There was certainly no shortage of action over my 200 spins. Wins came up on every 4 to 5 spins and I counted 8 Treasure Chests on reel 4 (4% of spins), though not a single Golden Treasure Chest. Every Treasure Chest produced an instant win rather than a free spins round. That isn’t surprising as the Free Spins are not supposed to be easy to unlock.

I triggered the free spins round once (fairly typical for a mid-high variance slot) through 3 scatters to get 7 spins. The modifier I was given was extra Treasure Chests. By the end of the round I had SIX sticky wilds in place thanks to Viking vs Siren battles.

A Little Dated But Still An Epic Slot By And Standards

Vikings Go Berzerk starts with a super-cool 3-d video of a Viking battle with the Sirens amidst a shipwreck on the rocks. It’s a dramatic opening suitable for an epic game. Once the game starts for real then the action plays out on a grandiose longship riding the waves, your 5 reels and 4 rows of symbols set against the backdrop of the ship’s sale. It looks a bit dated now, but thanks to the orchestral score and the compelling gameplay, that doesn’t matter too much. And in fact, the visuals get better when the bonus round kicks in and the sky darkens for battles between Viking and Siren.

The first thing to note is that each of the four Vikings has a Rage Meter displayed at the bottom of the reels. Each time you score a win with a Viking symbol on it, their respective meter will charge further. As a head start, one Viking will have their meter half-charged at the start of the game.
