I played 200 spins on Blinged for real money at Duelz Casino to test the game and this is what happened.

With such simple gameplay, what you want to know is, how often did the one feature available actually trigger? Well, in 200 spins the Win Spin (2 scatters) triggered 9 times. That is 4.5%. And the free spins (3 scatters) triggered just once. That is not unusual, we don’t expect a free spins round to trigger more than 1 or 2 times in 200 spins, though on occasion it will, and sometimes never. The Win Spin, whilst interesting, didn’t produce great results, with a top payout of 7x on one occasion, but mainly 2.5x or less. In fact, wins were generally very small, often less than my stake value, which is also not untypical for a mid-variance game which can kick out lots of small wins, but very few big ones.

The best win came in the free spins round – 39.2x – where the progressive multiplier grew to 7x. Whilst this is not huge, watching this round in action you can see how with enough re-spins building up that multiplier and a lucky spin you could trigger a massive payout. Just not during my testing!

A Sparkling Hip Hop Adventure in NYC

Blinged is packed with sparkle and attitude. It is the third in a series of hip-hop inspired slot games including Pimped and That’s Rich. This one features a female crew, apparently from downtown New York judging by the Manhattan skyline in the background. Towered over by looming skyscrapers, the action takes place on a glimmering reel set with a backdrop of a commercial street with shops and offices all lit up and enticing you in.

If you are into your diamond-encrusted icons, wads of cash and sassy girls in crews then this is the game for you. Curiously, the soundtrack is a kind of generic string track and I can’t help feeling Play n Go missed a trick to provide a punchy hip-hop number. Maybe the budget didn’t stretch that far.

Blinged is a simple 5-reel slot with 3 rows and 10 paylines. Wins are triggered by landing 3 or more identical symbols on a line from left to right. There is really good value in the paytable, particularly at the top end.

Low payers are the cards, 10 through to Ace. These are valued at from 0.3x for 3 10s up to 15x for 5 Aces. The premiums are the cash, trainers, ring, the group of girls and the gang leader. These are valued at from 0.5x for 3 cash symbols up to 75x for 5 of the gang leaders.

If you land another scatter diamond during the Win Spins, you’ll re-trigger the feature re-spinning the reels up to 20 times.

And There is More … Progressive Multipliers

The Final Verdict

Blinged is an eye-catching slot with a simple mechanic driving the gameplay. Whilst Wilds are important to sub in for others and trigger wins, as well as having their own payout value, the key to success here is the Win Spins feature. At best it can deliver a relentless surge of payouts where your multiplier keeps progressing and new wins are triggered on every re-spin. Of course,  if you don’t hit any more scatters on your Win Spin then the round ends, but your aim should be to land more scatters and keep the game progressing. One thing I noticed in our 200 test spins is that the vast majority of wins were very low value due to the medium variance. So, even though there is enticing value at the top of the paytable, be warned that you are more likely to see lots of 1x and 2x wins rather than anything more beefy. But if you want balanced play rather than more choppy payouts, and you like the music and bling theme then this Play n Go game could be a good option for you.
