I played 250 spins on Big Sugar Bonanza on Stakelogic’s test server prior to release to test the game. This is what happened.

The win rate was reasonable at 23.2% and the Mystery Multipliers were frequent – 61 times they appeared – but this game still felt too slow for my liking. The problem with the Mystery Multipliers was that on the majority of occasions they were just 1x and only covered 1 space on the grid. Usually they failed to activate too because no clusters formed over them. I did see a 3×3 at one time, but like the others it produced nothing. Eventually  I did land a nice 70.75x win from a normal cluster / cascade event late on in the session which you can see in the screenshot. But the free spins round was nowhere in site.

In short, this one has all the hallmarks of a high variance slot. It was a grind for me with lots of dead spins as the balance was ground down. But on another day, things could go very differently of course. Keep that in mind when you load up and choose your stake.

Stakelogic Lay It On Thick With Candy Galore

It feels like Stakelogic are trying to out-do their rivals in the cutesy-sweet stakes in this game. It takes place in a land where ‘fluffy monsters rule the sugary kingdom’, led by ‘Gumdrop Giggles, the mischievous leader of the Fluffkins’. You can read it all on the Game Rules page! We are in a dreamworld here with marshmallow colors, candyfloss and icing everywhere, and that Fluffkins character to the right of the grid, a giant sugar-eating grin on his face. In short, Stakelogic know their market for this one and they’ve nailed it for sure!

Big Sugar Bonanza is a relatively simple slot with just Cascades, Mystery Multipliers and Free Spins. Here is how they work:

Cascades

After any winning spins, winning symbols are removed from the grid. Remaining ones and new ones drop down to fill the spaces left behind. If this creates more wins then the process repeats … and again … and so on until no more wins are triggered.

Mystery Multipliers

Mystery Multipliers have values of 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x, 62x 128x, 256x or 512x. They appear at random after a spin and take up one of more positions BENEATH symbols on the grid. So they can be just a 1×1, or as much as 7×7, in which case they take up the entire grid.

Any winning cluster that covers a multiplier will have that multiplier value applied to it before the payout is made. But the interesting part is, each time this happens, the multiplier DOUBLES in value.

So, over the course of a cascade sequence they can grow pretty big.

Free Spins With Roaming Mystery Multipliers

Look out for the BONUS symbol which triggers the free spins round. You’ll need 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 to land to trigger 10, 12, 15, 20 or 30 free spins.
