NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL A CLOSE ENCOUNTER!

As slots fanatics, we thought we’d seen it all until now! Why? Because young team, Swintt have just turned festive slots on their head with a bizarre but seriously fun slot game, Santa vs Aliens. It’s out now at selected casinos, including Temple Nile and Dream Vegas, and well worth a spin by our reckoning.

In the run up to holiday season it’s not unusual for slots providers to celebrate with a Christmas game release in early December. Most opt for a re-working of a tried and tested game, reluctant to spend big bucks on a slot that will only have value for a few weeks each year. Swintt have bucked that trend as they pit a beefed-up but benevolent Santa Claus against some malevolent and marauding aliens who want to get in the way of our man’s mission to spread gifts and joy!

So, what else can we expect from this bonkers Xmas offering?

Straight off the bat this is a simple game with a 5 reel and 3 row set up and 20 fixed paylines in play at all times. Graphically it sparkles and shimmers with plenty of gaudy Christmas finery, baubles, candy sticks and festive greenery around the game stage. In the background you can just about make-out a snow-capped tree-lined street.  Anyone who has played a Swintt game before willc recognise the cartoon graphical style and feel right at home.

There is a wide variety of symbols – 11 in total – with different colored baubles giving way to wrapped-up presents, ray guns, an axe and a rifle (feels like things are going to kick-off!).

There is also a purple egg, a robot, a dog, a star and Wild Santa himself, who weighs in with a 200x valuation for the maximum of 5 on a payline.

Wins on Santa vs Aliens are scored by landing three or more identical icons on a winline from left to right. But the main event is a free spins round triggered by scoring three or more alien scatters in one spin. This leads to the bonus round which kicks off with the spin of a wheel. Spinning the wheel grants either a multiplier of up to 100x or a set number of up to 20 free plays. Swintt have thrown in an expanding wild with the free spins round – these are triggered by landing Santa himself and any random number can be added, significantly enhancing the paytable at that point.

Swintt are obviously overjoyed with their new release. On announcing it’s immintent arrival at UK slot sites, CCO David Mann has said: “Swintt has always led the way when it comes to producing original titles – and this Christmas we’ve gone all out with our quirky Santa vs Aliens slot.
