As we know, stylistically Hacksaw Gaming can swing wildly from dark as hell (Hand of Anubis and Rotten) to Disney-cartoon fun and friendly (King Carrot and Keep Em). This one definitely falls into the latter category, featuring as it does a cheese crazy mouse and cute tweety pie bird in Twitter-logo blue.

Get The Cheese rattles along at a nice pace with a high win rate and regular feature drops. The basics are just cascading wins with jumping wilds but things move out a few notches if you can enter the free spins feature. Here is how it works.

Super Cascades

After any win, winning symbols are removed from the grid and new ones drop down to replace them. This potentially creates more wins and further cascades which continue until no more clusters are formed.

Cascades are common cluster pays slots but in this case there is an enhancement. IF your cluster contains cheese symbols – the top paying one from the table – then all symbols except wilds and FS scatters are removed from the ENTIRE grid before new ones drop down to fill the spaces.

That’s a chance to completely re-set the grid and set up more wins. I saw this happen 7 times over 200 spins in testing which surprised me. I thought it would be a rarer occurrence. It didn’t always lead to a win, but it’s nice when it happens, like getting a full extra spin.

Jumping Wild Multipliers

Look out for little flea-like symbols with big eyes. They are jumping wilds that move between positions on the grid during a cascade.

They come as either Normal or Epic.

Normal ones start with a 1x multiplier that increases by 1x with each move. Epic are rarer, but more powerful. They start at 10x and increase by 10x with each jump.

These really add power to your cascades. I never saw a single Epic wild in the base game during our test session, but one showed up during free spins, helping to produce a nice 107.3x win.

THREE Free Spins Rounds

As ever with Hacksaw Gaming slots, there is more than one free spins round. In fact, in this case there are 3 and it’s possible to unlock them directly by landing enough FS symbols OR to level-up by completing tasks at each level.

NOTE: It took 185 spins to unlock the free spins round during testing. It’s a powerful round but don’t expect to show up too often.

Fromage Frenzy Free Spins

This is unlocked by landing THREE FS symbols. This gets you 8 spins with 2 jumping multiplier wilds present throughout. Their multipliers re-set between spins.

During Fromage Frenzy, all cheeses that are removed from the grid during cascades help to fill the cheese meter. If you fill it completely then you level-up to the Take It Cheesy round with 5 more spins.

Take It Cheesy Free Spins

The second free spins round is this one, unlocked by levelling-up from Fromage Frenzy or landing 4 FS scatters during the base game.

You get 10 spins but this time with THREE jumping wild multipliers, each of which will remain throughout the round but where the multiplier value re-sets between spins.

And once again, that cheese meter is in play and if you fill it, you’ll upgrade again, this time to the Life’s So Gouda round with 5 more spins.

Life’s So Gouda Free Spins

You can either level-up to Life’s So Gouda OR land FIVE FS symbols in the base game.

That gets you 12 spins with FOUR jumping wild multipliers, one of which is GUARANTEED to be an EPIC one. Remember, that means it starts with a 10x multiplier! And, to cap things off, this time those multipliers do NOT re-set between spins.

This is clearly the big moment everyone will be playing for. With at least one Epic Wild with a persistent value in play for the duration of 12 spins things could really go off. But I wouldn’t expect it to happen too often!

The Final Verdict

This is an excellent slot that brings together all the best bits of Hacksaw games. The classic cartoon style with Disney-esque artwork and graphic, the use of multipliers throughough, and the exponential thrills of the bonus rounds which can go off in a huge way for anyone lucky enough to make it all the way from Fromage Frenzy to Life is Gouda. And to cap it all off, it really isn’t that volatile. As our testing showed, you can sit and play for long periods with a relatively stable balance thanks to that high win rate. Top stuff!
