How We Review Slot Games

We test and rate all slot games across 5 criteria, assigning a score out of 10 for each and an overall score that is an average of the 5. To build an accurate assessment of each game we gather information from the supplier and play in real play or demo mode. Find out more.

Tombstone No Mercy is the third in Nolimit City’s wild west series of games. This version is closer to the original than the RIP sequel. The features are sparse, with just xNudge Outlaw Wilds with multipliers to look out for in the base game. Gunslinger free spins give you unlimited progressive multipliers from the Outlaw Wilds, whilst the Bounty Spins goes one step further by making those Outlaw Wilds sticky. In both features you can keep extending the round by landing more scatters. Top win is 16,480x and spins start at 20p.

What Our Reviewer Says ...

"Fans of brutal hangings and bloodshed might be disappointed, but NLC's latest Tombstone game will still more than hold its own in the genre of wild west games with sticky wild multiplier action!"

Overall Score: 7.4

Theme & Design

Our Score 7

Closer In Style To The Original Tombstone Than To RIP

In terms of design style, Tombstone No Mercy looks more like the original Tombstone game than the infamous RIP followup. The same simple, bleached wood frameset and classic wild west font are present, as are the character symbols. If you were expecting hangings and the rest, you’ll be disappointed. But still, the production style remains uniquely NLC and it’s a game whose visuals and sounds will get the blood pumping the moment you load it up.

RTP and Variance

Our Score 8

What is RTP?

RTP (Return to Player) refers to the amount a game will pay out in cash prizes expressed as a percentage of all the money wagered on that game. For example, a 96% RTP means a game will pay out £96 for every £100 wagered. This is an average number and will vary from one session to the next.  Read more here.

What is Variance?

Variance refers to how far a game will deviate from its RTP over time. High variance games deviate a lot and produce uneven win distributions and unexpected windfalls. Low variance games provide a more stable and even distribution of wins. Read more here.

Tombstone No Mercy, like all other Nolimit City slots, these days has more than one RTP setting. They are 96.05%, 94.03%, 92.01% and 87.04%. With a slot like this you definitely want to find a slot site where the RTP is set to the optimum level. My recommendation would be to play at MrQ from Lindar Media who consistently run games at the maximum RTP.

Wherever you choose to play your NLC slots you can check the RTP rate by hitting the hamburger button in the bottom left of the screen, then scrolling through the game info until you see Game Rules. Theoretical Return to Player is published there.

It goes without saying that the volatility settings in No Mercy are high. In fact, they are set to Extreme, which is one down from the Insane level found in Tombstone RIP.

Maximum Win

Our Score 7

What Is Maximum Win?

Maximum win refers to the maximum amount a player can win from one spin. It is expressed as a multiple of the stake. For example, where the maximum win is 100,000x, from a £1 stake, the maximum win would be £100,000.

The maximum win in Tombstone No Mercy is 16,480x. The name of this event follows that of the slot’s title – No Mercy. Any win above this amount will be rounded down and the game round ends there.

That is of course, much, much lower than the record-breaking 300,000x potential we see in Tombstone RIP and will no doubt be the cause of some consternation amongst NLC fans. It seems odd to drop the top payout by such a long way, but perhaps the studio is keen to retain the distinct appeal of RIP seperate to others in the series.

Symbols and Paytable

Our Score 7

This is a 5-reel slot with a 2-3-3-3-2 row configuration. More details on the paytable will appear here once the game is live.

Features and Gameplay

Our Score 8

Here is a preview of the main features in Tombstone No Mercy.

Outlaw Wilds (xNudge)

On the middle 3 reels (2, 3 and 4), 3 row high wilds can appear. When they are only partly visible then they will nudge down until they are fully visible, increasing a win multiplier by 1x with each nudge as they do. This is the classic xNudge feature trademarked by Nolimit City.

Justice Spins With Sticky Wilds

To trigger three Justice Spins you’ll need to land a Sheriff’s Badge on reel 1 and a Marshall Badge on Reel 5.

During Justice Spins, Outlaw Wilds stick on the reels to increase your chances of completing paylines.

Two Free Spins Rounds With Unlimited Win Multipliers

This is the one you’ll be waiting for. There are two free spins levels. Here is how they work:

Gunslinger Spins

You’ll need to land THREE scatters, represented by the dollar signs, to trigger this bonus. Here, the win multiplier that comes with the Outlaw Wilds does NOT re-set during the feature. It just keeps growing each time a Wild lands and nudges up or down.

You can also extend the round by landing 1 scatter to get 1 extra spin or 2 scatters to get 3 extra spins.

Bounty Spins

Bounty Spins is the holy grail of Tombstone No Mercy. It’s not easy to trigger. You’ll need to land a Sheriff’s Badge, 3 scatters AND a Marshall’s Badge, all at once.

Now you get 12 spins where the Gunslinger Spins and the Outlaw Wild spins features are combined. So, Outlaw Wilds are STICKY and the win multiplier does NOT re-set at any point. It just keeps growing with every nudge.

Again, you can extend the round by landing 1 scatter to give you 1 more spin, or 2 scatters to give you 3 more spins.

xBet GUARANTEES Scatters or Outlaw Wilds

Finally, you can improve your odds with the xBet feature. Then you are guaranteed to land a scatter or an Outlaw Wild on each spin. You are also twice as likely to trigger the free spins.
