100 spins was enough to get a feel for what Fizzy Pennyslot is about and it’s a lot of fun. After any win line lands it’s all about the anticipation of whether or not a good multiplier will land on the adjacent bonus reel position. Sadly it rarely does, but that doesn’t stop you hoping. The win rate was a little on the low side at just 19% but it’s never boring and still feels like there is a lot going with all the bright lights and sounds.

The biggest surprise was hitting the free spins round THREE times in just 100 spins. I wasn’t expecting that. I suspect most of the RTP is saved back for this phase because things can escalate fast as every spin upgrades one multiplier, and it looks like there are more on the bonus reel – though I can’t confirm that as it doesn’t say so in the rules. The game kicked out a 50x, 17x and 26x in the three rounds. Not bad, and a positive balance in the end.

More Retro Arcade Hall Fun From BTG

Fizzy Pennyslot is a sugary thrill with a simple 4×4 reel set housed inside a red vending machine against a bright orange backdrop with bubbles floating up from beneath the screen. It feel sticky and sickly sweet but it’s not untypical for BTG who love to throw some retro fun our way. The soundtrack puts us back in the arcade hall of Trigger Happy. Feels like the team are re-living their youth right now. Who are we to complain?!

Nothing complicated about the gameplay here – just multipliers and free spins. Here is how they work:

Bonus Reel and Multipliers

Down the right side of the game area is an extra reel called the bonus reel. It will only display blanks, trigger coins or multipliers of up to 200x in the base game and 500x during free spins. When a multiplier lands it is applied to any win on the adjacent row.

Trigger Coins and Free Spins

If a trigger coin lands on the bonus reel in the base game then the free spins round is triggered with 6 free plays.

During the round, when a multiplier lands on the bonus reel, then it is upgraded to a higher value, with a maximum of 500x. And … landing another trigger coin awards ONE extra free spin.

Exchange Wins or Gamble For Free Spins

Like many other BTG slots, Fizzy Pennyslot has an exchange feature where any win of 65x of more can be directly exchanged for entry to the free spins round with 6 plays.

Or … if you land a win of 20x to 65x then you can gamble on the spin of a wheel to enter the free spins round or lose your winnings entirely.
