Fang’s Inferno is a fantasy style slot from Relax Gaming featuring their multi-million GBP progressive jackpot game, Dream Drop. Spins are played on a 5×3 reel set with an extra row above and below on which Fang the dragon may appear to spread multiplier wilds or trigger free spins and mystery prize rounds with payouts of up to 5,000x. The Dream Drop game can trigger at any time for the chance to play for one of five progressive jackpots.

Spins start at 20p per play.

Testing Notes: Here’s What Happened When We Played Fangs Inferno Dream Drop

IMPORTANT: To give you an accurate assessment of the games we review our writers play 200 spins. Whilst this is a useful tool to help us review games and to give an example of what might happen when you play, keep in mind that 200 spins is only a very small sample and cannot be used to accurately predict what might happen over another 200 spins. The outcome of all slots play is always random.

Boom Or Bust? Our Session By The Numbers

I played 200 spins on Fangs Inferno Dream Drop on Relax Gaming’s test server prior to release to test the game. This is what happened.

  • Stake Size: 1
  • Start balance: 5,000
  • End balance: 4,961.11
  • Hit Rate: 22% (44 winning spins in 200)
  • Biggest Win: 44.4x
  • Free Spins Round: 0
  • Dream Drop Spins: 1

This is a really entertaining slot. Fangs the dragon shows up A LOT – on most spins in fact – though of course he doesn’t always trigger a feature because you need other things to align at the same time. However, just having the near misses kept things interesting for me, and a 22% win rate over 200 spins wasn’t bad either, with just under 1 in 4 spins producing a win of some kind.

Flamin’ Re-Spins Bonus Round
Flamin’ Re-Spins on the way to a 44.4x win

So to be clear, the base game features do NOT trigger that often. Don’t expect too many re-spins. I saw just 3, though the best one produced a 44.4x win. And the bonus pick that leads to free spins only appeared ONCE. In that instance I chose to go for the prize pick that produced a small 8.9x win.

Finally, the Dream Drop spin landed just once, unsurprisingly ending with the smallest Rapid JP. That is the most common outcome by the way!

Overall, the balance took quite a hit, but there was plenty going on and enough to suggest this game will kick out some big wins once in a while especially when those multiplier wilds align for you.

What We Liked

  • Fun fantasy theme with nice dragon and fire animations
  • Life-changing Dream Drop jackpots to play for
  • Multiplier wilds on full reels in base game
  • 9 free spins and re-triggers in bonus round
  • Choice of free spins or mystery prize in bonus pick

What We Didn't like

  • Low 5,000x non-progressive top win

What Our Reviewer Says ...

"An entertaining slot packed with action in the base game with the fire-breathing Fangs landing on almost every spin to tease out multiplier wilds! And of course, mega JPs to play for!"

Overall Score: 7.4

Theme & Design

Our Score 8

Fantasy Game-Style Design In A Mountain Top Dragon’s Lair

Fang’s Inferno has a fantasy game feel to it, not unlike Snake Arena in fact, another Relax Gaming online slot that got a Dream Drop makeover. This time we appear to be a top a snowy mountain strewn with bones and ancient symbols, with a top down view of a 5×3 gird carved in stone. Above the middle 3 reels are 3 bonus rows where Fang, your friendly Dragon, appears. It’s a quality production with lots of fun, fiery animations when bonuses drop, and an epic orchestral soundtrack too.

RTP and Variance

Our Score 7

What is RTP?

RTP (Return to Player) refers to the amount a game will pay out in cash prizes expressed as a percentage of all the money wagered on that game. For example, a 96% RTP means a game will pay out £96 for every £100 wagered. This is an average number and will vary from one session to the next.  Read more here.

What is Variance?

Variance refers to how far a game will deviate from its RTP over time. High variance games deviate a lot and produce uneven win distributions and unexpected windfalls. Low variance games provide a more stable and even distribution of wins. Read more here.

Fangs Inferno has an RTP of 94%. This might seem low to you but remember, a portion of each bet is being saved aside for the progressive jackpots. And like most Dream Drop games, Fangs Inferno has a high variance rating so it will be a volatile play. You can expect long streaks of little or no return followed by short bursts of high value wins (if you’re lucky!).

Maximum Win

Our Score 7

What Is Maximum Win?

Maximum win refers to the maximum amount a player can win from one spin. It is expressed as a multiple of the stake. For example, where the maximum win is 100,000x, from a £1 stake, the maximum win would be £100,000.

Top win outside of the progressives is just 5,000x. That is one of the lowest you’ll see in any Dream Drop game. For higher potential you should try Templar Tumble 2 or Neko Nights, both of which pay up to 20,000x.

Symbols and Paytable

Our Score 7

Fangs Inferno plays on a 5 reel and 3 row grid with 20 active paylines in play on each spin. You’ll need to land 3 or more identical symbols on a line from left to right, starting at the left most reel, to trigger a win.

Fang's Inferno Paytable
Paytable with 20x for 5 top paying premiums

There are 8 pay symbols. The low value ones are the 4 coins with axe, cup, helmet and mask on them, valued at from 0.2x for 3 axes up to 3x for 5 masks. Premiums are the horn, vase, precious stone and snake and ruby, valued at from 0.5x for 3 horns up to 20x for 5 snake and rubies.

There are also Wilds which substitute for any pay symbol to complete a payline. These expand to full reel height and appear with multipliers – more on that below.

Features and Gameplay

Our Score 8

There are a few extra features in Fang’s Inferno to spice up the gameplay, including Wilds, Re-Spins and Free Spins. Here is how they all work:

Blazin’ Wilds With Multipliers

First thing is to watch those extra rows of symbols that appear above reels 2, 3 and 4. Fang the dragon sometimes appears in any of these positions. When this happens AND a Wild Dwarf appears in any position on the same reel then Wild symbols will fill that reel.

IF Fang also displays a multiplier value (2x to 5x) when he appears, then that multiplier will be applied to ALL the Wilds on that reel.

And IF Fang appears with a multiplier both above AND below the reel with the Wilds on it, then the multipliers are MULTIPLIED before being attributed to the original Dwarf Wild ONLY, whilst the Wilds above and below the original Dwarf Wild take their values from the top or bottom Fang, whichever is closest.

Flamin’ Re-Spins

If you land 3 Fangs on either the extra top or bottom row of symbols, then 3 re-spins are awarded. During re-spins Fangs are locked in place creating more opportunities to trigger the Blazin’ Wilds.

Fangs Bonus Pick – Free Spins or Mystery Prize

Bonus symbols are represented by the letter B. If 3 or more land anywhere on the main reel set or the 2 extra rows on a spin, then the Bonus Pick is triggered. You can pick from either of these 2 bonuses:

Fiery Free Spins – you get 9 spins with locked Fang symbols where multiplier values MAY randomly increase after each spin.  The round can be re-triggered by landing 3 more bonus symbols.

Fang’s Mystery Prize – this is simply a random prize of up to 5,000x awarded if you choose this bonus.

Dream Drop Jackpots

In this version of the Dream Drop Jackpot, triggering a Dream Drop spin is done by landing 3 DDs on reels 2, 3 and 4. The game then plays out on a huge fiery reel with segments for each of the 5 jackpots: Rapid, Midi, Maxi, Major and Mega.

Whichever segment the wheel lands on is the prize you win.

The Final Verdict

Relax Gaming are kicking out these Dream Drop slots on a regular basis as they seek to grow the profile and size of the network, but that hasn’t meant a drop in quality. Fang’s Inferno is a really entertaining game with a slick bunch of features and some clever triggers for each one. Watching for Fang to appear and align with wilds on the main reel set can drive you mad at times as more often than not he appears only for there to be no wild, or when a multiplier wild is created, there is no win. However, it’s worth the wait as the combinations will be powerful when activated. And with free spins, bonus picks and those Dream Drops too, there’s a lot to enjoy in this smart little slot.

Useful Tips When Playing Fangs Inferno Dream Drop

Remember, online slots are games of chance, there is NO strategy that can improve your odds of winning. However, reading our review and following these tips will help you get the most out of your time playing this slot game.

1. Eyes On The Bonus Rows

Keep your eyes on the extra top and bottom rows of the grid for Fangs to show up. He will trigger the best parts of the base game – spreading wilds, re-spins and bonus pick.

2. Watch For The DD Symbols

The DD symbols trigger the Dream Drop feature and your chance to win a life changing jackpot. Watch out for these on reels 2, 3 and 4.

3. Start At A Low Stake

This is a high variance slot which means it can burn your balance fast. Use bankroll management and set your stake low (minimum is 20p) to avoid burning out before you even hit the bonus features.
