These games are all about creating atmosphere with big soundtracks and stunning visuals to try to re-create the feeling of a live gig. And Iron Dog have certainly tried their best to achieve that – the action takes place at a buzzing rock concert with quirky animal rockers, pink and purple spotlights, crowd noise and guitar riffs blaring out. The regular symbols in Rock the Reels Megaways include the high cards from 10 to Ace, a plectrum, tambourine, mixing deck, and band members. The best-paying regular symbols are the green-faced musician and the cougar, which can pay 6x and 15x stake respectively for 6 of a kind. The plectrum and tambourine pay up to 2x stake and the mixing deck up to 2.5x stake respectively.

In addition to these symbols, you’ll also find a spotlight Wild, a microphone Multiplier Wild and a guitar Scatter. The horizontal reel has 4 special symbols of its own, which are 4 more band members: Warthog, Octopus, Flamingo and Lion. Cascading Wins

Anyone who is a regular Megaways slot player will know all about Cascading Wins – here, any winning icons are removed from the reels after a winning spin to be replaced with new ones. If more wins are created, then the process repeats, and so on until no more wins are triggered.

Wilds and Multiplier Wilds

The spotlight Wild appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 to substitute for the other symbols. The microphone Multiplier Wild appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 when triggered by the Lion and this can award a 2x Multiplier in addition to substituting for the other symbols.

Free Spins

Landing 3 or more guitar Scatters will trigger the Free Spins round. You get 8, 10, 15 or 25 Free Spins for landing 3, 4, 5 or 6 Scatters respectively.

Transforming Symbols

Band members can appear on the horizontal reel to transform symbols during the base game and Free Spins round. Each band member can launch a different feature:

Rock the Reels Megaways is an imaginative slot with an animal rock band and classic Megaways feature, offering up to 117, 649 ways to win. There’s a lot going on here and the rules can appear overly complicated, although it all falls into place once it gets going. The gameplay relies on the Megaways feature, Free Spins and Multipliers and although the music and quirky characters add some oompf, the action doesn’t feel all that innovative. As with all Megaways slots though, it gives a good gaming session and the 25,000x stake top payout is tempting. You need to hit plenty of Multipliers to be in with a chance of hitting the biggest rewards and with this level of volatility, you’ll need a decent bankroll to keep rockin’ when the chips are down. But if you love Megaways slots, rock music and complex features, crank up the volume and enjoy.
