Review Summary

Midnite has existed as a start-up eSports betting site since 2018. After securing over $35 million in capital since 2020 and adding a full sportsbook and casino to its platform the brand's profile has increased significantly in the last few years. You'll now see Midnite advertised on TV across Sky, Channel 4 and Channel 5 - a further sign of their increased presence in the landscape of British gambling.

I tried the site out for the first time this year and was hugely impressed. The company is very ambitious and wants to compete with the big brands by focusing on product rather than glitzy ads and big bonus budgets. They won’t be the first company to say that but in this case the experience on the website and app is genuinely better than most competitors. It feels like it’s been built for a new generation with slick design and easy usability for mobile users. If you’re fed up with the bloated websites of high street brands like Ladbrokes, or the cookie-cutter white labels from Skill on Net or Aspire Global, then Midnite is a great option.

It's not just the product that’s impressive. As I researched this review I found the player experience to be excellent too with fast payouts (under 5 minutes in my case), good value offers (all free spins are ‘no wager’), good RTP rates on all games, low minimum deposit and withdrawals at £5 with no fees, and daily free scratchcard bonuses. They also handle their verification processes well with a clear explanation of the different points at which checks are made published on the site. That's a positive indicator for me that Midnite understand what players want from their casino.

There are a few areas where the is room for improvement. There are around 1,600 slots in the list from 45 providers. That’s a lot, but it doesn’t compete with the bigger independent sites out there. And only one jackpot network is available – Blueprint’s Jackpot King. They could do with a few more payment options to attract a wider audience too. And if you’re looking for a match deposit bonus you won’t get that here.

But overall, I think Midnite is achieving its objectives. This is a fresh-looking site and app with good games and fair promos. I discuss all that on more detail further into this review.

Expert and Player Reviews From Across The Web

We also looked at other forum and consumer review sites when researching our own review to see what experiences other people have had at Midnite. Here are the scores from 4 of those sites:

  • TrustPilot: 3.4/5
  • Casinomeister: 8.1/10
  • Ask Gamblers: 6.6/10
  • Casino Guru: 6.3/10

AVERAGE: 3.48/5

Midnite gets mixed reviews from these samples. However, I was interested to note that 47% of people who reviewed the site on TrustPilot gave it 5/5 with many comments about the great website and app and fast payouts. The Casinomeister review also gives positive feedback on the withdrawals, app design and game selection. Curiously they mention low RTP rates on slots which does not align with what I found. Perhaps they have responded to complaints and improved in this area. You can also find some interesting real player comments about Midnite in this thread on the forum. They are generally very positive. One player describes a £10k win being processed within 3 hours including a congratulatory phone call from the casino manager.

On balance I would say that Midnite gets more positive coverage from players than negative which is unusual in forums and on TrustPilot where many players go to vent after a bad run or becoming frustrated by account verification processes and slow withdrawals.

Steps To Register and Claim Your Bonus At Midnite

  1. Hit the Join Now button on the Midnite website or in the mobile app
  2. Enter your personal details into the form. You need to provide your full name, date of birth, mobile number and postal address. Make sure these details are correct. Midnite will perform automated checks on your ID and address using 3rd party verification tools. This is a requirement of UK gambling law.
  3. If your details don’t match you may be required to provide ID documents like a driver license. If requested, send or upload these.
  4. After submitting your details you will be prompted to set your own deposit limits using the responsible gambling tools. This is optional.
  5. Hit ‘Deposit’ and enter the amount you wish to fund and your payment option.

Sign Up Offer Terms

There are NO wagering requirements associated with this offer. Any winnings you accrue from your wagering are paid straight onto your cash balance where they can be withdrawn or wagered.

Is This A Good Deal?

This is an excellent deal for anyone who enjoys Big Bass Splash slot. A no wagering free spins deal is always popular and with no cap on how much you can win, this is premium! There is only one better no wager free spins available right now and that is at Kwiff Casino where you can claim 200 spins on Book of Dead. However, in that case you need to deposit and wager £20 or more for each set of 40 spins so the bar is higher to qualify.

Of course, if you want a deposit match with your sign-up deal to give you a wider choice of games to play your bonus on then this deal won’t be for you. If you want a match bonus I recommend Bet247 where you can currently get 100% up to £247.

Promotions and Loyalty Program

Midnite run regular offers for casino players. These are available via the ‘Rewards’ link once you are logged in. They include daily scratchcards and ‘no wager’ free spins deals.

“”These are simple offers, nicely presented on the website with clear instructions on how to qualify each time. However, there are fewer deals than you find at bigger independent casinos like Casumo or white label sites like Play OJO where fully integrated loyalty programs with level-ups and live leaderboard tournaments are available.

Drops and Wins Tournaments

Pragmatic Play games at Midnite Casino are part of their annual Drops and Wins promotion. These are networked tournaments pooling players from 1,000s of casinos worldwide. They run daily, weekly and monthly with £10,000s in prizes. When you load up a Pragmatic slot you will be asked if you want to opt in to the current leaderboard. It’s free to enter.

Software and Games

8/10

Midnite has a sizeable casino catalogue complimenting its sportsbook, all listed under ‘Games’ and ‘Live Casino’ in the main menu. There is an impressive range of slots, live tables, virtual tables, Megaways, jackpots, Slingos and instant wins like plinkos and scratchcards. There are powerful search and filter options to explore the lists by category, game name or provider.

Here's a summary of the game types available at Midnite.

Catalogue and Game Providers

There are 45 providers listed. You can browse them all from the ‘Providers’ list in the casino menu. I spotted most of my favourites including Nolimit City, Hacksaw Gaming, Thunderkick and Relax Gaming. But no Push Gaming or Quickspin. There are also big names like IGT, Play n Go, Pragmatic and NetEnt. The number of providers is growing - there were just 30 at launch – so expect to see more added over the coming months.

I’ve picked out 10 from the list that showcase the depth of talent represented in the game menu.

Online Slots

Altogether there are over 1,600 slots to try and there are lots of neat filters to help you find games you like. You can browse Top Picks (a sort of Editor’s Choice with lots of classics), New Games (which looks very up to date including games released in the last few days), and Most Popular or Trending for games that are hot right now. There’s also some playful names to help you find games with themes you like – ‘Luck of the Irish’ including Rainbow Riches games, ‘Sweet Like Candy’ including Sweet Bonanza, ‘Walk Like An Egyptian’ for classics like Book of Dead, and ‘The Good, The Bad and the Ugly’ for Wild West slots. There are also 127 Megaways games, listed under ‘Megaways’, including classics like Bonanza Megaways, Temple Tumble Megaways and Monopoly Megaways.

‘In short, this is an excellent list, nicely curate and easy to explore’.

If you’re unsure where to start then here are 15 top slots I recommend from the list at Midnite.

Slots RTP Settings at Midnite

Return to Player (RTP) rates at Midnite are good. Whilst many operators choose to run slots at 92% or less when they can, most games we spot-checked at Midnite were set to 94% or higher. Here are some example:

  • Book of Dead (Play n Go): 96.21% RTP
  • Gigantoonz (Play n Go): 96.25% RTP
  • Big Bass Bonanza (Pragmatic Play): 94.02% RTP
  • Mental (Nolimit City): 96.08% RTP
  • Hand of Anubus (Hacksaw Gaming): 94.32% RTP

NOTE: The best-performing slot site in this analysis is MrQ from Lindar Media which runs EVERY game at the max RTP rate.

Jackpot Slots

The progressive jackpot list is one of the few areas in which Midnite does not perform well in this review. There are only Jackpot King games from Blueprint Gaming and none of the bigger networks like Mega Moolah, Mega Fortune or Dream Drop. The Jackpot King slots include Eye of Horus, King Kong Cash and Rick and Morty.

Live Dealer

Live Dealer games at Midnite are provided by Evolution Gaming and Pragmatic Play who are the industry leaders in this area. Through their lobbies, networked with 1,000s of other online casinos bringing 1,000s players together, you get access to Blackjack, Roulette, SicBo, Baccarat, Poker and Gameshows.

The range of stake sizes is excellent and every game comes in multiple formats with something for every type of player from casual gamblers playing their first hands to VIPs betting big money at the Salon Prive tables.

For me the highlight of the live dealer area is the gameshows which bring glitz and glamour with prize games like Crazy Time and Monopoly Live or alternative versions of classics like Lightning Roulette.

Here are 5 live dealer games and their main features available at Midnite.

Live Dealer GameProviderGame Info
Fireball RouletteEvolution GamingRoulette with bonus round in which a mulitplier prizes are paid
Lighting BlackjackEvolution GamingStandard blackjack with multipliers of up of up to 25x for each hand
Funky TimeEvolution GamingDisco-themed version of Crazy Time with prize wheel and bonus rounds with extra multipliers
Monopoly LiveEvolution GamingClassic prize wheel game but with 3-d Monopoly-themed bonus round with extra prizes
Speed BlackjackEvolution Gaming7 seat blackjack where fastest player to Hit, Split or Double is dealt first

Table Games

There is also a small selection of virtual table games, though these lack the excitement of the live streams in my opinion. Options include 20p roulette from Inspire Gaming, NetEnt’s Classic Blackjack and 3d Baccarat from Iron Dog Studios.

Slingos

There is also a strong list of Slingo games – 48 in total – mixing classics with the new versions with iconic slots tagged on, including Book of Slingo, Slingo Starburst and Slingo Da Vinci Diamonds.

If you enjoy Slingo then you might also like to check out our Slingo sites list.

Other Games

If you hit the ‘Instant Win’ link in the games menu you’ll find a list of alternative formats including plinkos, scratchcards, crash games and dice games. These are low stakes with a slower pace to the slots and the live action. There are some interesting themes and designs, and a few iconic brands re-worked like Big Bass Crash from Pragmatic Play and Chaos Crew Scratch from Hacksaw Gaming.

Website and App Experience

9/10

I was very impressed with the website at Midnite.

This is an independent platform built with the aim of making Midnite a top tier sportsbook and casino for long into the future. A lot of money has been invested into getting this right and it shows. The design is refined and the charcoal background and green and white text gives a premium quality to the experience. I found the usability to be excellent, setting Midnite apart from most of its tired-looking competitors in the industry, many of which are built on platforms that could do with a re-build in my opinion.

Midnite Home Page

Particular highlights included the registration, account and cashier pages which were are all very intuitive. The Casino Club and Rewards area were very smart too, making it easy to find my latest bonuses and see how far I have progressed in claiming them. The game menu is also simple whilst providing enough filters to give you the tools to explore in depth. Then, when you’ve chosen a game, it loads up within the frame of the site so you can still view your account links, make a quick deposit and view any free spins you’ve earned without shutting down.

All these details combined with the classy visuals make Midnite a pleasure to play at.

Download the Midnite Mobile App

This is also a highly rated Midnite app available on both iPhone and Android devices. You’ll need iPhone IOS 16.0 (September 2022) or later to use it. The same games and betting markets are offered along with cashier and responsible gambling tools. The app is rated 4.7/5 from over 4,000 reviews on the App Store and 4.6/5 from over 1,700 reviews on Google Play. Those are excellent scores.

Banking

7/10

Midnite offers a basic range of payment services. You can deposit and withdraw to Visa and Mastercard, PaypalSkrill, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Trustly. The site has an unusually low deposit AND withdrawal limit of just £5 and charges no fees for withdrawals which is good. For more sites like this check out our list of £10 deposit casinos.

Payout Speed

As with most casinos, withdrawal times at Midnite can vary depending on the time of day and the size of your transaction. According to the website it can take anywhere from a few hours to 72 hours for a withdrawal to be processed. The support team told me they rarely process withdrawals at weekends which accounts for the 72 hours. However, during the week they can be very quick. I have had withdrawals of £10 processed here to Paypal literally in seconds. There are also many comments on TrustPilot from customers who have received funds in just a few hours.

Know Your Customer Checks (KYC)

Like all UK-licensed betting sites, Midnite must carry out checks on its customers to verify their ID and age, and on occasion, the source of funds used to gamble. This is part of their social responsibility and anti-money laundering (AML) commitments. Some operators handle this aspect of the player experience better than others. I think Midnite gets it right by being transparent about when and how these checks are made on a page entitled, ‘Explaining Verification Levels’. This is how it works:

  1. Level 1 (Basic Verification) - on registration checks are made electronically using 3rd party verification tools. If the information you enter matches public databases, you won’t need to do anything else. Occasionally, you will be asked to provide proof of ID and address. If so, you will be directed to the verification page to upload documents.
  2. Level 2 (Standard Verification) – if your spend levels reach higher thresholds – normally around £1,000 to £2,000 – then you may be asked for verification documents via a message in your account or on email or SMS.
  3. Level 3 (Advanced Verification) – the Risk team at Midnite assesses everyone’s spend and activity levels. If patterns of play trigger further checks then you will be contacted and you may be asked to provide proof of earning or source of funds.

What Documents Will I Need To Provide?

For KYC Checks you may be asked to provide 1 or more of the following documents:

  • Passport, driver license, government-issued ID – to prove your ID and age
  • Bank statement, utility bill, government-issued letter – to prove your address
  • Bank card – proof of ownership of payment method
  • Pay slip – proof of earnings
  • Bank statement – proof of source of wealth or earnings

Customer Support

7/10

Contacting Support

  • Email (24/7)support@midnite.com
  • Live Chat (24/7) – via the ‘Live Support’ link in footer
  • Phone Support – Not available
  • FAQs – via the ‘Help Center’ link in your account

Support at Midnite is via live chat, email or FAQs. There is no phone line.

To access all these you need to head to the ‘Help Center’. Whilst the FAQs is helpful for some questions, the live chat service is preferable. It starts with AI bots who were surprisingly accurate in their responses, but if you wish to speak to a real person you can just request to speak to an agent. The response time is quoted as up to an hour but in my experience it took just a few minutes for the agent to come online. The FAQs is also useful with a list of articles that is searchable by keyword and grouped by categories like ‘Promos’, ‘Verification’ or ‘Payments’.

Player Protection and Trust

9/10

Player protection is central to the licensing framework for gambling in the UK. The regulator sets out standards in all areas that must be met to ensure safe and fair gambling. As a UK-licensed operator, Midnite has built the following features into its platform to achieve this.

Responsible Gambling Tools – via a Safer Gambling link in your account you can set limits on your losses or deposits by day, week or month. There are also tools to ‘Cool Off’ or take a break for up to 30 days where you can’t deposit or wager, set Reality Checks to remind you how long you’ve been online for, and exclude yourself entirely from the site for up to 5 years.

GAMSTOP – Midnite is also part of the GAMSTOP self-exclusion program that allows a player to exclude themselves from all licensed betting sites.

Game Testing – all games at Midnite are from licensed suppliers. That means they are regularly tested and audited to ensure the game engines are performing to advertised RTP levels and producing entirely random results. Testing is carried out by approved 3rd party testing houses.

Fair Bonus Terms – all offers must have fair and transparent terms withreasonable wagering requirements and withdrawal restrictions. A link to the terms and conditions must be published adjacent to any offer headline.

Site Encryption – all transactions are encrypted and carried out over a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection, the industry standard protocol for sensitive information.

Know Your Customer Checks (KYC) – as a safeguard against fraud, under-age gambling, money laundering and problem gambling, checks on players ID, address and source of funds are routinely carried out. Midnite also has a Risk team that identifies patterns of play that might signal a gambling problem.

Dispute Resolution – if you are not happy with the level of service you receive then you have a path to escalate a complaint. First, you can make a complaint via email to support@midnite.com. But if you are not happy with the response you receive you can escalate to a nominated Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). In this case that is IBAS, the Independent Betting Adjudication Service. Their service is free, fair and impartial.

Insolvency Protection – Midnite are required to hold player balances in a separate bank account to the main business funds. This is to provide protection in case of insolvency.

How Does The Gambling Commission Maintain Standards?

To ensure Midnite adhere to the conditions laid out in the License and Conditions Code of Practice (LCCP), audits are carried out by the UK Gambling Commission on the platform and operational processes of the company. Audits are comprehensive with particular attention given to Anti-Money Laundering and Social Responsibility, including how KYC checks are carried out and how player behaviour is analysed for signs of problem gambling. Any failings can be punished with fines, or in extreme cases, a suspension of the license.

The bottom line here is that customers at Midnite are well protected with high standards for safety and fairness. Furthermore, my own experience of testing the website and the experience of other players as seen in reviews on TrustPilot and Casinomeister all point to the fact that Midnite is a trustworthy operator.

Our Verdict

I really enjoyed the Midnite experience. The platform is particularly strong with a really good website, nicely designed and easy to follow with an excellent account area and game menu. The way KYC is handled in particular gives me confidence this is a brand that will try to make my life as easy as it can. The slots selection, whilst a little short in numbers compared to what you might find at other slot sites, is still of a high quality, and I would expect more suppliers and games to be added in the future. And the clincher? That sign up deal with 100 no wager slots.
