Beast Below showcases Hacksaw Gaming’s creative skills. This is a great-looking slot with tons of atmosphere and a suitably creepy soundtrack. It’s set in a rocky cove at night, a lonely fishing boat bobbing on the waves, seemingly overrun by a Kraken-type monster. Beneath the surface the murky waters house our reel set, a few fish swim by, air bubbles rise and strands of seaweed float upwards. Symbols and Paytable

Beast Below is a 14 payline slot with 5 reels and 4 rows. To trigger a win you will need to land 3 or more identical symbols across the reels from left to right, starting at the far left.

Symbol values in the game are not huge, but again, we are in Hacksaw Gaming territory here so you can be sure that there will be plenty of high value multipliers to help boost your wins when they do arrive.

Low value symbols are the cards, 10 through to Ace. They are valued at from 0.1x for 3 10s up to 3x for 5 Aces. The premiums are the deep-sea fish – spikey and weird looking things. They are valued at from 0.5x for 3 spikey bloaters up to 10x for 5 of the deep sea fish with headlamps!

There is also an Anchor Wild in this game that will substitute in for all other symbols to form winlines. It also pays out a nice 20x for 5 on a line.

Features and Gameplay

As always with Hacksaw Gaming slots, Beast Below is not overladen with features, but the ones it has are top quality. In this case, expanding wilds are key, and as always, they bring with them plenty of multiplier action.

Expanding Siren Wilds

First up are the Siren Wilds. Sirens can land at any time. When they do, if by expanding upwards they would form part of a winning combination, then they expand from their position to the top of the row. These Sirens also come with multipliers of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x or 200x.

More than one Expanding Siren Wild can appear on the reels at once, and if they both form part of a winline, their multipliers are added before being applied to the win.

Two Free Spins Rounds

There are also two free spins rounds in Beast Below. Look out for the FS Scatter Beast Below game logo which is required to unlock these.

Siren’s Call Bonus Round

Three scatters opens up the Siren’s Call Bonus Round with 10 free spins. Now, there is more chance of landing the original Expanding Siren Wilds, and a second Pink Siren comes into play. These also expand AND they remain on their reel, nudging upwards one row with each subsequent spin until they disappear off the top of the reels.

Pink Sirens also have multiplier values of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x or 200x.

Siren’s Call spins can be extended by landing 2 scatters to get 2 more spins or 3 scatters to get 4 more spins.

Down Below Bonus Round

Four scatters triggers the Down Below Bonus Round with a Diver symbol which is another clever variation on the expanding wild. This one expands to full reel height and comes with 3 Oxygen Charges. At the start of each spin the Diver will move one reel to right or left, consuming one Oxygen Charge as he does and updating his multiplier value too.

Diver multiplier values are 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x or 200x.

And once their Oxygen Charge reaches zero, then they are removed from the reels.

You can have up to 3 Divers on the reels at once, their multiplier values added together when they combine across a winline.

This round can also be extended by landing 2 scatters to get 2 more spins or 3 scatters to get 4 more spins.
