Until You Hit The Bonus Rounds This Is The Same Ol' Fishin' Frenzy!

Blueprint Gaming has stuck to the original Fishin’ Frenzy graphics, changing absolutely nothing, except a little sharpen-up on the symbols. At this stage, this series has so many fans that there’s really no need to tamper with the format. 

There is more of a shift when it comes to the bonus games where the old format merges with two more of Blueprint Gaming’s biggest successes, Eye of Horus and El Torero. It might just be inspired by NetEnt’s Superstars slot, but who could complain?

RTP and Variance

To make up for the new All-Star action, this slot has taken quite the hit to its RTP. It now has an RTP of just 94.22% which would be just about acceptable if there was a progressive jackpot on offer, but there isn’t. 

The non-progressive max win of 50,000x your stake does make up for it somewhat, but Fishin’ Frenzy The Big Catch manages the exact same max win, with a much better RTP of 95.32%. This slot also has high variance, so expect some dry spells between much larger wins.

Maximum Win

With a top payout of 50,000x your stake, Blueprint Gaming has upped the ante. This is a stellar payout that almost makes up for that lower than average RTP. For those chasing the big win, it seems as though you’re most likely to reach these kinds of heights in the Eye of Horus or El Torero bonus game.

Symbols and Paytable

Played on the usual 5 reel by 3 row set up, this slot has 10 paylines. To make wins, you need to match at least 3 pay symbols, or at least 2 pelicans. These must appear on adjacent reels from left to right. If you get a bit lost with your paylines then you can refer to the numbers on either side of the reels for help.

Fishin’ Frenzy All Stars has 10 pay symbols altogether, as well as a wild and a scatter. The low-paying symbols are the card suits (10, J, Q, K, A). These pay 0.5x the bet for 3x symbols, up to 10x the bet for 5x symbols. The premium symbols are the fishing bait box, the buoyancy ring, the fishing rod, the blue fish, and (most premium of all) the pelican. These pay from 2x your bet for 3 symbols up to 200x your bet for 5 symbols. 

The fisherman is the wild symbol, he substitutes for all pay symbols to complete a payline. If you land 5x fishermen it pays out 500x your bet. The Boat is the scatter symbol, landing 3, 4, or 5 of them starts one of the three bonus games.

Features and Gameplay

Fishin’ Frenzy All Stars pushed the boat out when it came to the new bonus rounds. These features make a huge impact to the gameplay, taking a classic and combining it with two more. Let’s take a look at how it all works in detail.

Wild Symbol

The fisherman is the wild symbol and plays a key part in this game. He substitutes as a pay symbol in the base game, completing a payline and paying out 0.5x, 5x, 20x or 200x for 2, 3, 4 or 5 on a line. The fisherman is also present in all three of the bonus games, so we’ll explain exactly how he works in each one below.

Scatter Symbol

The boat is the scatter symbol and landing them triggers the bonus rounds. Land 3, 4, or 5 boats on the reels at once and you start the bonus round with 10, 15 or 25 spins respectively. You get to choose which of the three bonus rounds you’d like to play. Once the bonus game starts, you can no longer land scatters.

Bonus Round (Original)

Option one for the bonus round is the original free spins round. This features the beloved cash-collect mechanic, whereby whenever a fisherman lands on the reels he collects all of the blue fish. Each fish has its own value from 2x to 50x your bet. Each additional fisherman on the reels simultaneously increases the multiplier by +1.

Bonus Round (Eye of Horus)

Option two for the bonus round is the Eye of Horus themed round. Here, any fisherman that lands can expand to fill the entire reel. Then, the picture symbols upgrade to the symbol shown above the reels. Landing (1, 2, or 3) additional fisherman wilds add 1, 3 or 5 respins which can retrigger.

Bonus Round (El Torero)

Option three for the bonus round is the El Torero themed round. Here, every fisherman symbol that lands remains locked until the end of the round, giving you the chance to land more winning combinations with even larger payouts. As always, during the round the fisherman substitutes for all pay symbols.
