We’ve classed this one as a medium variance slot, but in this session it felt tighter than that and it’s a sign that it can be a tough one to crack. In 250 spins the main event – free spins – didn’t drop once. And with little else going on, aside from the odd wild win, it got monotonous. The low win rate – just 17% – was another reason for that. The biggest win I recall was an 18x as shown in this screenshot.

So, not a great session and it illustrates one of the shortfalls of these games: with only one feature to play for, if it doesn’t drop, they can be a bit boring. Blueprint Keep The Same Simple But Iconic Design

Blueprint Gaming hasn’t deviated far from the well-beaten track when it comes to the design of this game. It’s very similar to the original Fishin’ Frenzy slot, retaining all of the same symbols and cute cartoon style that made it so popular in the first place. As the saying goes, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

The soundtrack is similar too, though there is an additional ditty in the bonus round that makes for a pretty catchy playing experience. We like the subtle animations after every winning turn.

The low value symbols are the cards from 10-Q giving a maximum value of 2.5x your stake for 6. Fisherman Free Spins

If you land three or more scatters then you earn free spins. 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters earn you 10, 15, 25, or 50 free spins respectively. As you play the spins, if you land any blue fish as well as a fisherman then he will catch them, giving you their value. 

Fish carry values of 2x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x or 50x. Better still, for every additional fisherman on the reels, your catch is multiplied by +1. That means if you land 5 fishermen at once, your catch is multiplied by 5.

This free spins round is more generous than the one found in the original Fishin Frenzy slot which maxed out at just 20 spins with no multipliers.

Blueprint Gaming took one of their classic games (Fishin’ Frenzy) and gave it a welcome update. While the graphics aren’t exactly anything new, they didn’t really need to be. The simple grid adapts perfectly to the Megaways mechanic, offering you the chance to make wins in more than 15,000 different ways. The slightly increased volatility is offset by the juicy potential max win of up to 10,000x your stake.
