes currently visible on the reels. Instant Prizes collected up are removed and a new prize is chosen in their position.
  • Nudge Up – Mystery Symbols nudge up. This one only happens during free spins.

The Final Verdict

Shamrock Saints is a fun, feature-packed game that feels a bit like a greatest hits. And there is nothing wrong with that. Housed in a different theme, the Mystery Symbols that invoke the best moments of Razor Shark, and the Golden Leprechauns that remind us of Big Bamboo, are as powerful and entertaining as they were in their original form. Push excel at creating features that can snow ball into epic wins too and that is what they have done here, particularly with Shamrock Mode which is sure to inspire a few good big win hits on You Tube. And for stats fans, if anything the maths is a little more forgiving here than in other Push slots which might just open up the game to a wider audience. Altogether then, clever, wildly creative and just great fun!
