Despite its sweet exterior, Wildies is most definitely a highly volatile game. The win rate was very low, with just 12% of spins returning a payout. The wild re-spins feature appeared just 10 times in the base game – that’s just 4% of spins. However, after 166 spins the free spins round finally tiggered. The result was a nice 143x win after I collected 6 scatters to extend the round by 3 spin twice and finished with 3 wilds on the reels, including a 2x and a 3x multiplier. It’s easy to see how Wildies could really pop in a big way if you extended the round yet further by landing more scatters and then generated even more wilds.

Stop Off At Wildies For An Upmarket Coffee and Cake!

Wildies looks like it must be a patisserie of some kind, sitting on a street corner in an upmarket part of town. The streets look well-kept and the cakes and sweets on offers at Wildies look VIP standard, with tiered sponges, glazed buns and some nice latte and cookies too. If you want a slot that makes you feel like gourging but comes with a little less saccharine overload than Sugar Rush 1000, this could be up your street. The vibe is certainly pleasant and inviting.

The pay table has 8 regular pay symbols in it. These are the cards, Jack, Queen, King and Ace, worth from 0.2x for 3 Jacks up to 1x for 5 Aces, and the candy cane, coffee, jelly and cake, worth from 1x for 3 candy canes up to 30x for 5 cakes.

There is also a Wild, represented by another cake, that comes as a block covering either 2 reels and 1 row, or 1 reel and 2 rows. It substitutes for all pay symbols to complete paylines AND has a pay value of its own – 2x for 3, 6x for 4 and 30x for 5.

Sticky Wilds With Re-Spins

So, any time a wild lands in the base game it sticks and triggers a re-spin. If more wilds land on the re-spin, they too stick in place and trigger another re-spin. Each new wild that lands in the sequence carries a multiplier. The second wild gets 2x, the third 3x, the fourth 5x and the fifth 10x.

Your multipliers are applied to any win that passes through the wild that carries them. And if more than one multiplier wild is included in a line, the multipliers are added together before being applied to the win.

Only FIVE wilds can drop in any re-spin sequence.

Free Spins With Persistent Wild Multipliers

The scatter is represented by the multi-colored cake with ‘scatter’ written across it. You need at least 3 to land on one spin to trigger the free spins. That gets you 6 plays.

The difference between free spins and the base game is that in the feature, your wilds stick between spins, though they do move position. 

You should also look out for scatters during the free spins round as they are collected. Every third scatter will get you an extra wild and 3 more spins. But that’s not all, because each new wild carries a multiplier just like in the base game.
