Wild Booster is a 5 reel video slot with 20 paylines from Pragmatic Play. It has a high variance and a 5,000x maximum win. The gameplay is simple, driven by Wilds, Scatters and Multipliers. Wild Booster is all about hitting the free spins round if you want to score a big win and that is just what happened in this test session. I triggered free spins twice and chose Mega Boost the first time for a 343.7x win, and Ultra Boost the second time for a 20.25x win. The Mega Boost was much better because I managed to take the multiplier right up to 100x and had 20 spins along the way.  It is an exciting game to play when things are going your way and the multiplier it growing. Of course, it can work the other way too, but on this occasion I got lucky.

A Very Simple, Video Slot Design With Bright Lights And Loud Soundtrack

Wild Booster is a classic old skool video slot with a nice modern twist through the multiplier boosts in the feature rounds. It wouldn’t look out of place on a Vegas slots floor with all it’s classic fruit machine icons, bright flashing colors and lights and noisy bleeps and disco soundtrack. If you like that kind of traditional production then you’ll love Wild Booster. There is not much more to say about the audio-visuals here. It’s a long way from the modern games from the like of Hacksaw and Nolimit City, but it will please some players.

The optimum level of 96.47% is very good but you should check the game info screen before you part with you money to be sure you are playing at this, or the 95.46% level, for the best return on your wagering.

What Is Maximum Win?

Maximum win refers to the maximum amount a player can win from one spin. It is expressed as a multiple of the stake. For example, where the maximum win is 100,000x, from a £1 stake, the maximum win would be £100,000.  

The top payout in Wild Booster is 5,000x which is not huge, but normal for a Pragmatic Play game. Other games from the same studio with a similar model include Hot Fiesta (5,000x) and Panda’s Fortune 2 (5,000x).

This is a classic slot machine with 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 paylines. You’ll need 3 or more identical symbols to land from left to right on a payline to trigger a win and there is some good value in the paytable a the top end.

Starting with the lower value symbols, they are the traditional playing card suits: Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts and Spades with prizes of up to 3x the stake when 5 appear on a payline. Meanwhile, premium symbols are represented by Cherries, the Orange, a Strawberry, a Lemon and a Red Seven which deliver between 5x and 30x your bet for 5 of a kind.

Special symbols include the Wild and Scatter, with the Wild substituting all other icons bar Scatter when completing win combinations. The scatter itself is depicted as a huge, grandiose Diamond and it is vital as it triggers the Super Boost Free Spins where all the best wins are.

I found the gameplay in Wild Booster to be straight forward. The base game can be a bit slow- it doesn’t pay out that often due to the high volatility, but the 2 free spins options – Mega or Ultra Boost – are fast-paced and compelling. You want to unlock these features to get any joy out of this game.

But lets start with the one base game feature …

Whenever Wilds appears on the reels, the Wild Boost Multiplier Feature may be randomly activated. This gives you up to a 100x Multiplier which is applied on all wins which contain at least one Wild.

Before the feature begins, you can choose either the Mega or Ultra free spins option. Both have a progressive multiplier feature, activated by landing more scatters.

During the round, each time that you collect 5 Scatters on a spin, the Multiplier will grow, to 5x, then to 10x and if you have 15 scatters, to 100x. In addition to the progressive multiplier, 5 extra spins are added with each step up.

Ultra Boost With Up To 50x Multipliers

If you choose Ultra Boost then you also get 5 free spins to start, and a 3x Boost Multiplier which is applied to all wins that include a Wild. Each time that you obtain 5 Scatters, the Multiplier will grow, initially to the value of 6x, then to 12x and finally to 50x. And once again, each time that 5 scatters are collected, 5 extra spins are added to your total. In the Ultra Round, there are MORE scatters on the reels to give your more chance of hitting that top mutiplier value.

In short, the Mega means a bigger multiplier to aim for, but less scatters to do so with. it’s a matter of which option you feel more comfortable with.

The Final Verdict

If you are a straight-forward gambler who loves a good old skool video slot then Wild Booster is the game for you. This is all about shooting for the big wins without any complicated features to get in the way – you certainly don’t have to think too hard about what is happening on those reels.

My test session showed what can happen when you get lucky with those scatters and keep pushing that multiplier value up. I enjoyed having the option to pick between the two free spins configurations and though the odds are no different on either, if it happened again I would go for the Mega Boost again with the chance to land a 100x multiplier.

Overall the production is first class and the only caveat with Wild Booster would be to watch out for the lower RTP settings that some casinos may choose which can squeeze the return on your wagering somewhat.
