Mystical Vibes In This Fortune-Telling Slot With Tarots and Dice
Orb of Destiny takes us into the gypsy caravan of a mystical fortune telling lady. If you enjoy your tarot cards, astrology dice and crystal balls you’ll enjoy the vibe here. A curtain draws back to reveal a table scattered with these instruments of the art, along with candles and spell books. There is also a gentle soundtrack to accompany your spins. Hacksaw pull off this kind of mystic theme well – they’ve done it before with Time Spinners – and fans of the studio should enjoy the atmosphere here.
RTP and Variance
Orb of Destiny has four RTP rates. This is standard for Hacksaw Gaming who build all their slots with more than one RTP rate and leave it to the operator to decide which one to choose. The rates are 96.23%, 94.29%, 92.27% and 88.26%. You want to be playing at the highest RTP rate if possible. This is a medium variance slot. So whilst Hacksaw have built a reputation for producing highly volatile games like Hand of Anubis and Itero, Orb of Destiny is a little less volatile experience with a more even win distribution, more in line with games like Break Bones and RIP City from the same provider.
Maximum Win
Despite that medium variance, Orb of Destiny still comes in with an impressive top win of 10,000x which is really good. You won’t find too many Hacksaw slots with greater potential, apart from 2 Wild 2 Die (15,000x) and a few other super volatile games at 12,500x like Stormforged.
Symbols and Paytable
Orb of Destiny plays on 6 reels with 4 rows on each and 14 paylines on each spin. Wins are triggered by landing 3 or more identical symbols on a line from left to right starting at the left most reel.
There are 10 symbols to win with. The low value ones are the dice, in blue, green, purple, red and yellow. These are valued at from 0.1x for 3 blues up to 10x for 6 yellows. The premiums are the Tarot Cards, valued at from 1x for 3 on a line up to 25x for 6 on a line.
There is also an expanding Wild, represented by Lady Fortune. More on her role in the next section. She also pays out 25x when 6 appear on a line.
Features and Gameplay
Lady Fortune Expanding Wild Multipliers and the Orb of Destiny
Central to the gameplay here is the Lady Fortune symbol. She is a Wild that can land on any reel, always displaying at full reel height when she does. Every time she lands she will display AT LEAST one multiplier, but there may randomly be up to THREE, or even as many as FIVE if the Orb of Destiny lands too. More on that in a moment.
The multiplier values on the Lady Fortune can be 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x or 100x. They are applied to any win that passes through a Lady Fortune. And where more than one multiplier is involved, then they are ADDED together before being applied to the win.
Once the win is paid, then ALL multipliers at the base of the Lady Fortune symbols are removed, regardless of whether they were part of a win. And if any Lady Fortune symbols still display a multiplier, then a re-spin triggers where those Lady Fortune symbols stay on the reels.
This process will repeat until no more Lady Fortune symbols are visible on the grid.
During re-spins the Orb of Destiny can help you out. When it drops it shows a number between 1 and 3. The same number of multipliers will be added to ALL Lady Fortune symbols visible at that time.
Two Free Spins Rounds
Like most Hacksaw slots, Orb of Destiny has TWO free spins rounds. Each is triggered by landing FS scatters. They work like this.

You need to land FOUR FS scatters to get you 10 Future Fortunes Free Spins. Here, every Lady Fortune symbols displays AT LEAST THREE multipliers when it drops.
And again, by landing two more FS scatters on a spin you get 2 more spins. Or by landing three more FS scatters on a spin you get 4 more spins.
Final Verdict
I liked the mystical vibes in Orb of Destiny, and on paper at least the gameplay looks interesting, particularly if a spin drops with 2, 3 or even more multipliers across several Lady Fortune wilds. In reality however, on my session the game didn’t deliver enough (in fact, ANY) of those moments which is disappointing for a medium variance game that you expect to be more forgiving. Nonetheless, I’d still recommend giving it a spin. After all, it may have just been an unlucky day for me, and there is certainly lots of potential for big moments here if the dice and cards land your way.
Testing Notes
I played 200 spins on Big Bass Floats My Boat on Pragmatic Play’s test server prior to release to test the game. This is what happened.

First, I should say over 250 spins this slot gave the impression that the volatility was more medium-high than medium. Certainly not as volatile as other Hacksaw slots, but more volatile than the billing suggests. The hit rate was under 20%, so only 45 spins yielded a win, which is a little under what I was expecting. And the balance depleted fast from 5,000 down to 4861.80.
The main event is the Lady Fortune wild and she showed up on 48 spins – that’s just over 19% of the time, producing wins on well over half those occasions. The biggest win of all was an 18x, helped by a 4x wild multiplier on the Lady Fortune symbol.
The biggest disappointment was that the Lady Fortune only ONCE showed more than one multiplier, and I NEVER saw the Orb of Destiny. Nor did I trigger the free spins!
So, overall this game left me a big non-plussed. I was expecting regular Orbs and at least one shot at the free spins. Maybe it was an unlucky session, but it feels like this slot will be tighter than Hacksaw led us to believe.
