Theme and Design
A Simple Design With Memorable Teeth, Lips and Jawbreaker Logo
Jawbreaker takes its name from the rock-hard sweets that stay in your mouth for hours as layer upon layer of tough sweetness is worn away. iSoftBet have built the jawbreaker into the games logo, merging it with a big set of teeth and lips to nice effect. It appears to be crashing though glass in the multi-colored backdrop to this game. It’s a cool image. You’ll also see a gumball machine to the right of the reels which themselves are stacked with jellies and boiled sweets. Simple, fun artwork. Just what’s needed for a sweet-themed game.

RTP and Variance
Jawbreaker comes with 3 RTP rates – 96%, 93.99% and 92%. Which you play at will depend on your casino operator. Many slot sites in the UK choose lower than 96% so it’s worth checking on the game info screen before you spend your money.
Wherever you play this is a high variance game and our 250 spin test session certainly confirmed that. Wins are likely to be very streaky, and that means possible long spells with little or no return. But of course, the game is configured to go off in a big way from time to time too. Patience and bankroll management are required!
Maximum Win
The game has a max payout of 10,000x per spin. That's not bad, and probably about average for a high variance game these days. If you like chasing down slots with lots of potential then check out our list of games with the highest max wins.
Symbols and Paytable
The game plays on 6 reels, each with 5 rows, and uses the Scatter Pays mechanic. That means you must land 8 or more identical symbols ANYWHERE on the grid to trigger a win.

There are 9 standard pay symbols in the table. They are jelly sweets in yellow, green, blue, purple and red; hard sweets in green, blue and purple and white; and a wrapped up sweet in red with white stars. These are valued at from 0.25x for 8 yellow jellies up to 25x for 12 or more top paying wrapper sweets.
There are NO wilds in this game.
Features and Gameplay
Jawbreaker is a simple slot with one mission – fill the gumball meter or collect bonus symbols to unlock the free spins round. This is how it works:
Jawbreaker Symbols
Firstly, look out of the jawbreaker symbols, represented by the round white sweet. These carry multipliers of up to 5x. These multipliers are applied to any win on the same spin, and if more than one is involved, they are added together before being applied.
Tumble Wins and the Gumball Meter
A common feature in scatter pays games, tumble wins occur on all winning spins. Winning symbols are removed from the grid and remaining ones, and new ones, drop in to fill the spaces left behind.
If more wins are created, the process repeats. And again, and again, until there are no more wins.
At the same time, with each tumble a gumball is dropped into the gumball meter. If you fill it with 6 gumballs (i.e. 6 consecutive tumbles) then the free spins round will trigger.
And to help you, there is a special feature called Sugar Rush. It triggers at random, adding between 1 and 6 extra gumballs to the meter.
Free Spins Round
As well as using the Gumball Meter to trigger free spins, you can also trigger it by landing 3, 4, 5 or 6 BONUS symbols to get yourself 10, 12, 15 or 20 free plays.
The round is nicely configured to set up some good cumulative wins.
Firstly, not only do jawbreaker multipliers apply to the spin they land on, but they are also collected in a Jawbreaker meter. The current total of the meter is always applied to wins during the round.
Secondly, watch layers be removed from the Jawbreaker meter each time a multiplier lands on a spin. There are FIVE layers, and once each has been removed you reach the core of the sweet where 3 more spins are added to your total. That’s a neat trick!
Final Verdict
This is a great slot that has been well thought-through. The gumball meter and the jawbreaker feature from free spins are brilliant, weaving the gameplay and theme together nicely. And it feels like you could see some really big moments in that bonus round. Just beware of the volatility, as it might break you if you’re not too careful!
Testing Notes
I played 250 spins on Jawbreaker on iSoftBet’s test server prior to release to test the game. This is what happened.
- Stake Size: 1
- Start balance: 1,000
- End balance: 872.75
- Hit Rate: 18.4% (46 winning spins in 250)
- Biggest Win: 11.25x
- Free Spins Round: 0
We might want to re-name this as ‘balance breaker’. That test session showed all the hallmarks of a ruthlessly volatile slot (though without the winning streak!!). The first 35 spins produced just one (yes, ONE) winning spin. Thereafter things did improve so that overall I finished with an 18.4% win rate (low, but not terrible) but the message is clear - this can be a very streaky game with long low spells.

It took 120 spins before I even saw a Jawbreaker multiplier, then 3 spins in quick succession brought up 3, 2, and 2, with wins of 11.25x, 11,25x and 6x. The best run of tumbles I got was 4 in a row, so the gumball machine never filled up completely. And I never got a sniff of 3 BONUS symbols on one spin. So, no free spins!
Overall, a tough session. No doubt this game will go off from time to time – the free spins round configuration tells you that – but not today.
