How We Review Slot Games
We test and rate all slot games across 5 criteria, assigning a score out of 10 for each and an overall score that is an average of the 5. To build an accurate assessment of each game we gather information from the supplier and play in real play or demo mode. Find out more.Toro 7s is the final slot in the Wild Toro World Tour trilogy of games released by Elk Studios. This tour started with Wild Toro 2 in Spain, followed by Book of Toro in Egypt, and now we have Toro 7s to complete the trilogy. This one transports players to the spiritual home of gambling in Las Vegas. All the Toro games have a Spanish bull-fighting flavour, as you can tell from the title of course.
ELK Studios are known for producing slots with great artwork to support their themes and narratives, and Toro 7s is no exception. The action takes place on a dusty road somewhere on the way into Vegas with a dilapidated roller coaster in the background and several signs bearing the word or number ‘7’ on them. You can almost feel the heat of a late afternoon in Nevada. It certainly creates a cool atmosphere, all backed-up with the sound of an epic rock band in full flow and the tell-tale sound of ringing slots games on a casino floor in the background. It’s slightly edgy and suggests a game with good potential.
Toro 7s is also part of ELK’s Classic Series so it utilises some very classic game styles – the symbols here are classic fruit machine icons with fruits, bars and lucky 7s, joined by a matador and a snorting bull – the Toro of the title. Meanwhile, the gaming grid contains 3 reels and 3 rows of symbols for an old school appearance, while 17 paylines add a decent number of ways to win. There are a few special features too, along with a strong 10,000x top prize, which is a surprise for a game that looks so simple at first glance.
You can play Toro 7s now at any of the recommended slot sites on this page, or choose one from the list here.

RTP and Variance
Our Score 7
What is RTP?
RTP (Return to Player) refers to the amount a game will pay out in cash prizes expressed as a percentage of all the money wagered on that game. For example, a 96% RTP means a game will pay out £96 for every £100 wagered. This is an average number and will vary from one session to the next. Read more here. What is Variance?
Variance refers to how far a game will deviate from its RTP over time. High variance games deviate a lot and produce uneven win distributions and unexpected windfalls. Low variance games provide a more stable and even distribution of wins. Read more here. The RTP of Toro 7s is set at 95%, which is below average for a slot, whilst the high volatility and 20p minimum bet create a game that isn’t an easy play for casual players. We can expect an uneven distribution of wins with long spells of little or no payback before a swift combination of Multiplier Wilds and Free Spins can open the doors for a substantial payout. So be ready for a rough ride, and if you want something less tough on your wallet, look for a game with a lower variance.
The biggest payout here is 10,000x which will be most readily accessible to players who are prepared to buy the Chili Spins from the X-citer menu which is only available OUTSIDE the UK.
Symbols and Paytable
Our Score 8
This is a game with an old-skool format for sure. Wins are created by landing three identical icons on three reels in ANY. Position. The symbols include oranges, cherries and plums, along with bar symbols, colourful 7s, a matador and a bull – el Toro. The fruits and bars pay the lowest rewards with 0.5x to 2.5x stake available for 3 of a kind. The red, green and blue 7s pay the higher rewards of 3.5x to 10x stake for 3 of a kind.
The matador on reel 2 and bull on reel 3 are the Wilds. These can substitute for the other symbols in the game and also trigger special features.
Features and Gameplay
Our Score 8
For a slot with such a simple layout, Toro 7s has a good number of features to spice up the gameplay, including a Lucky 7s bonus game that can unlock the top jackpot prize.
Nudge Wilds and Multiplier Wilds
Both the Toro Wild and Matador Wild have added uses beyond their standard substitutions in the Nudging Re-Spins feature.
When the Matador Wild lands, re-spins ensue and he will move down the reel on every Respin until falling off the screen. The Toro Wilds also trigger Respins, this time along with a 5x Multiplier. If the Toro and Matador Wilds land at the same time, the Toro sticks to the reels until the Matador nudges off the screen. The Toro Wild then begins his own Nudging Respins.
Lucky 7s Bonus Game
Landing 3 Scatters launches the Lucky 7s Bonus Game.
During the game, you need to collect lucky 7s to climb the paytable. You can collect green 7s on the first reel, blue 7s on the second reel and red 7s on the third reel. When you reach the top of the paytable, you’ll receive 3 Free Spins. If you manage to find 5 lucky 7s on their respective reels, you’ll receive the top prize of 10,000x stake.
Free Spins
Another nice part about Toro 7s is that the backdrop changes when you enter the Free Spins round – this time our Toro hero is driving his super-cool red Cadillac along the road to Vegas, and night is upon us. For those who enjoy a bit of mood-change in their slots play, this is a delightful little feature.
And it’s a good Free Spins round too! Landing 3 Scatters anywhere on the reels will trigger 10 Free Spins where ALL wins come with a a 5x Multiplier. Not only that, but you’ll also get a chance to re-trigger the round if you land three more scatters. So that’s a big enhancement on your base game spins action.

You can click on the X-citer button, which lets you buy bonus features.

The Final Verdict
Our Score 8.0
Those who are fans of the Toro series will enjoy having a spin on Toro 7s. Its use of the Re-Spins and Matador and Toro Wilds with Re-Spins and Multipliers was a strong feature of Toro 2 as well so there is some good continuity here between this game and the prequels.
One of the main strengths of this slot is in its use of interesting features which lift it out of the genre of classic 3-reel games. When you first load up Toro 7s you have the feeling you are going to be playing a very simplistic slot, and at a high variance, that can get very boring as many of your spins will simply deliver nothing. The nice surprise is that with a regular drop of Matadors and Toro Wilds there is often a little extra spin to your spins.
However, having said that, the frustrating part for any slots player in the UK is that the best features are not available here. The Chili spins with just the cherries and lucky 7s on the reels looks like it would be able to deliver big time for example, but as it is only part of the X-citer bonus buy menu it is excluded in this country. It feels a shame and leaves us wondering why ELK didn’t open up these enhancements for us? Our other gripe would be the low RTP, which at 95% is too far below the average slot game for our liking.
Nevermind though, because overall this game’s retro vibe mixed with the latest slot features is great fun, and overall the Toro 7s has a pleasing Spanish vibe mixed with a dusky Nevada backdrop that lends a certain cinematic feel to it that goes well with the compelling gameplay.
In summary, Toro 7s will please followers of Elk Studio’s Wild Toro World Tour, and it’s fine for fans of volatile, classic 3-reel slots, whilst those with smaller budgets and with a greater aversion to high risk gaming should look elsewhere for their Vegas kicks right now.
