Online slots with a fishing theme are a mixed bag. Fishin Frenzy and Lobstermania aside, few last long in the memory. But Big Time Gaming are setting out to change all that with their early summer release, Golden Catch.

This is a Megaways™ game with the usual features, but all artfully designed around the theme of fishing and displayed against a superb backdrop cross-section of boats and idyllic shorelines above water and murky depths with teaming fish and shipwrecks under sea.

Much of the maths will be familiar to fans of the Megaways™ format – high risk, up to 117,649 paylines and a six-reel set, but big wins and multipliers arrive in a unique way that will set Golden Catch apart from others in the series.

Format and Features

The action is set to play out on a six-reel grid with up to seven rows, with a 96.71% RTP and a top payout of 31,430x.  The volatility, as expected, will be super-high.

BTG have created a Gold Fish Bonus that will be the headline feature of the game. For every spin, at random boats float across the top of the reel set with multipliers of up to 10x attached. After a win cascade occurs and before new symbols drop down Gold Fish appear in the empty spaces. If a boat is present too, then the Gold Fish bonus pays along with the boat multiplier.

There is also a free spins (with re-triggers) round in which each new boat to appear has a higher multiplier than the last. It’s BTG’s way of giving you that famous progressive multiplier feature that is famous in Megaways™ games.
