Theme and Design
Two Tone Cartoon Graphics and Fun Devil Characters Make This An Entertaining Play
Approaching this Hacksaw slot I was expecting something much darker. After all, they have a reputation for going full horror mode in their high risk games like Bloodthirst and Rotten. But they do also have a lighter side, and that is what you get here. The inspiration, much like in RIP City from the same provider, is retro cartoon, with two comedy devils – Balthazar and Beelzebub – one either side of the reels, bouncing around with their pitchforks, gnashing some big teeth and flapping their fallen angel wings.

There is a two-tone color scheme broken up with flashes of cyan blue and red which is most definitely Hacksaw too. Overall, the vibe is fun and nothing like as ominous as you might expect. It looks great, and showcases this provider’s ample creative powers.
RTP and Variance
Like most Hacksaw slots, SixSixSix has four RTP rates, leaving it to the casino operator to decide which to run the game at. The rates are 96.15%, 94.19%, 92.17% and 88.27%. The highest rate of 96.15% is good but try to avoid the lower rates. Most slot sites will choose 94.19% but we have found in our research that MrQ from Lindar Media consistently runs Hacksaw games at the optimum RTP rates. So I recommend playing there.
This is very much a high volatility slot too, falling into the same category as other games from this provider like Itero and Hand of Anubis. These guys know how to build great high risk games so be ready for it!
Maximum Win
In keeping with the game’s theme, the top payout is a whopping 16,666x. That makes it one of Hacksaw’s highest max win games, alongside 2 Wild 2 Die and Twisted Lab (both 15,000x). They are yet to push on to the kind of numbers you see in NLC or Relax Gaming slots, but surely it won’t be long before we see a Hacksaw slot with a 25,000x or 50,000x potential.
Symbols and Paytable
This is a 5-reel game with 4 rows on each and 12 paylines to win on. Payouts are triggered by landing 3 or more identical symbols on a line from left to right, starting at the left most reel.

You have 10 pay symbols to complete lines with, and some good value at the top end. The low value symbols are the bones, axe, cigarettes, cup and bible, worth from 0.2x for 3 of any, up to 3x for 5 of any. Premiums are the bottle, ghost, wolf, dog and hand, worth from 1x for 3 bottles up to 50x for 5 hands.
There are NO wilds in this slot.
Features and Gameplay
The base game in SixSixSix is all about triggering Wicked Wheels which spin to award prizes or give you access to one of 3 free spins rounds.
Blue or Red Wicked Wheels
Wicked Wheels are prize wheels that are triggered by landing a blue or red 6 on one of reels 1, 3 or 5. Only one 6 can land on one reel and in the base game, only blue reels are active.
When you activate a Wicked Wheel then it appears where the triggering 6 landed. It spins to reveal a prize that is instantly awarded. Most of the time these Wheels will drop a small payout, but there is some big potential there too:
Blue Wheel: Adding Multipliers - 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x; Multiplying Multipliers – 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x; Free Spins; 6 symbol.
Red Wheel: Adding Multipliers – 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x; Multiplying Multipliers – 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x.

Free Spins Rounds
If a ‘6’ lands on a Wicked Wheel then you can enter one of 3 free spins rounds where the gameplay is amped up further.
Speak of the Devil Free Spins
Firstly, there is the Speak of the Devil free spins round. This requires just ONE ‘6’ to land on a Wicked Wheel in the base game. You get 10 free plays where there are increased odds of triggering red and blue Wicked Wheels.
In this phase, you won’t see any 6s on a blue Wicked Wheel.
Let Hell Break Loose Free Spins
Better than the Speak of the Devil feature is Let Hell Break Loose.
It’s harder to trigger because you need a 6 to appear on TWO Wicked Wheels at the same time in the base game. But now, you get 10 free spins where ONLY the more valuable Red Wicked Wheels are available.
What The Hell Free Spins
And the ultimate free spins experience is What The Hell. You’ll need to land three 6’s on separate Wicked Wheels to trigger this. You have 10 free spin where a Red Wicked Wheel is GUARANTEED to land on every spin. And once again, ONLY Red Wicked Wheels may appear in this feature.

Do a Deal With The Devil
And finally, Hacksaw have added a clever feature into SixSixSix which appears when either Speak of the Devil or Let Hell Break Loose triggers.
You can do a Deal With The Devil and spin another wheel to see if you can get more spins OR even upgrade to the next free spins level – Let Hell Break Loose of What The Hell.
The Deal Wheel offers 5, 8, 12, 16 or 20 free spins and a number 6. The 6 takes you up a level whilst the free spins values re-set your free spins total. So keep in mind that you may drop down from the 10 spins awarded when the round started. But hey, you’re dealing with the devil here, so it’s never going to be straight forward!
As ever, think carefully before making that gamble. If you get lucky you can do 2 deals in quick succession and go from Speak of the Devil up to What The Hell. Or, you can lose 5 free spins!
Final Verdict
Only Hacksaw Gaming could have built this slot. It looks and plays exactly how you would expect a Hacksaw slot to play. The good part is, those prize wheels have some big payouts on them, and the game is clearly configured to go off once in a while if you can make it into that top free spins round. However, as always this is offset by the wicked volatility that will more than likely will be your undoing before you get there! So, be ready and go in with your eyes open.
Testing Notes
Test spins and results analysis by Mark Wadie on 02.07.24
Results from 400 spins on SixSixSix on Hacksaw Gaming's test servers.
- Stake Size: 1
- Start balance: 5,000
- End balance: 5,043
- Hit Rate: 16.75% (67 winning spins in 400)
- Biggest Win: 250x
- Free Spins Round: 1
This session started with a run of wins including two 20x payouts from the blue Wicked Wheel, then I hit a losing streak that seemed to last 20 spins or more. That ended up being the pattern throughout, which is typical for high volatility slots. The win rate over 400 spins was 16.75% which is just under the 17% I have seen advertised on other slot review sites, so it’s what you should expect. That’s quite low. In short, it can feel like a bit of a grind at times.

However, the flipside to that is the wins were often good when they did drop. For example, I scored a 45x from combining multipliers and 6 or 7 10x payouts form the Wicked Wheels which appeared 12 times (3% of spins). They are the only feature though, so it can start to feel a bit monotonous. Eventually I cracked the free spins round after 179 spins. That was the only time. I didn’t gamble so just went in with 10 spins which produced just ONE win. But it was a good one – a 250x from a blue Wicked Wheel.

I should add that I NEVER saw a red Wicked Wheel in 400 spins, so they aren't going to show up much!
There is clearly much more to get from SixSixSix but it won’t be easy. From this session the take away is, you need a good balance and a lot of patience. But the fun style will keep you entertained along the way.
