A Little Dated But Still An Epic Slot By And Standards

Vikings Go Berzerk starts with a super-cool 3-d video of a Viking battle with the Sirens amidst a shipwreck on the rocks. It’s a dramatic opening suitable for an epic game. Once the game starts for real then the action plays out on a grandiose longship riding the waves, your 5 reels and 4 rows of symbols set against the backdrop of the ship’s sale. It looks a bit dated now, but thanks to the orchestral score and the compelling gameplay, that doesn’t matter too much. Symbols and Paytable

This is a standard 5-reel slot with 4 rows and 25 paylines. You’ll need to land 3 or more identical symbols from left to right along a payline, starting on the left most reel, to trigger a win.

There are 8 symbols on the paytable. The 4 low payers are the coins, iron, bronze, silver and gold. These are valued at from 0.2x for 3 iron coins up to 2.8x for 5 gold coins. The premiums are the 4 Vikings, valued at from 0.8x for 3 women Vikings up to 10x for 5 of the top premium Vikings.

Vikings Go Berzerk has an interesting collection of features with Rage Meters, Treasure Chests and Free Spins rounds with all kinds of modifiers.

Here is how it all works:

Viking Rage Meters Unlocks Free Spins Round

The first thing to note is that each of the four Vikings has a Rage Meter displayed at the bottom of the reels. Each time you score a win with a Viking symbol on it, their respective meter will charge further. As a head start, one Viking will have their meter half-charged at the start of the game.

Fully charging a Viking meter will trigger the free spins round with 7 spins where the respective Viking is ‘Berzerk’ for the full round.

What is a Berzerk Viking? During Free Spins, when a Viking lands on the reels it goes into battle with a Siren. If it wins, the position it sits in converts to a sticky wild. The outcome of the battle is random BUT a Berzerk Viking will ALWAYS win.

So, playing Free Spins with a Berzerk Viking is good because it allows you to fill more of the reels with Sticky Wilds which help trigger more wins.

Treasure Chests With Instant Prizes or Free Spins

There are two types of Treasure Chest that appear in both the base game and free spins round to reveal prizes, modifiers, or a fast-track to the free spins round.

Regular Treasure Chests

These appear on reel 4. When they do, five cards are shown on the screen and you must pick one to reveal a prize.
