Theme and Design
With a funky disco background and colourful fruits on the reels, this slot is visually stunning. It’s bright and bold with a glowing backdrop, complete with a sparkling glitterball. Of course, the slot also features a classic disco soundtrack. Whether you actually grooved your way through the 80s or you’ve just always fancied it, you’ll struggle not to tap your foot to the beat.
There are plenty of other disco themed slot games, but Jammin Jars and its sequel Jammin Jars 2 have arguably taken the (dancing queen) crown as the favourites of this genre.
RTP and Variance
The default RTP of 96.83% is excellent. Push Gaming is fairly well known for their high RTP slots and this one doesn’t deviate from the script one bit. The volatility is high, really high. For big win chasers this isn’t bad news, but for those on a tight budget, something with smaller swings might be a better choice. This selection of Rock n Roll slots has a variety of different RTPs and volatilities, providing plenty of choice for music-loving players.
Push Gaming have created versions of Jammin Jars with lower RTPs - 96.83%, 95.25% and 90.45%. Some UK slot sites may run the game at less than optimum rate. Check on the game rules page once you load up the game to see what rate your casino has chosen.
Maximum Win
The top payout of 20,000x your win is above average for a slot of this RTP. Part of this slot’s runaway success has been the big wins its handed out, so those looking for a huge payout are in the right place.
Symbols and Paytable
Played on an 8x8 grid, Jammin Jars has a cluster pays mechanic. This means that there are no predefined paylines, but rather you can make a win anywhere on the grid. Clusters are made by at least 5 matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically.
There are six pay symbols as well as a wild symbol. All of the pay symbols are fruit and in order of lowest value to most premium are: blueberry, plum, apple, raspberry, orange, and strawberry. The blueberry pays out 10x your stake for 25 or more, while the strawberry pays out 100x your stake for 25 or more.
The wild is the rainbow jam jar and can substitute for any pay symbol to make wins.
Features and Gameplay
Jammin Jars is a fairly straightforward game, but does have some mechanics that make the gameplay more exciting. Let’s take a look at how they all work in-depth.
Avalanche Wins
After every winning spin, all of the symbols that made up the cluster are removed and new ones drop in (like an avalanche) to replace them. If you make another win then these symbols are removed and new ones drop in, until eventually, no new winning combination can be created. At this point, the total payout is calculated.
Multiplying Wild Jam Jars
There are what makes the game.
If a wild jar is part of a winning cluster then instead of being removed for the avalanche it will instead move to an adjacent position. This process repeats if the wild is part of another cluster from the subsequent avalanche.
The wilds also come with multipliers which increase by 1x every time they form part of a winning cluster. If multiple wilds are included in a cluster then their multipliers are added together before being applied to the total payout. And at the end of the avalanche sequence then wilds are removed for the next spin.
Rainbow Feature
If you don’t land a winning spin then don’t panic, you could unlock the rainbow feature. This only happens after non-winning spins, but it happens at random. A rainbow appears on the reels and generates an enormous fruit. If any of the symbols next to it match this fruit, then it makes a winning cluster.
Free Spins Round
In this game, the jam jar wilds also act like scatters. If you land three or more of them in the same spin then you trigger the free spins round. You begin the round with 6 free spins and all of the same mechanics as usual in place. However, the jam jar wilds and their multipliers will stay in place for the duration of the whole free spins round, allowing you to collect much larger multipliers.
Final Verdict
Jammin Jars was practically a classic the second it hit online casinos in 2018. The graphics are bold and bright, the theme is fun, and the gameplay is simple. The RTP of 96.83% is really pretty generous and that max win is tantalizing.
Those who like in-depth slot games with dozens of features and mechanics probably won’t feel at home here. However, players who enjoy exciting multipliers and a simple-to-understand slot will love it. The high volatility could be a hindrance to those on a tighter bankroll, but it does make way for larger wins, which can be no bad thing.

Results from 200 spins with real money on Jammin’ Jars at Casumo.
- Stake Size: £0.2
- Start balance: £972.80
- End balance: £999.30
- Hit Rate: 26% (52 winning spins in 200)
- Biggest Win: 190.05x
- Free Spins Round: 1
Jammin’ Jars took a while to warm up but it did deliver a couple of good wins towards the end of my 200 spins. It’s got a really fun feel to it with all those bright fruits, disco balls and the funky guitar soundtrack. The win rate came in at 26% which isn’t bad at all, but symbol values for smaller clusters are not great so a lot of those were small in value and the balance ran down fast. The wild jars turn up frequently, but don’t always produce wins. And the rainbow feature that re-sets the grid after a non -winning spin only appeared twice, and with little affect.
Like all cluster pays slots it’s about building sequences of wins with avalanches, and in this case building bigger multipliers on the wild jars. In theory that’s easier in the free spins round where they stick. I had one shot at that with a 33.7x win from 6 spins with 3 jars in action, with two 7x’s a 5x multiplier by the end of the round. However, it was actually the base game that produced the best win overall, a 190.05x win - £38.01 from 20p stake – thanks to two 7x multiplier jars. If you can get them next to each other or close, you have more chance of building clusters, and it’s easy to see how the game can escalate fast.
Of course Jammin’ Jars can go much, much higher than that, but this was still a good taster. It’s a simple game with a nice look and not surprising it’s one of Push’s most popular.
