How We Review Slot Games
We test and rate all slot games across 5 criteria, assigning a score out of 10 for each and an overall score that is an average of the 5. To build an accurate assessment of each game we gather information from the supplier and play in real play or demo mode. Find out more.Immortails of Egypt is an Egyptian-themed slot from Play n Go in which mere mortal cats are transformed into god-like wilds and expanding wilds with special powers as tumbling win sequences play out across the reels. This is a high volatility slot with a Connecting Paylines system where wins form as horizontally or diagonally-touching identical symbols land.
Cumulative tumble wins in the base game can bring up some nice wins but it’s the expanding wilds and progressive multipliers in the bonus round that you’ll need to trigger if you want to get close to that 10,000x maximum payout.
Cute, fun and potentially rewarding stuff!

What Our Reviewer Says ...
"Super-fun and supernatural cat action with a pacey game engine and cool features to boost your wins!"
Overall Score: 7.6
Theme & Design
Our Score 8
Immortails of Egypt is a 3-d slot.
It takes place in a giant Egyptian temple with impressive stone pillars adorned with hieroglyphs around the reel set. All around are cats and kittens, popping their heads up to say hello or just lazing around on the stone floor.
They are cute enough with their large anime-style eyes and smiles. But the exciting part is their transformation over the course of the game. You find yourself wondering what these modern domestic animals are doing in an ancient temple. But as they shape shift into Wilds, and then Expanding Wilds, their eyes glow and they become scary supernatural monster cats with sharpened claws. At which point they look more like they belong here!
To complete the scene, the soundtrack is typically middle-eastern, snake-charmer style music that grows in intensity as more cats turn wild and you get close to the free spins round.
RTP and Variance
Our Score 7
What is RTP?
RTP (Return to Player) refers to the amount a game will pay out in cash prizes expressed as a percentage of all the money wagered on that game. For example, a 96% RTP means a game will pay out £96 for every £100 wagered. This is an average number and will vary from one session to the next. Read more here. What is Variance?
Variance refers to how far a game will deviate from its RTP over time. High variance games deviate a lot and produce uneven win distributions and unexpected windfalls. Low variance games provide a more stable and even distribution of wins. Read more here.Immortails of Egypt has five available RTP settings. They are 96.2%, 94.2%, 91.2%, 87.2% and 84.2%. Which you play at will be at the discretion of your casino operator. We verified the RTP at five popular UK slot sites to see which setting they had chosen. This is what we found:
- Casumo (independent) – 94.2% RTP
- BacanaPlay (Skill on Net) – 91.2% RTP
- Barz Casino (White Hat Gaming) – 94.2% RTP
- Pub Casino (L and L Europe) – 94.2% RTP
- Vegasland (L and L Europe) – 87.2% RTP
As with many Play n Go slots, it can be hard to find a casino that runs the game at the optimum RTP level. We recommend Casumo for this one which has the game at 94.2%, a little under average but better than the competition.
Immortails of Egypt is a high variance slot. Not as volatile as the games in our Top 20 High Variance slots, but still a tough cookie nonetheless. If you enjoy other volatile Play n Go slots like Book of Dead or Reactoonz 2 then you are in the right place with this one.
Maximum Win
Our Score 8
What Is Maximum Win?
Maximum win refers to the maximum amount a player can win from one spin. It is expressed as a multiple of the stake. For example, where the maximum win is 100,000x, from a £1 stake, the maximum win would be £100,000.The maximum payout is capped at 10,000x which is good, but not as high as some other games from this provider. For better potential you could check out Kiss: Reels of Rock (50,000x), The Last Sundown (36,000x) or Clash of Camelot (35,000x), each of which features in our list of the highest max win games from Play n Go.

Symbols and Paytable
Our Score 8
Immortails of Egypt has an interesting pay model.
Firstly, it is a 5 reel slot with 3 rows (expanding to 4 in the free spins round). But rather than standard paylines it uses a Connecting Paylines System to trigger wins. So, three of more identical symbols must be touching horizontally or diagonally to trigger a payout. They must be on adjacent reels too.
And that is all you need to know. It works very simply once you start playing and it is not hard to follow.
Meanwhile, the paytable itself features cute kitties and typical Egyptian iconography. The premium values aren’t that high but multipliers can boost their value in the bonus round so don’t worry.
Low payers are the cards 10 through to Ace with a value of 1x to 1.2x for five on a line.
The high value premiums are represented by a ball of string, a cats toy, a snake and cats in black, brown and white. The highest value cats are worth 9x for five on a line.
Look out for Wilds because they are key to the gameplay and in a magical twist they appear during the Tumbling Wins feature as premium Cats transform themselves. The more tumbles you get, the more wilds you get, creating more win opportunities.
Finally, look out for scatters that trigger free spins when three or more land simultaneously.
Features and Gameplay
Our Score 8
Immortails of Egypt is a clever slot which is all about Tumbling Wins and wild transformations. The thrill comes from watching successive tumbles bring more wilds to the reels and more chances of scoring wins to extend the sequence.
How Do Tumble’s Work?
To start, a tumble happens after any win. Winning symbols are removed from the reels to be replaced with new ones. If new wins occur, the process repeats.
In this case, Play n Go have tied this together with Wild transformations.
So, as the game plays out, keep your eye on the kitty meters on the top right of the reels. There sit our three friends.
The Black Cat turns wild after one tumble and his light turns on. The Brown Cat turns wild after two tumbles and his two lights turn on. The White Cat turns wild after three tumbles and his three lights turn on. In each case, to add to the fun, when cats turn wild their eyes glow in a supernatural way!
Every time another cat turns wild your chances of landing a winning payline are better as more wilds are on the reels.
There is also a snake, who will turn wild too when a wild cat lands next to him. In a cute animation the cat scratches the snake to transform him.
Add those things together and the game becomes all about extended tumble sequences with more and more wilds appearing on the reels. This way you can trigger more wins.
Of course, at the end of your tumble sequence, all Cat and Snake wilds return to their normal state.
Free Spins Come With Expanding Reels and Progressive Multipliers
The free spins round has been cleverly built to give you more chance of hitting big wins thanks to an expanded reel set and expanding wilds alongside the features already described from the base game.
To unlock this feature you’ll need three scatters. That gets you 8 spins with reels expanded to four rows high.
Now, a progressive multiplier kicks in, starting at 1x and increasing by 1x with every third tumble. Like so many other high variance slots, this creates a thrilling surge of cumulative win power.
As well as the progressive multiplier and expanded reels you’ll also notice that a neon blue frame sits around random reels on each spin. If a Wild lands in a blue frame, then it expands to full reel height. This looks super-cool – the cats eyes glow as they reach full height!
Unfortunately, unlike some other high volatility games, the multiplier is not persistent between tumblers. It re-sets instead so you have to build it back up.
The Final Verdict
Overall, I enjoyed Immortails of Egypt – it is a slot game with bags of personality thanks to the graphics and atmosphere which are distinctive and fun, and the 3-d styling which looks great.
The variable RTP can be an issue which is why I recommend playing at Casumo which runs the game close to optimal. If you play anywhere else, check the game info screen before you start to be sure you aren’t being short-changed on the return potential.
As for the gameplay, it could be a little frustrating at times, as tumble sequences extend then come to an end just as they get interesting. But still there was enough going on to keep the base game interesting. The feeling I had was that much was being saved back for the bonus round and any big wins would need the player to unlock those free spins first. Then the advantage of playing with 4 rows per reel instead of 3 is to give you more win ways on the Connecting Paylines, and when you add in the expanding wilds and those thrilling progressive multipliers there is much more potential involved, and that 10,000x top payout starts to look less out of reach.
