Awesome Fantasy Gaming Style Design

Design of Heroes Hunt Megaways is top class with a slick illustrative style and nicely executed fantasy gaming theme. The action takes place against the backdrop of a cave with an ethereal light bathing the scene. The reels themselves feature our three heroes – warrior, wizard and archer - beautifully drawn - and other quest-type imagery like coins, crowns and gems. There are excellent animations throughout and a suitably fun soundtrack. Overall, the distinctive production style more than matches the ambition shown in the innovative gameplay.

RTP and Variance

Heroes Hunt Megaways has a variable RTP depending on the game state. It starts at 96.26% and goes up to 96.53% once you have activated all three hero features. These are good RTP rates and above average for an online slot game.

Symbols and Paytable

This isn’t your standard Megaways slot. It plays out on a 6 reel grid. Each reel has 6 positions on it but on some spins, some of those positions will be blanked out so that a minimum of 2 positions are filled. And a maximum of 6. This is a win ways game, so wins are triggered by landing 3 or more identical symbols on adjacent reels, regardless of their row position, from left to right.

This gives you up to 46,656 win ways per spin (6x6x6x6x6x6).

There are 10 symbols in the game. These are the low value gemstons – blue, turquoise, purple and green. They are valued at from 0.1x for 3 blues up to 2.5x for 6 greens. The premiums are the gold coin, crown, archer with green eye mask, wizard and warrior. These are valued at from 0.5x for 3 gold coins up to 10x for 6 warriors.

There is also a dragon symbol that pays out 2x, 4x, 10x and 20x for 3, 4, 5 or 6 in a win way.

Features and Gameplay

Heroes Hunt is a little complicated but after just a little time playing you’ll soon get the hang of it. For those new to the slot it can be worth spending a bit of time playing in demo mode to understand the progressions between levels. At it’s heart this is a super gamified slots experience with a genuine progressive gameplay where players can unlock new features and more win potential by collecting experience points.

Here is how it works:

Cascading Wins

Firstly, like many Megaways games, this is a Cascading Wins slot where after any winning spin, the winning icons are removed from the reels and replaced with new ones. More wins can be created this way, and the process repeats until no more new wins occur.

Heroes with Modifiers

There are 3 heroes in the game – the wizard, the warrior and the archer. Each has its own super -power or game feature. You pick one at the start when the game loads up to and are awarded a Modifier whenever the corresponding hero lands on reels 2-5.

Then, you can unlock the other heroes later by collecting Experience Points (EXP). You need 3 points for each extra hero.

These are their features:

The wizard awards Explosions, which can remove symbols or blockers to clear 2×2 or 3×3 spaces from the grid.

The warrior awards Expanding Wilds which fill the reel and give a 1x to 6x Multiplier.

The archer awards Respins and also fires arrows to remove 6 to 12 symbols or blockers from the grid.

NOTE: to set off a feature, you need an arrow, sword or energy field icon to land when one of the Heroes is active. 

Experience Points, Keys and Free Spins

Whenever the treasure chest lands on the reels, you receive Experience Points. You need 3 points to unlock each extra hero. Once you unlock all 3 heroes, you get key symbols on the grid and once you have collected 3 keys, you trigger the Dragon Free Spins round!

Dragon Free Spins

Landing 3 keys triggers Dragon Free Spins where you get 10 Free Spins with dragons added to the reels. Whenever a Hero modifier destroys a dragon, you get another Free Spin and at the end of the round, you get to choose a new character and begin the hunt again. 

Mimic Free Spins

The treasure chest can also activate Mimic Free Spins. During this round, you get 10 Free Spins with Wild treasure chests on reels 2 to 5 with all modifiers active.
