Review Summary

Play OJO is one of the highest-rated slot sites in our list with a 4.6/5 scorecard, scoring very well across the board except in the area of customer support where slow response times bring the numbers down.

OJO runs on the popular Skill on Net platform but it is far from being just another white label casino, instead offering many unique features. These include it’s no wagering free spins policy, where free spins winnings are ALWAYS paid in cash, and a high-quality gaming app which is worth downloading if you plan on being a regular player here. The game selection is amongst the best you will find at any casino with well over 7,000 to choose from across slots, live dealer, classic table games and instant wins.

Play OJO is widely regarded in the industry too, and the site has received many awards over the years including Mobile Casino Operator of the Year (eGaming Review, 2023), Casino Operator of the Year (eGaming Review, 2024) and Slots Operator of the Year (eGaming Review, 2024).

Whilst it performs very well in most areas, on gambling forums there is significant amounts of negative feedback regarding slow response times to customer support enquiries and delays in processing account verification documents. I discuss this in more detail later in this review. First, here are the key strengths and weaknesses of this site based on our research and analysis.

Strengths

  • A Safe, Trusted and Licensed Brand – the operator, Skill on Net, is licensed in the UK which ensures security and fairness with regular independent game audits, as well as safe play thanks to a good suite of Responsible Gambling tools.
  • Massive Game List – with over 7,000 games across all categories there are few slot sites out there that can match OJO for quantity. The list is also very easy to explore in depth using the search and filter menu system.
  • No Wagering Free Spins Policy – every single free spins offer at OJO – and there are a lot – pays out winnings in cash with no wagering requirements. OJO made this their policy from day one.
  • Excellent Mobile App – the quality of the experience on the OJO app helped the operator to secure a Mobile Operator of the Year award from eGaming Review in 2024. It's very fast to download from the App Store or Google Play and gives you access to all the same games and features as the website.
  • Loyalty Rewards In Cash – the OJO loyalty program is also very generous and simple to follow. Every time you play you earn money back which appears as your ‘OJO Plus’ balance when you are logged in. It’s all redeemable to your real money balance at any time.
  • Slots Leaderboard - OJO also run regular slots tournaments with live leaderboards where positions are based on points earned from wagering during the tournament period. There are both free and buy-in based races to take part in.

Weaknesses

  • No Phone Support - the OJO experience could be greatly improved by having a phone line for the support service.
  • Slow Customer Support Response Times – OJO gets a lot of criticism for its support service. Live chat and email response times are very slow, sometimes hours, and there is no phone support.
  • Slow Account Verification – there are also many negative comments on Trust Pilot and Ask Gamblers about slow customer verification.

The terms of this deal are excellent, like all deals at OJO. There are NO wagering requirements associated with winnings from your free spins.

Is This A Good Deal?

You can’t argue with this slots welcome offer. Almost everywhere else you go Big Bass Bonanza free spins come with winnings paid in bonus money and wagering requirements attached. This offer is exactly what it says and for just £10 it’s one of the best deals on the market right now if you enjoy top quality games like this one.

If you enjoy this kind of free spins deal and you are looking for a £10 deposit bonus you might also like to visit Betfred where you get 100 ‘keep what you win’ free spins on Blueprint Gaming slots for a tenner.

The only drawback of course is that you don’t get a match bonus as part of the deal. If you want this too then you could try Voodoo Dreams or NY Spins where you get 100% up to £50 as well as Book of Dead spins.

Promotions and Loyalty Program

OJO prides itself on its rewards program and being a site that treats its customers well. I'm hugely impressed with what's on offer here. There are tons of goodies to claim and a fair and consistent policy of no wagering requirements makes this an extremely popular destination for many of our readers.

This is a summary of the rewards program and events.

  • OJO Levels - OJO Levels is the rewards program. There are 125 levels and your current level is displayed at the top of the screen with a progress bar showing you how far you have to go to reach the next one. The more you play, the further you progress, unlocking free spins, bonuses, and prize wheel spins along the way.

This is one of the better loyalty programs I’ve seen. It’s easy to follow because of the progress bar and the rewards are generous.
  • OJO Wheel - A spin on the OJO Prize Wheel is credited to players who reach a new level on the OJO Levels program. You can also randomly be awarded a spin in your account any day. You win free spins on selected games via the wheel.
  • Prize Twister - Players are randomly awarded a play on the Prize Twister at any time. It a basic slot with lots of prizes like Free Spins, Bingo Tickets, Scratchcards and cash prizes of up to £25,000.
  • OJOplus - OJOplus is a simple loyalty bonus by which you are awarded real cash every time you play. The funds are credited to an OJOplus balance which is displayed above the real money balance at the top of the screen whenever you are logged in. To claim the cash you just hit the big yellow ‘Collect’ button.

I really like this because it keeps things simple – you don’t have to worry about conversion rates of loyalty points to bonus credits like at other casinos. Instead, you just cash in your money when you’re ready.
  • Kickers - Daily rewards available to all players are called Kickers. You can access them by hitting the Kickers link at the top of the screen which pops up a window with a list of deals. They are a mix of bonuses, prize draws and free spins.
  • Reel Spin Offs - These are classic slots tournaments with free spins and cash as prizes. The more wins you rack up in the time period of the tournament, the more points you earn. Players with the most points top the boards. There are both freeroll tournaments and buy-in ones, with a fee of £1 to take part. Those have bigger prize pools, as high as £500, with fewer players taking part due to the fee.
  • A Lister VIP Program - Play OJO also has an innovative VIP program for existing players. Rather than having to rise through pre-determined levels, players can become an “A-Lister”, which gives you a dedicated VIP manager, higher withdrawal limits, increased betting limitsexclusive offers, gifts and more.

There’s no advertised way to become an A-Lister through set deposit or wagering levels – instead, the casino staff monitor everyone’s play and invite selected customers to climb aboard when they feel they have earned it.

Software and Games

10/10

It’s no exaggeration to say that the OJO game list is one of the biggest at any UK casino. There are over 7,000 games including slots, jackpots, live dealer, table games, Slingos and other instant wins. There is even multiplayer bingo.

You can browse through all these categories via the main game menu once you are logged in or use a powerful search and filter feature to explore in more depth.

Below is a summary of the game types available to players at OJO.

Catalogue and Game Providers

There are more than 70 game providers contributing to the game list at OJO, helping to make this a really exciting catalogue that should appeal to all types of gamblers. Big names like Games Global, Big Time Gaming, WMS and Nolimit City are present alongside many smaller studios you may not have even heard of like Red Rake, Peter and Sons, Merkur and Pulse 8.

Here are 10 providers from the list and a selection of their best games. I chose these because they are amongst my favourites, regularly producing games that explore new themes and gameplay but above all provide great entertainment and payout potential.

Online Slots

The OJO slots list contains over 7,000 games. That is a huge selection, almost unrivalled in the UK. There are 100s of classics including games like Jack Hammer, Sugar Rush, Gonzo’s Quest and Book of Dead.

You can also browse the latest releases in the ‘New’ section where I found slots literally just out that week. Or you can take up an OJO ‘Recommended For You’ suggestion, search Trending titles to see what slots are most popular, or take on the massive list of 290 Megaways games including classics like The Dog House Megaways, Twin Spin Megaways, Max Megaways and The Goonies Megaways.

Useful Tip When Browsing OJO Games

Every game has a useful Info panel which you can open by hitting the ‘I’ button on the top right of the logo when you scroll over. It tells you who made the slot, what the average player rating is and how many reels and rows it has. You can even rate the game out of 5 stars yourself to let the OJO community know what you think of it.

I can't get enough of the game list at OJO. All my favourites are there and with the search and filter functionality I can easily find new games based on the recommendations of other players or the OJO team themselves. Here are 10 games that stood out for me including both some new titles and a few classics too.

Jackpot Slots

The Jackpots list at Play OJO is also massive with 676 to spin on. This includes the following networks.

  • Dream Drop Jackpots (Relax Gaming)
  • Jackpot King Jackpots (Blueprint Gaming)
  • Daily or Must Drop Jackpots (Red Tiger)
  • Power Play Jackpots (Playtech)
  • Mega Jackpots (IGT)
  • Diamond Mystery Jackpots (Green Tube)

That's a mouth-watering selection although I am surprised not to see the Games Global networks in there - Mega Moolah, King Millions and WowPot - which have historically produced some of the biggest prizes. My personal favourites are the Dream Drop games from Relax Gaming. The starting seed for the Mega is £1,000,000 and it always drops by £2,000,000 so it's regularly paying out. It's also hooked up to some of Relax Gaming's best slots like Volatile Vikings and Hellcatraz so there's great gameplay too.

If you're ready to take a punt at one of these massive payouts but not sure where to start, here are five I recommend from the list to help you.

Live Dealer

The live dealer choice at OJO is also better than many other sites. The tables and gameshows are provided by Evolution Gaming, Pragmatic Play, Playtech and Stake Logic, giving you 459 selections. That is a massive range of games, all in many formats with low to high stakes. Blackjacks include classic American 21 alongside Turbo Blackjack and Power Blackjack. Roulettes include American and European, Speed Roulette and Lighting Roulette. There are also popular TV-style gameshows like Crazy Time, Mega Ball 100 and Sweet Bonanza Candyland.

The choice is huge but here I've picked out 5 of my favourites for you to try including both classics and some brilliant modern twists on the standard formats.

Live Dealer GameSupplierWhy You Should Try It
Sweet Bonanza CandylandPragmatic PlayA brilliant prize wheel gameshow themed on Pragmatic's famous slot with 9 bonus rounds including Sugar Bomb, Sweet Spins and Candy Drop
Lightning DiceEvolution GamingSimply bet on the outcome of the roll of 3 dice and watch for random lightning prize multipliers of up to 1,000x
Immersive RouletteEvolution GamingOne of the most popular versions of live roulette on the market, based on European rules and with video streams of multiple angles of the wheel
Speed BlackjackPragmatic PlayThe pressures on in this super-fast version of 7 seat blackjack with a 99.59% RTP. Players receive 3rd cards in the order of fastest to respond
Power Up RoulettePragmatic PlayAnother thrilling version of European Roulette with additional multipliers of up to 8,000x triggered by the PowerUp bonus feature

Table Games

Traditional video versions of table games are mixed in with the live dealer tables including blackjacks and roulettes. You can also use the search bar to filter by ‘card games’ and get a list of casino hold ‘em, craps and baccarat.

The selection is small but it does include some interesting formats like Play n Go’s Multi hand Blackjack, GVG’s American Twenty One High Roller Blackjack, and European Blackjack, also by GVG. The roulettes include Inspired’s 20p Roulette, GVG’s European Roulette and Edict’s French Roulette.

Instants - Arcade, Crash Games and More

To complete the catalogue, OJO also offer a sprinkling of instant games which are a less intense gambling experience. These are typically lower-stakes and more 'casual' in style. Hit the 'Instant' link in the main menu and you'll see a list of scratchcards, plinkos, Crash games and Arcade games. If you like this more slow-paced gambling then you might also want to check out the bingo section which has both multiplayer rooms and single-player games as well as over 60 different Slingo titles, a popular hybrid of bingo and slots.

Website and App Experience

10/10

‘Welcome to Play OJO Online Casino, where nothing gets in the way of fun!’ That is the message that OJO print on their home page and it sets the tone for the website and slots experience here. OJO is bright and cheerful with pinks and purples dominating the color palette. You can dive in and watch a promotional video about the site from the home page or click directly to sign up or log in and find a game of your choice within 1 click too.

Here's how the OJO homepage looks once you are logged in.

PlayOJO Home Page
PlayOJO Home Page

OJO's site is a cut above the competition in my opinion. This is not your average white label casino like you see from Aspire Global or White Hat Gaming. Instead, it’s a bona fide brand in its own right. You might have even seen it on TV. That level of investment in marketing is reflected in the quality of the experience on the website.

But it's not just about the glitz. All the important information about Play OJO including terms, bonus policy and banking info is easily accessible and clearly displayed. There is even a nice blog that tells you about upcoming promotions, recommends slots for you and explains useful gambling tips.

In short, the site is functionally strong and packed with useful information as well as looking great.

Download The OJO Mobile App

OJO is also available on a mobile app that you can download from the App Store or from Google Play. I’ve got it on my iPhone and it looks great, delivering pretty much the same experience with the full game list and all the cashier and responsible gambling functions too. It requires an iOS of 13.0 or later which means its compatible with most phones. The app has a 4.4/5 average rating from 18,000 reviews which gives you an idea of its quality.

Banking

9/10

Play OJO offers casino payments by debit cards and eWallets including Paypal. The choice of services is limited compared to other slot sites with no Skrill, Neteller or Paysafecard available. However, the minimum deposit value is low at £10 and you can withdraw any amount you want - there is no minimum. This is unique in the UK casino market.

Here is the full list of deposit and withdrawal options with fees and transaction limits.

Payout Speed

Play OJO advertises that payments are processed in under 24 hours in most cases, subject to account verification. In my experience withdrawals can take anywhere from a few minutes up to 24 hours. However, the account verification process here is known to be slow and if you are asked for documents to verify your ID when you cash-out it may take a few more days for your transaction to be processed.

Know Your Customer (KYC) Checks

Under gambling licensing laws in the UK all operators must carry out Know Your Customer (KYC) checks on players to verify their age, ID and source of funds. This is to prevent fraudulent activity and to protect against problem gambling.

The process starts when you sign up at OJO when you are required to submit personal details including your name, address and date of birth. Soft checks are carried out behind the scenes to verify your details against public databases like the electoral role. But if you go on to deposit and withdraw you may be asked to comply with more detailed checks requiring you to submit documents that verify the information you have submitted.

What Documents Will I Be Asked To Provide?

You may be asked to provide scans or photos of any of the following documents:

  • Driver License or Passport for proof of ID
  • Utility Bill or Bank Statement for proof of address
  • Bank Card as proof of ownership
  • Pay Slip or Bank Statement as proof of source of funds and affordablity

If you need to submit these documents then you will notified on email or via your account. There is an Upload Document link on the site that allows you to do so securely.

KYC checks are understandably an unpopular part of gambling at licensed betting sites in the UK. However, it is one of the features of the industry that keeps it safe and crime-free and it is worth putting up with them to know that you are playing at a site that is trustworthy.

Reports Of Slow KYC Checks At Play OJO

We have seen many reports in forums and on TrustPilot of slow account verification at Play OJO. This can delay your first withdrawal. We recommend that you provide your documents quickly and in the correct format to avoid any delays.

Customer Support

7/10

Support at OJO is provided via email – support@playojo.com – or live chat. There is no phone support option. However, there is a very detailed FAQ section to the site available via the Help link. These cover subjects like Deposits, Withdrawals, Documents, Account Information and Safer Gambling.

Contacting Support

  • Email (24/7) – support@playojo.com
  • Live Chat (24/7) – via the Help section from your account
  • Phone Support – not available
  • FAQs – available via the Help section from your account

There is a lot of useful information that is easy to find on the site which is great.  However, when we wanted to speak directly to the support team at OJO things were not so good. The live chat is basically a virtual assistant that will try to steer you towards pre-defined answers much like the FAQs. If you cannot find what you are looking for here then you will need to speak to an agent. We did this and then waited 4 hours for a response. This is clearly not an acceptable time period if you have a burning question about payment or verification.

Furthermore, checking review sites across the web we found others had similar frustrations with OJO’s support service. It seems odd that having gone to such great lengths to build a top-class product OJO wouldn’t invest more in support, but right now it is an area they fall short on.

Player Protection and Trust

9/10

The operator for Play OJO (Skill on Net) is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission (account number 39326) which means they must follow strict rules on player safety, security and fair gaming. Here are the features in place to protect you should you choose to play at OJO.

Responsible Gambling

There are a lot of tools and much information on the site to promote Responsible Gambling, going beyond what most competitors provide. If you are looking for a casino that helps you to limit and monitor your spend, OJO is a great option.

The following RG tools are all available via your account at OJO:

  • Deposit Limits – set your deposit limits by day, week or month
  • Game Status Reminder – set a reminder to tell you how long you have been playing for
  • Freeze Account – exclude yourself form making deposits or bets for 1 day, week or month
  • Self-Test – questionnaire to help identify problem gambling behaviour.
  • Safe Mate – Monitor your wins, losses, deposits and withdrawals over 7, 30, 90 or 180 days.
  • GAMSTOP – exclude yourself from all UK-licensed gambling sites

Via the Safer Gambling link in the footer of the site you can also read more about how to play responsibly and what to do if you think you have a gambling problem. This includes contact information about charities and helplines.

Game Testing

All games on the OJO site are provided by licensed game developers. They are regularly audited by approved 3rd party test houses to ensure every bet is decided by a totally random game outcome and that advertised Return to Player rates are correct.

Clear and Transparent Bonus Terms

OJO have to follow strict rules on how they configure and promote their bonuses and other offers. Wording must be clear and terms must be fair and easy to understand. OJO’s no wagering requirement policy in fact means they are fairer than most rivals.

Site Encryption

All transactions on the site are carried out over a SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connection to protect your financial and personal data.

Disputes

All UK-licensed casinos must provide a clear path for escalation of complaints. OJO have appointed eCorga as the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider who will independently assess complaints and resolve them impartially if an agreement cannot be reached between the operator and the player. The service is free and provides reassurance that you are not on your own if you need help with a dispute.

Insolvency Protection

Your balance is held by the operator in a separate client bank account to provide protection in the case of insolvency. The level of protection provided by Play OJO according to the UK Gambling Commission is ‘medium’. This means that whilst your funds are protected to give some level of assurance, it is NOT a guarantee that they would be returned to you.

Our Verdict

OJO is one of the best casinos we have reviewed. The website, loyalty rewards and game catalogue all indicate that this site is looking to offer its customers a top-class experience. In particular, the sign-up offer and the game selection stood out in testing. However, OJO did let itself down with slow customer support responses on live chat and email and it will need to improve in this area to keep all its customers happy.
