Theme and Design
Pragmatic Play Keep Things Classic In Design Style
As in the gameplay, there is nothing particularly original about the theme and design of Blazing Wilds Megaways. The standard Megaways reel set sits against a glitzy backdrop of neon strip lights whilst a harlequin / joker figure stands to the right, adding a bit of personality to the setting. A kind of funky electro soundtrack accompanies proceedings. It feels like we’ve seen this kind of game many times before but if you like your jokers and your retro stylings then you’ll be happy with Blazing Wilds.

RTP and Variance
Blazing Wilds Megaways has three available RTP settings – 96.06%, 94.96% or 92.03%. You want to be playing at the optimum level of 96.06% so check the game info screen before you start spinning for real as many UK slot sites now pick lower rates. I recommend playing at MrQ from Lindar Media who always run games at the top RTP.
As you might expect from a Megaways game from Pragmatic Play, this is a volatile game, with a 5/5 rating from the studio itself. It may blow cold more than hot but it does have the potential to pop in the bonus round where multiplier wilds appear in abundance.
Maximum Win
Payouts are capped at 10,000x. That is modest by today’s standards but still acceptable. If you want better potential check out our list of Pragmatic Play’s highest max win games.
Symbols and Paytable
Blazing Wilds Megaways follows the classic expanding reels format. That means this is a win ways game where wins are triggered by landing 3 or more identical symbols on adjacent reels from left to right starting at the left most reel, regardless of their row position.
You have 6 reels, each displaying between 2 and 7 rows and changing at random on each spin. When all 6 reels are showing 7 rows of symbols, that gives you 117,649 win ways (7x7x7x7x7x7).

The pay table doesn’t have big value but remember, you have more win ways than you find in most games, and there are plenty of multipliers to boost your payouts.
The low value symbols are the cards, 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace. Their values are from 0.1x for 3 10s up to 1x for 6 Aces. The premiums are the ring, cash, gold bars, lucky 7s and diamond. These are valued at from 0.25x for 3 rings up to 5x for 6 diamonds.
There is also a Wild that subs in for all pay symbols and appears on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. But it does NOT pay out on its own.
Features and Gameplay
Blazing Wilds is not a complicated Megaways slot. It’s light on features compared to many others. This is what you get:
Tumble Wins – after any winning spin, winning symbols are removed from the reels, remaining symbols fall into the gaps left behind and new ones drop in to fill the remaining positions on the reels. If more wins are created this way then the process repeats. And again, until no more wins are triggered.
Expanding Wilds – the main feature is this and it has potential to trigger some big wins.

Whenever a wild lands (only on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5), it will expand upwards to the top of it’s reel. Each expanded wild takes on a multiplier value equivalent to the number of wilds on its reel. The multiplier is displayed above the reel. Any win way that passes through your expanded wild has that multiplier applied to it. If more than one expanded wild forms part of a win, then the multipliers are multiplied together.
After an expanded wild is used in a win, the multiplier value is removed.
Free Spins – there is a free spins round too, triggered by landing 4, 5 or 6 scatters anywhere. That gets you 15, 20 or 25 free spins. To increase the potential, now the multipliers from your expanded wilds are DOUBLE the number of wilds on their reel.
Final Verdict
Blazing Wilds Megaways simplistic gameplay won’t be for everyone but if you like straight forward gameplay with just one or two features and a lot of potential then this could be a great option for you. In testing the balance of the game did feel very uneven by which I mean it feels like it is holding a lot back for the big moments, but that’s normal for high variance slots – and the pay-off is the chance to land a run of consecutive wins some nice reel multipliers of up to 14x in the free spins round. You’ll need to be patient but Blazing Wilds can certainly deliver those big thrill moments on its day.
Testing Notes
I played 250 spins on Blazing Wilds Megaways on Pragmatic Play’s test server prior to release to test the game. This is what happened.
- Stake Size: $1
- Start balance: $100,000
- End balance: $99,968.40
- Hit Rate: 19% (48 winning spins in 250)
- Biggest Win: 38x
- Expanding Wilds: 11 (4% of spins)
- Free Spins: 0
This game was more fun than I expected. OK, it’s volatile – a 19% hit rate is low – and I didn’t get a sniff of the free spins round in 250 spins. But the base game actually chugs along nicely and the tumbles keep things interesting as each winning spin can bring up more consecutive wins with each tumble. The expanding wilds were relatively rare – just 11 in total which is 4% of spins – and I never saw more than one on the reels at one time - but it's exciting when they do arrive and one triggered a nice 30.25x win and another a 38x win which you can see in these screenshots.

In summary, whilst this slot doesn’t feel particularly original, after 250 spins I saw enough to make me think I would come back to this game another day and give it another shot.
