Divine Divas
By Play n Go
Divine Divas by Play n Go is an Ancient Greek slot with scatter pays in which 3 Greek goddesses look to settle their arguments. Each one – Athena, Hera and Aphrodite – is represented by a different colour which is added to Tri symbols when they form scatter wins together. Add all 3 colors to a Tri symbol during a cascade and an extra prize is awarded. There are also Mystery Symbols in the base game that can reveal more Tris or goddesses. The free spins round has THREE configurations to choose from, each with different numbers of spins and multiplier values.
Win up to 5,000x and spin from 10p.

Theme and Design
In Ancient Greek Mythology, the goddesses Aphrodite, Athena, and Hera started an argument so powerful that it triggered the beginning of the Trojan War. The argument? Which of them is the fairest. This slot doesn’t have that war-mongering feel to it at all. However, it does prominently feature the three goddesses, illustrated in a seductive style. It’s up to you to choose who is the fairest when you make it to the ‘pick bonus’ free spins round, but to us, they all seem to have a pretty nice surprise lined up.
The base game is played in a classic Greek temple up in the clouds. Twinkles of sunlight glimmer through the clouds, and a rainbow even appears to one side of the temple. It’s pretty dreamy. However, when you get to the free spins round, it all changes. The goddesses are fired up waiting to find out who is the fairest. Night falls and braziers leap and dance with flames at the front of the screen. It’s a beautiful and thoughtful slot design that draws on inspiration from an actual story to create a well-rounded game.
RTP and Variance
Like many Play’n Go online slots, Divine Divas has more than on RTP setting. They are 96.25%, 94.25%, 91.25%, 87.25% and 84.25%. Some UK slot sites will run the game at the lower RTP rates and are to be avoided. Wherever you play you can check the RTP rate on the game rules page by hitting the 'i' button under the reels.
We recommend MrQ from Lindar Media which always runs Play n Go slots at the max RTP rates.
This is a high variance slot so the win distribution is likely to be uneven, so use bankroll management and set your stake to a low level to ride out those dry streaks.
Maximum Win
The top payout is 5,000x your stake which is quite low for a high variance slot. If you want Play n Go games with better potential then check out this article.
And if you like an Ancient Greek theme but fancy shooting for a bigger win then Parthenon Quest for Immortality is a great shout, with a huge max win of 60,000x your stake.
Symbols and Paytable
Divine Divas is played on 5 reels and 5 rows with no traditional paylines, but a scatter pays mechanic instead. Wins are generated by landing 6 or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid.
The game features 8 pay symbols in total. The lower-paying symbols include the playing card suits, diamonds, clubs, spades, hearts, as well as hexagons. For these symbols, landing a cluster of 14 or more awards between 10x and 20x the bet. The premium symbols are represented by the Greek goddesses Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite, each offering 100x the bet for a cluster of 14 or more symbols.
Features and Gameplay
Divine Divas is an interesting slot with some unique gameplay and a free spins round with THREE options. Here is how it works.
Cascading Wins
Whenever you form a win, the symbols that were part of it are removed and new symbols ‘cascade’ down into their place. If you make another win then the same thing happens again until no new wins are formed. You’re paid out at the end of the cascade.
Tri-Symbols
Tri-Symbols are a unique feature that act as a ‘quest’.
First, tri-symbols acts as wilds for any of the premium symbols (Athena, Aphrodite, and Hera) to help complete scatter payouts. As the same time, when a Tri-Symbol is used in a win, a segment the same color as the premium symbol that formed the scatter win is filled in. For example, if the tri symbol is used with Athena (green), then a green segement on the symbol is filled.
To complete the Tri-Symbol quest, you need to use a tri-symbol in a win for each of the three of the premium symbols. This will fill in each of the 3 colored symbols. Remember, as long as the cascade sequence continues, there are more chance to complete the quest.
Then, once a Tri-Symbol is complete, it will reward its own payout of between 1x and 5x the bet.
NOTE: Tri symbols do not appear that frequently. Over 100 base game spins I only saw them TWICE in testing.
Mystery Symbols
Mystery symbols can appear on any spin except your first spin, and during a cascade. When they do appear, they appear in groups of at least 5. They then spin to reveal their true symbol, which is always a high pay symbol, or a Tri-Symbol.
NOTE: Unusually, Mystery Symbols do NOT always reveal the same symbol type as one another.
Free Spins - THREE Options
If you land 3 or more scatter symbols - represented by the god with the golden apple(!?) - then the free spins round is triggered. Before you start you can pick which configuration to run with.
I like this set up. You get to choose between the three goddesses, with rewards as follows:
- Athena: Gets you the most spins at 16. During the round Mystery symbols MAY become golden versions with random multipliers of x2, x3, or x5.
- Hera: Get you 12 free spins. In this case, high-paying symbols - the goddesses - that are revealed from Mystery symbols can turn into golden versions with a FIXED multiplier of x5.
- Aphrodite: Gets you 6 free spins with Mystery symbols appearing on EVERY spin. Also, high-paying symbols from Mystery symbols have the chance to become golden versions with random multipliers of x2, x3, or x5.
That's an interesting selection choice! The Aphrodite option is clearly more powerful, but with much fewer spins. Which you go for will depend on your attitude to risk.
And finally there is one more enhancement... Tri-symbols in the free spins rounds ALWAYS award 1x to 5x the bet plus an additional free spin.
NOTE: the maximum number of free spins that you can enjoy in one round is 75.
Final Verdict
Divine Divas is a clever slot that is fun to play. New features are a rarity in modern slots so the tri symbol which has cleverly been interwoven with the theme and the three goddesses is a treat to savour. The game promises regularly payouts but only small ones and it will require a lot of patience to unlock a big moment, but when they drop, wins driven by runs of extended cascading wins, multipliers and groups of tri symbols, could be a real thrill.
Testing Notes
Test spins and results analysis by Mark Wadie.
Results from 100 spins Divine Divas on Play n Go’s test servers before release.
- Stake Size: 1
- Start balance: 25,000
- End balance: 24,961
- Hit Rate: 49% (49 winning spins in 100)
- Biggest Win: 17.2x
- Free Spins Round: 1
With the caveat that this version of the game was on test before release so the engine may be tweaked before it goes live, Divine Divas had one of the highest win rates I’ve seen in a long time. Over a short 100 spin session it produced 49 payout spins. So it didn’t feel much like a high variance slot. But on the other hand, most of those wins were very small in size so the balance still dropped pretty fast. Most of the action is standard cascades with 2 or 3 consecutive drops and wins of just 0.3x or 0.4x.
Whilst wins were regular, features were very irregular. Mystery Symbols appeared just once, with 5 landing on one spin. And the Tri Symbols appeared twice. But the best moment by far was the free spins round. I chose the Hera version with 12 spins and 5x multipliers. There were 2 Tri Symbols in play at one point that added 2 extra spins and a 3x win so the round was further extended.
Overall this was a really good slot to play with plenty of action and a clever feature in the Tri symbols, though it would have been more fun if it had turned up more frequently.
