Theme and Design

Beast Mode looks and sounds great, and its artistic style is definitely Relax Gaming. If you’ve played slots like Top Dawg$ then you will recognise the illustrative style. It has an 80s feel to it and looks like it is set on an LA beach front with graffiti artwork everywhere and fun depictions of cartoon animals pumping iron on the beach, whilst police cars circle and a hypnotic soft-synthesizer track plays in the background. The overall vibe, which I like, is warm, even laid back, and perhaps at odds with the highly volatile nature of the gameplay which I will come onto next.

RTP and Variance

Beast Mode has a Return to Player of 96.32%. That is just above the industry average which comes in around 96%. It represents good value for money and better than other Relax Gaming slots like Wild Yield (96.12%) and Dead Rider’s Trail (96%).

This is also a highly volatile game so beware, it can be very unpredictable with long low spells with little return, but also the potential to kick out some thrilling win sequences. If you love the Money Train series or games like Space Miners and Jurassic Party, then this could be a great choice for you.

Maximum Win

Beast Mode is not the highest paying Relax slot of all time, however, it does still have a tasty top win of 25,000x. If that doesn’t whet your appetite enough you can always chase down bigger pay offs in Dead Man’s Trail (50,000x), Wild Yield (50,000x) or even Money Train 3 (100,000x).

Symbols and Paytable

If, like me, you love a good 4,096 paylines slot then you will love Beast Mode. Features and Gameplay

As you might expect of a slot game designed on the feedback from a bunch of feature-hungry slots fanatics, Beast Mode doesn’t shirk on the bonus action which is why I found it such a fun game to play.

Base Game Features

The action throughout is driven by Cascading Wins, so after any winning spin, winning symbols are slashed off the reels, existing symbols drop down to fill the gaps and new symbols drop in to fill the remaining spaces. This process repeats until no more wins are triggered. If you play slots a lot you will have seen this feature in countless other games.

In the base game there are also Random Mystery Spins and Mystery Symbols. These drop at any time.

Mystery Symbols will reveal one pay symbol when they land. The important part is that if more than one Mystery Symbol lands then each one reveals the SAME pay symbol, to increase the chances of scoring wins. On a Random Mystery Spin you are GUARANTEED to land at least one Mystery Symbol. If wins are triggered, then on each Cascade, the Mystery Symbols will reveal a new pay symbol.

In short, Random Mystery Spins are extra spins with better odds of scoring wins, particularly when 3 or 4 Mystery Symbols land.

Free Spins – Choose From Three Options

By far the most exciting part of Beast Mode, and the reason why this game is so popular amongst Relax fans is the free spins options.

As usual, you will need to collect 3 or 4 bonus symbols to trigger this. Bonus symbols are collected at the top of the reels throughout Cascades and are displayed as stars. In an interesting twist, 3 bonus symbols means you have the option to gamble a 50/50 wheel spin to play the upgraded version of the free spins round rather than the basic version. Four bonus symbols takes you straight there.

Beast Mode has THREE free spins options. I love this part because it has literally been configured so you can choose a mode that suits your preferred game features.

The first is Mystery Symbols Free Spins which is SIX at standard level and TEN at upgraded level. This one is good because it adds a bomb symbol randomly onto the reels to add 3 more spins to your total and an extra row to reels 2, 3 and 4.
