3 Clown Monty from Play n Go is all about a mobile circus. You’ll meet some colourful but downbeat clown characters on the reels who look like their best days might be behind them, while the background shows the doors of a circus van. There are 5 reels and 3 rows of symbols for a classic appearance. Although you might expect fun and games, the atmosphere here is quite dark and not at all like the cheerful mood in other circus slots, such as Golden Ticket.

The dark moodiness of 3 Clown Monty matches the irritable-looking clowns with a grumpy, cigar-smoking gorilla (clearly just waiting for his chance to escape and cause mayhem). 3 Clown Monty is great for circus fans with lots of colour and an intense atmosphere, although if you find clowns creepy, the annoyed expressions on these characters could be disconcerting. The best part of the game is the Free Spins round, which has multiple layers. Monty Spins are nested inside the regular Free Spins, allowing for some great potential payouts, especially if you’re lucky with the Multipliers and Sticky Wilds. Play n Go has made this super volatile, although the 10p minimum bet keeps it playable. None of these features are totally new and the base game can be uneventful, but the way the Free Spins nest together and the other bonus features make it feel fresh.
