What We Didn't Like
- Very simple gameplay and volatile engine
- Looks a bit dated
Theme and Design
Queenie has an old-fashioned design style to it which appears to mix Elizabethan with the Alice in Wonderland story. The Queenie character is slightly psychedelic with bright reds and neon pinks around her. There are white rabbits and pocket watches too. And the soundtrack has an odd choral tone mixed with orchestral flourishes which all sounds a bit strange. Overall it felt disorientating but maybe that is the idea. I found it hard to live with, but no doubt it will be to some people’s tastes.

RTP and Variance
Queenie has 3 available RTP settings. They are 96.51%, 95.44% or 94.56%. It is at the discretion of your casino operator which setting the game runs at. We looked at four popular slot sites to see which setting they were using:
- BacanaPlay (Skill on Net) – 94.56% RTP
- Barz Casino (White Hat Gaming) – 94.56% RTP
- Pub Casino (L and L Europe) – 94.56% RTP
- Vegasland (Aspire Global) – 96.51%
From our sample, Vegasland from Aspire Global was the only site to offer Queenie at the optimum RTP level. We recommend you play here for the best return on your wagering.
Queenie is also a high volatility slot which means it will be unpredictable and produce an uneven win distribution with a few big wins rather than many smaller ones. That makes it high risk for high reward. For more games like this check out our list of the best high variance slots.
Maximum Win
The top payout in Queenie is 4,500x. That is OK, but not huge for a high variance slot. If you want to play Pragmatic slots with higher potential try this list that includes Peking Luck (180,000x) and Buffalo King (93,750x).
Symbols and Paytable
Queenie is a win way slot with 5 reels and 3 rows of symbols. That makes 243 ways to win on each spin as 3 or more identical symbols need only fall on adjacent reels from left to right to trigger a payout. The position on the reel is not relevant.
The paytable had moderately good values with 11 symbols to score wins from. The low payers are the cards, 9 through to Ace, which award from 0.08x for 3 9s up to 1x for 5 of a kind.

The picture symbols are the premiums, all related to the story of Alice in Wonderland. You’ll find a pocket watch, crown, top hat, white rabbit and Queen of Hearts, awarding from 2x to 10x your bet for 5 of a kind.
There is also a red heart which represents the Wild symbol. It appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 to can substitute for the other symbols in the game to complete winlines.
Features and Gameplay
I wasn’t blown away by the feature list in Queenie. It has none of the inventiveness of the many modern slots. However, there are some nice instant wins, and of course four fixed jackpots, that could still make your day.
Wheel Feature With Instant Wins, Multipliers and Extra Wilds
The main event in Queenie is the Wheel Feature which is triggered by landing Heart Wilds. The number of hearts required to unlock this feature is not fixed. Instead, each time one lands, it floats to the top of the reels and merges with a heart that sits atop the Wheel itself, which is part hidden behind the reels. As more Hearts are collected, the symbols starts to flame, indicating it is ready to trigger. But you won’t know until it happens how many more Hearts are needed.
When the feature kicks in, the wheel randomly assigns one of the following prizes:
- Instant Win – a cash prize of between 8x and 200x
- Multiplier – a random value that will be applied to the total win value of the spin that triggered the wheel
- Random Wilds – a random number of wilds is added to reels 2, 3, 4 or 5. They come with a multiplier of 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 20x, 25x, 50x or 100x
- Jackpot Bonus Game – direct entry to the game for the chance to win one of four fixed Jackpots
- Free Spins Feature – direct entry to the frees spins round with between 10 and 100 spins. During free spins EVERY time the wild lands it triggers the Wheel Feature

Jackpot Bonus – Win Up To 4,000x
Perhaps the best part about Queenie slot is the Jackpot Bonus. This can be triggered during the Wheel Feature, or by landing the jackpot symbols on the reels in the base game.
It’s a simple feature with a Pick Me mechanic where you must pick cards from the screen which reveal prizes. If you match three then you win that jackpot. The FOUR jackpots are labelled Mini – 20x, Minor – 50x, Major – 200x, and Grand – 4,000x.
Look out for Boost cards too because their values are added to the jackpot totals. They may be anywhere from 5x up to 800x.
Final Verdict
Queenie is an enigmatic slot in both looks and gameplay. The style is darker than say Big Time Gaming’s take on Alice in Wonderland in White Rabbit, and its old-fashioned styling makes it feel somewhat out of place in the modern world of slots. It is also a challenging game, as things move slowly and it is never clear when the headline Wheel Feature will actually trigger, which can feel frustrating at times. When it does, there is potential there for some big wins when multipliers come into play, or directly through the fixed jackpots, but with such a long wait to trigger them without much peripheral entertainment to speak about, it could be a game that drives you away before things get interesting!
Testing Notes
I played 200 spins on Queenie for real money at Pub Casino to test the game and this is what happened.
- Stake Size: £0.25
- Start balance: £51.83
- End balance: £16.59
- Biggest Win: 8x
- Free Spins rounds: 0
- Wheel Features: 2
- Session Time: 13 minutes 34 seconds
Sometimes you spin a slot and it just doesn’t seem to be in the mood. This was one of those days. It feels like there is not a lot going on in Queenie world. The Wheel Feature triggered just twice despite lots of Heart Wilds landing. When it did the best win I got was £2 for a 25p stake – 8x. Over 200 spins even wins I scored from matching symbols were poor, never more than 2x or 3x. To be clear, this is a high variance game so this kind of pattern is to be expected, but without even any near misses to get excited about it felt like a rough deal overall.
