The hit rate stands out a mile here. I wasn’t expecting that. More than 40% of spins produced a win of some kind. However, the paytable is very tight so the vast majority are lower than stake size. However, it at least makes you feel like you’re seeing some regular returns, and if you find volatile slots with low hit rates a problem, this could be a good option for you.

It’s really just a waiting game to see when that free spins round will finally trigger. Along the way I saw that stacked wild flower with an 8x multiplier on 5 occasions (2.5% of spins). But the biggest win was a 3.2x, again because of the low pay table values.

The free spins took 163 spins to hit. I opted for the Heart Beats Faster because I wanted more spins (12 vs 7) and to see if I could hit a big win on the multiplier ladder. The ladder showed up on 5 of those 12 spins, and it did get to 80x once to produce a 48x win (5 of a kind Qs).

Take Aways? 200 spins provided a good taster of what Wild Flower is about. It’s hard to get any good wins in the base game and you should set your sights on getting into free spins in the long run. Once there, I can see big potential from that multiplier ladder, but patience is needed, and a lot of bankroll!

A Magical, Snowy Night Time Setting

Wild Flower has a magical, ethereal quality to it. The game is set against the backdrop of a snowy forest with a huge full moon above and northern lights casting greens and blues across the sky. There are wolves, pentagrams and a lady with a red-riding style hooded cloak on the paytable. It’s all quite gothic, perhaps in keeping with the image that The Cult portrayed. Whatever, it’s unlike any other slots I can think of and certainly eye-catching.

As for the soundtrack, during the base game, it’s just a spacey-ambient noise, until you land 2 or more scatters, then The Cult’s music kicks in. If you land 2 scatters, but not the third, once the reels stop spinning the music stops and returns to the ambient tune. The jarring change in tone gives the sensation of jumping from one space to another which is quite cool too.
