Gonzita’s Quest is a great game to look at but for much of the base game, there is not a lot to get excited about. This is more an exercise in waiting to unlock free spins, and that can take some time.
So just relax and enjoy the view as great stone blocks drop into place. The avalanche mechanic that made Gonzo’s Quest so popular is still here, but the progressive multiplier is not. After any win, the winning blocks blast apart in a shower of coins to create space on the grid. When this happens, new blocks drop in to replace them. New wins may be created, in which case the process repeats, and so on
Occasionally Gonzita runs over to the middle or the reel set and picks up a piece of gold and kisses it, then runs back to her position by the reels.
In our sessions there were no wins great than a 10x in the base game. But we did unlock the bonus round twice. This is done by landing three or more plain stones with multiplier values on them. When this happens, a new animation starts, the middle reel is removed and Gonzita strolls through into blazing sunshine on the other side. Now, a new screen is presented, Gonzita takes her place on a throne where reel 3 should be and your bonus begins.
Gonzita’s Makes It Through to Free SpinsWith Gonzita sat in the middle there are now just four reels, each with three rows on them. Onto each reel drops stone blocks with either blanks or multiplier values. After each drop, bet multiplier blocks remain, but blank blocks are removed. You start with 3 spins, and provided a multiplier block drops on a spin, the spin total re-sets to 3. If no multiplier drops, then the total spins drops by 1.
Mid Flow in Gonzita’s Quest Free Spins RoundThere are 3 rounds, each with a set of stones with higher multiplier values than the last. To move to the next round you must fill ONE or more of the reels with multiplier blocks before you run out of spins. When this is done, ALL the multiplier values are collected and the next round begins with higher value multipliers. These are the possible multiplier values at each level:
- Stone Slabs –1x, 2x, 5x or 7x.
- Golden Slabs –10x, 25x, 50x or 75.
- Diamond Slabs –100x, 250x, 500x or 750x.
In our sessions we unlocked the free spins round twice. The first time we run out of free spins before moving up to the Golden Slabs level. The second time we made it to Golden slabs, but not Diamond. The total win was 33x.
