How We Review Slot GamesWe test and rate all slot games across 5 criteria, assigning a score out of 10 for each and an overall score that is an average of the 5. To build an accurate assessment of each game we gather information from the supplier and play in real play or demo mode. Find out more.
Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania is a classic slot game brand created by US industry giant’s, IGT. It moved from the casino floor to new UK slot sites back in 2015 and has become a popular choice for gamblers ever since. So it’s no surprise that the Slingo Originals team chose it as a suitable partnership for another co-branded game back in summer 2021. In that respect it follows in the footsteps of Slingo Starburst, Slingo Rainbow Riches and the TV-gameshow titles like Slingo Deal of No Deal.
Against the same backdrop of a cartoon seaside scene and with our chirpy, bright red and snappy lobster friend at the forefront, this Slingo version of Lobstermania doesn’t look too different to the original. And like the Starburst Slingo game, this version unleashes a replica slot for those lucky enough to score the requisite number of Slingos from their 10 spins and comes with a handy bunch of features to help you on your way.
You can start playing right now at our recommended Slingo Sites. But before you head off, check out this review to find out how the game works, what prizes are on offer, and what strategies you can use to maximise your win potential.

RTP and Variance
Our Score 8
What is RTP?RTP (Return to Player) refers to the amount a game will pay out in cash prizes expressed as a percentage of all the money wagered on that game. For example, a 96% RTP means a game will pay out £96 for every £100 wagered. This is an average number and will vary from one session to the next. Read more here.
What is Variance?Variance refers to how far a game will deviate from its RTP over time. High variance games deviate a lot and produce uneven win distributions and unexpected windfalls. Low variance games provide a more stable and even distribution of wins. Read more here.
Starting with the maths model and Slingo Lobstermania is a high variance game, just like the original video slot. It’s rated a 4/5 by the Slingo Originals team which means it will be a tough one to crack and likely throw up some frustrating sessions before any big wins are returned. The RTP is advertised as a straight 96%, the same as most standard Slingo games, and the top win is a reasonable 1,000x.
Symbols and Paytable
Our Score 8
When the game begins you will be instantly credited with 10 spins to reveal numbers to match with the game grid. If you are lucky enough to reach a Full House with those spins you can go straight into the bonus game. If not, then there is an option to buy more spins and try to make it further up the pay ladder. Along the way are some extra symbols to help you. This is how they work:
- Joker – like a Wild this symbol will sub for any other on a Slingo line. So, if one lands you can cross off a number in the horizontal line directly above.
- Super Joker – like the Super Wilds in other Slingo games, this one will allow you to cross off any number ANYWHERE on the 5×5 grid.
- Free Spins – if a free spin icon lands on the 1×5 reel beneath the grid then an extra spin is added to your total.
- Devil – Devils, or Blockers as they are sometimes called, are common in Slingo games. They are not what you want to see on the reel! These symbols will block Slingos from being formed on the lines above the position they land in.
Once you start completing lines then you will climb the Slingo Prize Ladder to the left of the screen. The higher you climb, the better the prizes on offer. Keep reading to find out how the bonus rounds work.
Features and Gameplay
Our Score 8
Slingo Lobstermania is all about unleashing the slot game by scoring 5 or more Slingos from the base game. Here is how you do it.
Like all Slingo games the screen here is dominated by a 5×5 grid, much like a 75 ball bingo card. Players start with 10 spins of a 1×5 reel that is positioned beneath the grid. After each spin 5 numbers will be revealed. Where they match those on the grid, then the numbers on the grid are crossed off. When 5 numbers in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line are all crossed off, that is a Slingo.
Along the way, Jokers, Super Jokers and Free Spins are helping you to complete Slingos, whilst Devils are trying to block you.
Spin Gamble for More Slingos
One of the best features of Slingo games is the spin gamble. This feature means that when your 10 spins are up, if you haven’t already hit 11 Slingos – a Full House – then the gig is not up. You can purchase more spins to keep trying. Just keep in mind that as the odds of getting more Slingos have narrowed, so the price of your spins has gone up. So evaluate the situation carefully before you choose to buy more plays.
There are THREE fixed jackpots available during the Slingo base game. They are Light Trap (50x), Full Trap (150x) and Motherlode (1,000x) and you can see them at the top of the screen above the grid. They are triggered by ‘Jackpot Overlays’ that will drop on the spin of the reel. Three gets the Light Trap, four gets the Full Trap and five gets the Motherlode.
Buoy Bonus Game and Free Spins
There are two bonus games associated with each point on the prize ladder. Remember, you need a minimum of five Slingos to unlock these bonus games. Anything less and you are going home empty-handed.
Here are the rewards for each level on the prize ladder:
- 5 Slingos – Buoy Bonus Game with 1 or 2 prize picks.
- 6 Slingos – 5 free spins.
- 7 Slingos – Buoy Bonus Game with 3, 4 or 5 prize picks.
- 8 Slingos – 10 free spins.
- 9 Slingos – Buoy Bonus Game with 3, 4 or 5 prize picks. All wins are subject to a 2x multiplier.
- 10 Slingos – 10 free spins with a 2x multiplier in play
- 12 Slingos (Full House) – A choice of the Buoy Bonus game with 5, 6 or 7 picks, plus a 6x multiplier, or 20 free spins on Lobstermania with a 3x multiplier in play.
The Free Spins are played out on the Lobstermania slot.
The slot is the same as the original game. That means there are 1,024 active paylines in play at all times and it is also possible to earn 5 more free spins at any time by landing 3 or more scatters on one of your spins. The total number of free spins available is maxed out at 240.
The Buoy Bonus Game can take place in any one of three locations – Maine, Brazil or Australia. Once you’ve chosen the location the game starts and your picks can begin. Each one will reveal either a cash prize to add to your total for the game, or a Golden Lobster. The latter triggers a new round of the Buoy Bonus that works differently for each location:
- In Maine you get a Pelican Bonus with three new possible picks. Once your prize is revealed you can pick again if you want to gamble for something bigger.
- In Australia you get a Kangaroo Bonus (of course). Now you can keep picking and adding more cash prizes to your total. Once a Golden Lobster is revealed the round ends.
- In Brazil it’s an Octopus Bonus. Each pick now reveals a multiplier or a Golden Lobster with a cash prize value to which your multiplier total is applied before the round ends.
The Final Verdict
We are massive fans of the Slingo co-branded games here at AllSlotSites.com and this is one of the best. Far from being a simple Slingo game with a slot tacked onto the end of it, Slingo Lobstermania manages to create a multi-faceted bonus round with the chance to score some really decent prizes, particularly at the top end of the pay table where the 20 free spins on Lobstermania slot with a guaranteed 3x multiplier, or the 7 picks on the Buoy Bonus with a guaranteed 6x multiplier, are really enticing.
And don’t forget those superb fixed jackpots that can drop at any time in the Slingo base game too. They may be a rare event, but a 1,000x random prize drop is not to be sniffed at in any slot or Slingo game!
In summary, a great game for both Singo enthusiasts and fans of the original Lobstermania slot to enjoy.
Good luck with your spinning and have fun!
