Beats of Fire Maximum is going to be a game that requires patience if you want to unlock one of those super-charged big win moments that come in the free spins round. I gave it 100 spins and I wasn’t able to unlock it. To be fair 100 is not a huge number in a volatile slot. Some take 300 or 400 plays to trigger the bonus feature.

Nevertheless, I got a feel for how the base game is and the win rate wasn’t bad at 21%. I saw scatters drop on 13 spins (13%). That triggers a reel expansion. On most occasions that resulted in just a small win or no win. And on 3 occasions a second scatter dropped to expand the reels further. You need 3 in a row to trigger the full expansion and free spins but sadly I didn’t get that far.

The biggest win was a 24x which shows even the base game can kick out the odd decent payout. But as expected, this was a tight game and you need to be prepared to burn some coins on the road to success.
