Dinopolis is a whacky 5-reel slot game from Push Gaming set in an alternative reality Vegas strip where dinosaurs go to gamble, drink and party! In the game, matching Dino Coins of up to 1,000x on reels 1 and 5 with 2 wilds on the middle reels triggers the coin payout. I played 200 spins on Dinopolis for real money at Duelz Casino to test the game and this is what happened.

After more than 100 spins with little or no return, Dinopolis suddenly shifted gears and two free spins round triggered within 20 spins. The first was disappointing with just a 7.6x win. But the second was far better, culminating in a 174.8x payout. To get there, I levelled-up just once and played 13 free spins in total – 8 from the first pick and 5 from the second. The key to success though was having Sticky Wild Multiplier Stacks from the feature pick on reels 2 and 3 which made it easier to complete win ways because the win ways start from the left. Once I had those locked in place wins were landing on almost every one of the free spins. Frustratingly, I didn’t level up a second or third time because with 3 Sticky Wild Multiplier Stacks on the reels the payouts would surely have been huge.

And one more thing: whilst most of my testing showed that you need to get into the bonus round to score any significant wins I did get one lucky spin in the base game where I landed a 120x win from a 100x coin triggered by 2 wilds on reels 2 and 3. Though to be honest, wins like this in the base game are surely a rarity.

A Super-Fun Slot With Party-Crazy Dinosaurs And A Rockabilly Soundtrack

Dinopolis looks like it has taken inspiration from the hallucinatory scenes from the movie Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas with Dinosaurs roaming the casino floors of Vegas. The game features an assortment of partying dinosaurs, living it up on the razzle in the city of Sin.

There are plenty of Vegas style buildings in the background, bright lights and casino iconography on the reels and in the paytable, whilst in the background a rockabilly soundtrack with piano and guitar fizzes along nicely. As you would expect from Push Gaming, the production is high quality with top class illustrations and slick animations throughout.

There are 3 available RTP settings for Dinopolis – 96.4%, 95.16% or 90.38%. The optimum level of 96.4% is above average but some sites will run the game at the lower settings so watch out. In testing I found that Both Barz Casino and Casumo Casino run the game at 96.4%.

This is also, as you would expect from Push Gaming, a notorious producer of volatile slots, a high variance game, so it can be unpredictable. During tests it was quite capable of running for 10 or 15 spins with no wins before a short run of payouts occured. There was not a sniff of the free spins round for at least 100 spins and then it dropped twice in quick succession.

What Is Maximum Win?

Dinopolis has an interesting reel and row set up. There are 5 reels, with a 3-4-4-4-3 row configuration. but the best part is that this is a Win Ways slot – that means you can win by landing identical symbols on adjacent reels from left to right, regardless of the row they appear on. That gives you 576 win ways per spin (3x4x4x4x3).

There are three tiers of symbols – low, high and super high. At first glance the paytable looks unimpressive – with a maximum win of just 10x for 5 of the highest value symbol. However, there are plenty of ways to boost those wins which are explained in the gameplay section of this review.

Starting with the low value icons then, these are the dice, chips, cards and money, which are valued at between 0.1x for 3 dice and 0.5x for 5 money symbols. The high value symbols are the four dinosaurs, valued at between 0.2x for 3 of the card playing dinosaur and 4x for 5 of the tuxedoed dinosaur. And the two super-premium dinosaurs are valued at from 1.5x for 3 of a kind up to 10x for 5 of a kind.

The Wilds perform a standard function of completing paylines by substituting in for other symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4. They become more powerful IF they land with 2x or 3x multipliers attached. These can also apply to your Dino Coin wins.

From experience I can say that to get the most out of Dinopolis you DEFINITELY need to unlock the free spins round. That’s done by landing 3 or more scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4.

During the bonus round, Sticky Stack Wilds become available. These are full-reel height Wilds that land on reels 2, 3 or 4. They come with multipliers of 2x or 3x and stick for the full duration of the Dino Bonus. They can land on their own, or you can pick them up through the feature picks described below.

The Final Verdict

Dinopolis is a really fun game with a zany theme and very entertaining gameplay. Above all, like many Push Gaming slots, it feels original. Keep in mind if you do decide to play that this is a very volatile game. I was lucky enough to see 2 free spins rounds in 200 spins but you may wait much longer. The base game produces few big moments but the upbeat soundtrack and quirky dinosaur characters keep you entertained whilst you wait to unlock the bonus round. And once into the free spins, it’s easy to see how you can build big wins by getting on a lucky run, particularly when 2 or 3 Stacked Wilds are sticking on the reels.

in conclusion, if you like slots with progressive features and high potential, or just light-hearted and fun themes, then Dinopolis could be a good slot for you.
