Theme and Design

Spinions Game Day plays out a Subbuteo-style 3d football pitch with bright green grass and fans bobbing up and down to left and right. It’s a cheerful and colorful spectacle as you would expect and beautifully rendered by the Quickspin team in their classic colors. Its what we’ve come to expect from this studio who are well known for high production values in their games. The only odd part is the soundtrack – a strange jazzy number – which feels a bit out of place in the setting.

Once the game gets going is stacked with clever animations and quirky moments as the Spinions do their thing on the football pitch.

Spinions Game Day has an RTP of 96.07% which is about average for a UK slot and represents good value for your wagering. This is a medium variance game with a lower volatility setting than the Xmas or Beach Spinions outings.

Symbols and Paytable

Spinions Game Day is a standard 5 reel and 3 row game with 25 active paylines to score wins across. They are triggered in the usual way by landing 3 or more identical symbols across the reels from left to right.

Symbol values in the paytable are nothing too special but we will see that multipliers come into play so they can be enhanced at any time.

The low value symbols are the cards 10 through to Ace. These are valued at from 0.2x for 3 10s up to 2x for 5 Aces. The premiums are the football icons, Whistle, Hat, Megaphone, Goalkeeper Gloves or Football Boots with a max payout of 8x for the boots.

Features and Gameplay

What I found exciting about this game is the original way in which features and theme are woven together as your Spinions kicking a football to each other when they land in pairs on the reels.

Look For Pairs of Wilds To Trigger Passing Wilds Re-Spins

The main feature in the base game is Passing Wild Re-Spins triggered when TWO or more wilds land simultaneously. When this happens, a re-spin is triggered where the Wilds each move to a new position. There are some funny skidding animations to watch as they run between spots.

If the re-spin brings up another wild then another re-spin occurs, and once again, the Spinions all move between positions.

But they don’t just run around. They play a bit of football too …

Once more than one Spinion Wild is on the reels, a ball gets thrown to the feet of one of them. Now, between spins the ball gets passed between Spinion Wilds and the one to receive it gets their multiplier increased by 1x to apply to the next spin.

This continues until no more wilds land.
