About Immortails of Egypt

Released in the first week of September 2022, Immortails of Egypt from Play n Go takes the classic Egyptian slot theme used so effectively in games like Cleopatra (IGT), Book of Dead (Play n Go) and Queen of Riches (Big Time Gaming), and weaves in the ancient Egyptian’s love of cats!

Our feline friends were held in high esteem back then, even given god-like status and attributed with super-natural powers. These powers are reflected cleverly in the features in Immortails of Egypt, as Cat symbols turn wild and expand as their eyes glow a luminous green, boosting your wins in the process. It’s cute, fun and potentially rewarding stuff!

All the action takes place in an impressive temple-like setting, with huge columns with hieroglyphics framing a 5×3 reel set fronted by a stone staircase. Huge stacks of coins are revealed around the edges as you prepare to spin and unleash the feline magic!

RTP and Variance 7/10

What is RTP?

RTP (Return to Player) refers to the amount a game will pay out in cash prizes expressed as a percentage of all the money wagered on that game. For example, a 96% RTP means a game will pay out £96 for every £100 wagered. This is an average number and will vary from one session to the next.  Read more here.

What is Variance?

Variance refers to how far a game will deviate from its RTP over time. High variance games deviate a lot and produce uneven win distributions and unexpected windfalls. Low variance games provide a more stable and even distribution of wins. Read more here.

Immortails of Egypt will appeal to the high variance fan, mixing high risk gameplay with big win potential in the free spins round. Here are the key facts from the game sheet:

  • Immortails of Egypt is rated as a medium-high variance game. It’s given a 7/10 on the volatility scale by Play n Go. That makes it lower than other games from this studio like Book of Dead and Reactoonz 2, but still one that will make it hard to score a win.
  • The RTP of Immortails of Egypt is 96.2% which is average for a Play n Go slot and represented good value.
  • The highest payout is capped at 10,000x which is good – higher than Reactoonz 2 (which is 5,083x) but not as strong as another Play n Go game – Raging Rex 2 (30,000x).
  • The default minimum bet for this game is 10p per spin.

Paytable 8/10

The paytable here feature cute kitties and typical Egyptian iconography. The premium values aren’t that high but multipliers can boost value in the bonus round. Here is how it looks.

  • Immortails of Egypt is a 5 reel slot with 3 rows (expanding to 4 in the free spins round).
  • The game has a Connecting Paylines System – to score wins, three of more identical symbols must be touching horizontally or diagonally to trigger a payout.
  • Low payers are shown to be the cards 10 through to Ace with a value of 1x to 1.2x for five on a line.
  • Premiums are represented by a ball of string, a cats toy, a snake and cats in black, brown and white. The highest value cats are with 6x for five on a line.
  • Wilds are key to the gameplay and in a magical twist they appear during the Tumbling Wins feature as premium Cats transform themselves. The more tumbles you get, the more wilds you get, creating more win opportunities.
  • Finally, look out for scatters that trigger free spins when three or more land simultaneously.

Gameplay & Features 7/10

Immortails of Egypt uses some clever gameplay to enhance the base game action and accelerate your wins in the bonus round with an expanding reel set. Here is how it works:

  • Immortails of Egypt is a Tumbling Wins game which means after any winning spin, winning symbols are removed from the reels to be replaced with new ones. If new wins occur, the process repeats.
  • But that’s not all – consecutive tumbles give you EXTRA WILDS. The Black Cat turns wild after one tumble. The Brown Cat turns wild after three tumbles. The White Cat turns wild after six tumbles.
  • When cats turn wild their eyes glow in a supernatural way!
  • Any SNAKE that lands NEXT TO a Wild Cat will turn wild too.
  • NOTE: At the end of your tumble sequence, all Cat and Snake wilds return to their normal state.

  • Three scatters gets you 8 free spins.
  • Now, FOUR rows are in play across ALL reels AND a progressive multiplier is triggered. Starting at 1x, it increases by 1x with EVERY third tumble win.
  • During free spins, a neon blue frame sits around random reels on each spin. If a Wild lands in a blue frame, then it expands to full reel height. Watch out for this impressive animations as the cats eyes glow and they reach full height!

NOTE: At the end of a tumble sequence, the multiplier always re-sets to 1x.

Our Verdict 7.6/10

We really enjoyed Immortails of Egypt – this is a slot game with bags of personality just like a lively kitten! The graphics and atmosphere from the off are top class and the base game ticks along at a good pace for a medium-high variance game. Wins come fairly frequently, though the tumbles rarely get to 3 or more, so unlocking three Cat wilds is going to be tough. Nonetheless, when they do appear, and expand with those glowing eyes, it’s an impressive event and can trigger some nice wins.

The bonus round was very hard to trigger – not surprisingly – and we never got far with progressive multipliers, which is a pity because there is a sense this game could really deliver when the expanding wilds and a high value progressive multiplier combine. The top win compares favourably with other recent Play n Go slots like Shamrock Miner as well, so this is a game worth a spin if you are a high variance fanatic.
